Glad you're felling and looking better!! Totally loved this episode. You can tell that Yoongi is most comfortable "interviewing" his members especially with JK. He's always had a soft spot for him! I think all the members are in their own way perfectionists, some more than others. But we can all see the amount of work they put into everything they put out to us! I love how JK feels so much more at ease with himself now then when he was younger. And the karaoke portion of this episode is totally like a JK live...he sings to us for hours lol and it takes him forever to say goodbye to us. Can't wait for your reaction to Seven, I just love the song, it's perfect for the summer. So excited for Tae's album and JK's next single and his mini album! 💜💜💜

Suga offered “That That” to Psy. One of the many songs that Suga has on his laptop. When he offered a song to Jungkook, he wasn’t kidding. He ended up producing and then was asked to feature in “That That”.

Have you seen these boys eat? Once he gets started JK doesn’t stop. Yoongi is right, JK is eating enough for three meals. Seven was released on July 14. If you haven’t seen the full mv you really must. Like SUGA’s mvs it’s a cinematic joy. In a way Jungkook is having his teenage years now. He’s up late, sleeping late and slobbing out when he wants. He prefers loose clothes and dark colours which is the opposite of most of what he wears as BTS. His real teenage years were spent working night and day so he really deserves to go through what he’s missed. We often saw SUGA sleeping in their early days but in fact he had been up all night producing so he had to catch some sleep when he could. It was very hard going for them. If you get the book Behind the Story you’ll learn a lot about their struggles. It’s interesting that you made the point that people usually make friends with people who are like themselves. SUGA has said that if they had never been thrown together as BTS they would not have been friends because they are so different.
I just want to say thank you for giving such insightful commentary on all of your content.You lend so much of a personalized experience to everything you react to, especially these Suchwita episodes. I thoroughly enjoy watching, and re-watching your reactions. There’s a comfortable feeling, like watching with an old friend, and the knowledge I pick up about Korean culture is an added bonus. We're the same age. My sister, also BTS fan, is in her 70's. We oldies, but goodies will be loyal fans forever. Youngsters tend to chase the next shiny object. JK, your fans are already grannies.
They actually released a separate video of Jung Kook performing the other 5 or 6 songs or so right after Suchwita. He is such a versatile and beautiful singer. I'm glad you are doing better now! Yoongi is right, they all brought something different to the group and I think that is what made it work so well. They all have some perfectionist in them. You're right about artists; always striving for perfection (which of course doesn't exist, but the process is there to always strive to do better).

Hello. Thanks for the chuckles. Where I live we say, "he's smoothed out his rough edges". Any rough edges which JK may have had, vanished once he got to Seoul. He realized he'd have to figure things out quickly and rely on those entrusted to care for him. Suga and Jin took on the older sibling roles, with a greater sense of responsibility towards JK. Surprisingly, those three are the most introverted. They prefer to recharge alone or with close friends. Jungkook is a perfectionist but has become more of a realist. He accepts he'll make mistakes yet strives to make every performance near flawless. You caught a glimpse of his free spirited side. When he drinks he's less inhibited and compelled to perform. He loves Karaoke and to interact with fans through Weverse live sessions. This young man grew up under intense pressure. At age 15 he was assigned to be the "face of the group," the center position. JK was expected to know his part of each song as well as the parts of the other members. In his mind failure was not an option, looking cool and sounding great were job #1. What the members and Bang PD afforded him was the space to grow, time to develop his craft and confidence to trust his instincts. They respected his talent but were careful not to overly praise him. These good guys, worked through many difficulties and obtained incredible results, yet never take for granted how blessed they were to meet each other and live up to their destiny. Jungkook's ambition will push him to go further still.
Thank you. I can attest to having older fans....I'm 51 and have been an ARMY since 2014. Also, I am from a very small town in TN and there was no diversity. Then I moved to Kmoxville and then Seattle and I loved surrounding myself with many different kinds of people. Unfortunatley, I had to move back to rural TN and I really, really miss the diversity. So, I love listening to you explain things about culture or language, etc in the Korean context. Thanks again.
My dad was born in 1935 and his favorite drink was the Highball. 🥃 Anytime we had a family get together, he was making highballs. Suga and Jungkook are the only other people I’ve seen drinking highballs. 🤣😂
It is very popular in Japan. It is one of the most consumed cocktail I believe. I think it went to Japan long time ago and stuck to their culture, while it faded in other places.

Seven have been out for 16 days, and went into nr 1 at Billboard 100 , nr 1 at Billboard 200, nr 1 at Billboard global, also nr 1 at Spotify for 15 days and it went in to Uk charts as nr 3
They all diet before shoots... Even though they're all quite slender. Jungkook works out a lot, he's very muscular. There's a lot of pressure for them to look a certain way. They tend to put on weight between appearances and then lose it again when they're going onstage and have photo shoots. At this point, even though I wish they didn't feel they had to, it's something they choose.
We evolved eating leaves and bugs 🤣 it's more natural for us to eat small amounts all the time than one big meal once in a while. Hunting wasn't the main food source for early humans 😁 but we can adapt to most ways of eating pretty fast. There's definitely no one right way.
I mention it because there are plenty of people who would literally just die if they tried intermittent fasting. That's diabetic coma territory for some folks. So... Best to emphasize that there are a lot of ways to eat, and what works for you works for you.

