What did you think of the tap strap in comparison to other keyboard tech you’ve tried? I’m still partial to my projection keyboards and I don’t know why. I’ve also been not so secretly hoping a phone would eventually include one as a feature, but each year that passes I lose a little more hope of seeing that happen 😂
Finally.. although I’ve been a follower of yours for years and I’m sure there are videos on the channel where you’ve answered this… what in the world do you do with the thousands upon thousands of items you test/buy that aren’t immediately destined for your trash can/rubbish bin? Make it rain on all the toys for tots locations within 50 miles of you? Rent out increasingly larger storage units? Use the boxes to build the ULTIMATE cat jungle gym?

This channel always makes my day, I myself am a tech enthusiast and really want to learn more about new evolving tech. Arun's video are short yet way informative and to the point than many others who film a 20 minute video just to tell their subscribers a "update on my new iPhone, I was shocked!" The inflatable helmet called HÖVDING (not it's not from Ikea but close) is really useful even though it didn't seem that way in your test. I've seen it in action three times and it inflates so fast you don't believe it. Just *don't* go offroad with it. the sensors may trigger and blow up your airbag which - as always - is single use.
Unfortunately, it's *pricey*.
But would it deflate before your head hits the asphalt?

@@vondahe So that means you can still suffer a TBI, concussion, fracture or cracked skull compared to using a proper real helmet (which prevents this from happening).
Also, once deployed, can one easily squeeze the air-filled bag? That would defeat the purpose of protecting your head.
I think keyboards are good enough already, we don't need aero protectors or motion thingy's or whatever's in that thing, keyboards are good enough already.
The way you test, review and just go full in depth on whatever product your reviewing is legit just amazing.

The smart mirror feels like one of those quintessential sci-fi gadgets people predict will exist in the future. It feels surreal seeing that it exists now, even if it does feel unnecessary currently.

That Balmuda toaster is awesome. Reminds me of how beer-batter works in fried food, where the alcohol burning off in the fry oil causes the beer batter to dry and fry faster than regular batter.

There’s some neat DIY smart mirrors that are completely customizable as
long as you’re half decent with a raspberry pi.
And as for the music production device.. people like you and I wouldn’t have much use for it. But when I was making custom audio, those files were still getting physically saved on my HD (even once steaming had started to dominate).
The mirrors have been around for decades. Remember seeing the at tech expos about 20 years ago. Still the preserve of the well off.

It seriously gets old watching people comment just for internet points. Or personal praise from the channel
I agree, his crew is doing a great job. But the people behind the scenes should have a chance to introduce themselves since they are helping churn out these videos.
We all know a single person couldn't do this by themselves. It's a team effort regardless of who the frontman is. They should be appreciated. Since this is a video channel, then let them introduce themselves to the people who support it.
Sorry... I just always hate when people praise one person when it's always a team effort regardless of the size of the team.

The Tap Strap 2 is an evolution of a one handed keyboard originally designed for the disabled that I remember a guy with only partial use of one hand get used to using back in the 1990's at a rehab facility I was working at. It was a much more expensive piece of hardware. The newer and cheaper tech that fits on the fingers is a big improvement, as is the performance of pointing device function.
The manufacturer probably could sell you two pair of those, configured so that you could touch type, but that would raise the price, and most regular folks are only going to want to use it as a pointing device like Tom Cruz in "Minority Report" anyway.
The amount of dedication to collect all these items is amazing. Keep up the good work Arun!

I’ve used the tap strap 2 and even suggested you show it on your channel before, and I can safely say from experience that the learning, if you use the apps, is pretty easy and actually kind of fun! Everyone’s different though, and I encourage you to keep going! Great video!
But what are you using it for?
I see it as a fun and good gadget. It can be useful as:
1. a assist for work like shortcuts in programming or drawing apps and other apps where you can map some functions to taps or gestures,
2. Create your mini games or apps yourself because as far as I know they are giving sdk to program tap strap to your need (this also probably can be used to improve point 1.),
3. probably for some vr applications
4. (and this is kind of the big one but also very small group of people will actually benefit) can be used for peoples with some special disabilities or something like that as a accesibility device.
But this device is kind of flawed and in my opinion disadvantages are bigger than advantages:
1. Writing is slower than normal keyboard (I am not sure about smartphone one but I guess that standard keyboard with swipes is also probably faster)
2. Writing on non-hard surfaces is pretty annoying
3. (and this is kind of big one) you often need to take it off and wearing it back on is a little annoying (some movements of hand are a little bit limited (not very much though); if you grab or touch some objects it can also be annoying because this device and object you are grabbing or touching might interfere with each other (by that I mean that object you are grabbing might "hit" cables between fingers for example); also there are some activities that might require you to take it off like washing hand (I am not sure if it is waterproof but i guess it is not - If it is then nevermind) or touching dirty stuff)
4. Switching between using tap strap and for example using your smartphone like normal also can be annoying (if you touch your phone then it might count it as writting letter so you need to make gesture to turn device into "sleep" mode or turn device off by touching button)
I very like the concept but i guess that unless you are using it as a sort of assist for (for example) creative work then I think it is unfortunetly mostly not goot option to do things.
Their new product (I am not sure if released yet) which is placed on your wrist might fix some issues (but also if I am not wrong can not be used as mouse or to make "3D" gestures) but the "dongle witht camera (i guess)" might also be a little annoying to fold and unfold. Their first video about wrist thing were showing something without this dongle and it could be probably a lot better (and it seemed also easier to wear) but I guess that technology were not good enough.
But maybe I am wrong in some ways, and then I would like to know so feel free to correct me

I think the mirror could be useful in the kitchen for armature chefs allowing them to play tutorials on a larger screen whilst cooking. Also adding timers, or allowing you to video call someone if its possible to add wireless devices. not sure if last ones possible.
Or you can be logical and simply get a tablet like iPad or something. Even Samsung smart fridge is better than this stupid mirror.
@@ahsan.v8 Well i'm in the Australia smart fridge $3000+ mirror 600+ ipad start at $1600+ for 12.9in so mirror seems like a better option. ps I still don't believe its a good product just that it may be slightly useful if someone put a gun to your head and said you had to pick one of the three items to use for my specific scenario.

I use my ordinary mirror which will reflect from screen mounted on other side which make the room poetic at night.

hey arun, at 6:39 you mention that the device can’t connect to streaming services, then gen 2 version of the stem player named “stem2” will have wifi capabilities, which means it could work as a streaming device by what kano/stem have told me and others

Now, They would sell so many of these if The Rover had a mode where the cooler would just follow you (with the remote) around without you having to steer it, or have a "Return to base" feature once you have sent it somewhere to make a delivery. The Cowarobot and even some cheap drones can do that now.