Oh yes! Jungkook's single 'Seven' was released with an MV so it's definitely available for you to react to. He really is lucky to have been placed with such good influences at a young age. Many parents get concerned about the peers their kids are around as teens as that's the age where they really start soaking up external influences much mure more than the ones from inside the home. It must be even more concerning as a parent knowing that you have very limited direct contact with your kid to keep an eye on them while a company that is hoping to profit from your kid is the one doing some of the raising now. Knowing how some companies are, you really never know if your child will be well taken care of or exploited. For all these parents knew, the company would have picked people who are super talented but not particularly nice or a good influence. It really is pure luck. I bet it was a relief for all of the parents to meet the other guys and realize that their kids have a bunch of sweet, loving, supportive, encouraging people around them. BTS truly seemed to want the best for each other as human beings and that reflects in their music a lot. Even the way they look at each other, the affection and respect is clear in their eyes. Each member is precious and irreplacable to them.
Yes Seven has been out since July 14, so about 2 weeks now. There was also a recording film & a behind sketch shoot videos released recently to go along with it
JK is just so endearing, and everything about this episode was completely on-brand for him. Loves food and to eat, he's infamous for taking Army requests on Weverse lives and just singing for literally hours, and he loves to drink. I'm sure they brought the karaoke knowing that they would get some good extra footage from it. They would HAVE to know at this point. And , IMO JK is a perfectionist, like all of them...but where he started so young, and maybe didn't see in himself what others saw I've often wondered if maybe he has imposter syndrome as well. Where he's just naturally gifted, maybe he didn't feel all that special, not really understanding that he just starts at a level higher than other (not that he hasn't worked to get where he is now). Yoongi has often said this about him. I hope he gets to a point where no outward success will ever fill in that place inside him that doesn't feel good enough, and that that will have to be something he does for himself.
I think Yoongi knew JK isn't a big talker & brought his favorite things instead 😁 although he has plenty to say these days!

BTS probably sees mostly younger ARMYs as those are the ones with the extra free time and the endurance of camping in line and meeting up to see BTS members in passing. Like at the airports and in and our of different shows.

But as a teenager in the 70s, I would always see my friends' parents drinking them before dinner. It seems that JK has retro tastes! Which is cute....
you are right about the thing that makes then unique is the embrace of change and being different. they respect each others choises even if they dont share it. and they never say anything bad about a members standpoint. they just say "i can understand why you would do or say that". very aware of each others role and strength in the team and never cross the line and try and outshine the other.
they feel proud that there is someone on the team, who can do what they cannot. it´s really unique. most groups or teams and even family members have an alpha or a person who think they are right all the time and will ruin the whole mood. but BTS didn´t have that. JK was a brat at the beginning and the members would scold him for being to greedy and he learned so much. he could have turned out bad if he didn´t have the right members. and i think he is brave to acknowledge that.
also given the fact that Korea is a very "fit in with the crowd" type of people. they look down on people who are different but BTS did lots of things first and they never did what was expected of them they just did what they wanted to. and army made it happen for them. now they can litterally do whatever thy want and people will still support them. and the different types of music styles just show how much they appreciate the memebers that they are allowing them to have their own style of songs unique to them like jk had pop and jimin R&B and V jazz and they even said to jimin go dance contemp. something that i have never seen before in kpop. he was the talk of the town when it came out.

Most of them do diet before a show/concert. When they have rest periods they eat what they want. JK is very hard on himself when comes weight. I know Jimin and JHope about starved themselves before their projects.
JK lives in a country which prefers lean instead of round body types. Being muscular naturally his body will tend to plump when he's inactive. I love it when he's a few pounds heavier, but he prefers to be on the skinny side. They may all look different after enlistment since the military try's to get soldiers bodies to their peak muscular level.

Edit : about exercising Jungkook is called the muscle monster or pig by his hyungs and he does boxing , his exercise routine is so intense that some armys made it a challenge

John, if and when you react to JungKook"s single "Seven," please be aware that he recorded two versions: a "clean" version (that's the MV) and an "explicit" version (performance video). The only difference that I have noticed is the "clean" version has the words "loving you" while the explicit version has the words "f***ing you" instead. Latto's rap verse fits better with the explicit version, I think. Have fun!

The intermittent fasting 20/4 that Jungkook is doing is actually right and correct for his age. I used to do that too and i had a problem with acid reflux because it was not age appropriate for me…its really works when you want to maintain a certain weight or want to lose weight. What he saud about its not about how much you eat….is also true and correct …its the length of your fasting that matters…

I see it different. Having lived in the US and Korea John's seen what's popular visually, in both countries. K-pop is fairly new, so watching a young man sport a retro hair style is puzzling, yet it's okay, he's JK. I'm sure many older men are perplexed at JK's manner. He's mature, young, Korean and global all at once. Not typically Korean or Western. JK is a phenom in multiple ways but so refreshingly different then all other superstars.

Actually, I did not dislike his hair. It was just different. It might have sounded weird..how I ended my sentence... It was because I was about to say something and I stopped myself because I thought people might misunderstand what I meant. I was about to say it kinda resembles Some Japanese Men's style that resembles Anime. Since this style has some negative connotation associated with it, I stopped. So if there was a misunderstanding, hope this reply has remedied it.
