It's gonna be fun

the directional speaker would be really cool for walking through an exhibition space or something, imagine an art gallery where each painting had its own targeted soundtrack
I actually know of artists who have used tnis! I am an art student and quite a few of my teacher use sound lasers and we can actually borrow one from school!! It’s really cool:)

weirdly by far the most futuristic thing imo was the ruler, although at first it may seem underwhelming, the potential and the many tricks up its sleeves it has is astounding.
Agreed
It’s very niched but definitely the most useful one by far.
The robot wasn't bad either, but unless you reenact home alone 3 it's not very practical. On the other hand it can carry you so ....
Wow that's bars you're spitting
Ruler needed a laser measure and leveling devices otherwise its just a glorified Vernier caliper with a calculator built in
The only futuristic item is his sweater, survived at 1% for the whole recording. Very durable battery.
I dont know why but this comment is awesome
@@LaserManudel I agree
In Japan, self sharpening mechanical pencil is a common product. You can buy it for under $3. The more expensive version, which costs around $20 not only sharpens the tip, but also prevents the tip of the lead from breaking, and automatically pulls out the lead you have used. You’ll never have to worry about knocking nor breaking your lead from excessive pressure.
Can you please suggest some brands? One for the cheap one and one for the expensive one, i would be super grateful!!
@@letiziaciancarini3804the cheap one would be the Kurutoga, self-sharpening mechanical pencil, and the expensive one would be Orenz nero, the one that sharpens and prevents lead breaking
@@letiziaciancarini3804 The Kuru Toga made by Uni is the premium one he's referring to. I love mine. If you get the proper lead for it it writes smoother than a ballpoint.
Hello I am from France and as long as I remember when I was in Middle school in the 90's school were already asking parents to buy them, and 2 extra for art class. We called it " crayon portemines " it could translate as "pencil carrying pencil lead " 😂 we also had number for the strenght of the stroke. 0.5mm and 0.7mm being very popular
I actually worked for a company that did contract design work for that rideable suitcase. The issues ended up being exactly what you said - too expensive, too heavy, limited use case, and cramming the tech into a size that was usable suitcase left a tiny capacity. It was a really cool idea though and it was fun to ride around the office on it on casual Fridays.
That’s really cool lol
@@TD75 it's true, but still... it's kinda comical just riding around in a suitcase-scooter hybrid

That ruler would be perfect for guitar techs and luthiers. Things like string spacing when carving a nut or installing a bridge.
Wow, that was a really fun surprise to see our Morf Strap in one of your videos! :D Thank you for showing us some new use cases, always fun to see what people come up with!
ok, now make it run doom
The ruler is so weirdly cool, it had me sold at the ability to show you exactly even chunks of something.
Same
Yes, that was a surprising feature and the only usable product. The more expensive it got, the more weird and nonsense was it!
That ruler is insane. I'm a Handyman and when you showed me $130 ruler I thought how stupid of an idea... Then you showed me everything it can do.. if they made a yard stick variant, I could guarantee so many Handymen would be able to make great use of all those features it includes 😮
Depends how durable it is. Id rather see the same tech in a tape measure.
It's way too complicated and fragile for trade use! The perfect trade tool is a laser pointing tool, potentially with small pads that can be placed for accuracy. The pointer sends all data to your phone and an app would allow you to calculate anything you want in any format.
Just get a caliper ? What's the point of something being 0.1mm accurate if you have to "aim" by hand and sight anyway. If you need that level of accuracy, get a caliper, if you don't just use a ruler, or a laser.
I think one with size changing tech would be better. By that I mean it's all compacted into th3 current size but obviously a little more girthy because you can then grab it and with a controlled method extend it to a set size option.
Siblings should have that Neo ruler to divide food 😂😂😂
There’s something about a product that follows you around like a suitcase in my opinion. At this point it doesn’t look very practical but now I kind of want a pet suitcase.
The NeoRuler's biggest target is CAD software, specifically for CNC or 3d printing. Makes it a lot easier
As someone in the ME field, I will be ordering one ASAP.
as a CE, AMAZING. It was a 10 for me!!
A digital or physical dial caliper can do the same thing.

Pretty interesting to see all this tech. I like how constructive you’re with the feedback on imperfections. Because tech is advancing every time, and sometimes I think people don’t see a dangerous potential of it. Like replacing human jobs, connection, and real life. I hope more companies will purpose the creation more to helping rather than entertaining.

This was THE BEST Mrwhosetheboss video. Absolutely nailed it.The futuristic products, funny bits and spot on editing along with very realistic review.Excellent work.
Speaking of editing, I wonder how many people noticed Mr Bean’s face in the ferrofluid speaker 🤣
In 2001 I visited the MIT media lab and I heard this fascinating story. They always admit students who have really interesting ideas and let them work on them, but also always admit a few students with crazy ideas, because it turns out they learn just as much from failed experiments. One of these was a guy who had the idea to use ultrasound to encapsulate the sound from a speaker, to everyone's surprise he actually made it work, and he got funding from, among others, Lockheed who saw potential savings on headphones on airplanes (think directed light, AC and sound from above). Since the Focusound i said to be developed in China, it might not be the same, but I suspect that the technology is similar.
It's a long time since I read something as interesting in youtube comments as your comment. Thanks for sharing.
I wonder what they would say about my crazy inventions : D sadly, I'm not technical person and smart just enough to know that my idea is probably impossible and that's why it doesn't exist :D. My idea was "warmth in a can". If you can spray sth into the air to make it smell like lemon, why can't you spray the air to make it warm. Like let's say there's emergency, you are in the tent on mount everest, but you have "warmth in a can" you spray and the air in the tent gets comfy as hell, just as long as someone cames to save you. : D I would love an answer why that's completely impossible, why even is possible the warmth would last just seconds because it would be overpowered by a force that made the air cold in the first place. I know it's crazy. : D
@@michakowalski2930 Thank you for reading!
@@michakowalski2930Warmth is either produced by friction or chemical reactions.
So the sun or a space heater radiate infrared radiation, which energises the molecules in your skin. Energy is basically movement of particles so the more energised the particles are, the more they move, thus the hotter it gets. Particles you spray in the air can't radiate infrared radiation (or any radiation for that matter, like microwaves), so that's not going to happen. Your best bet would be to create some form of chemical reaction to heat the surrounding air, but I know of no such reaction that would yield any meaningful amount of energy and is safe for you.
If there was a way to create warmth from spraying some particles in the air, it would be expensive, inefficient, impractical and unhealthy.
It is simply easier to carry pocket warmers and maybe a space heater.
@michakowalski2930 Not an expert either, but you could probably just use that "hairspray flamethrower" technique to make a can of warmth (it would technically work because it would set your tent on fire)

Yes, it's suddenly 4am...
I'm an instructor pilot in helicopters. My client a couple of weeks ago had the Ray-Ban Meta glasses and was using them to film some of our flying. The quality of the videos is surprisingly good, but the major downside is that they only record for 30 seconds at a time. So when he was trying to record something like an autorotation (landing with a simulated engine failure), it would get the first bit, but stop recording before we actually got to the ground, which was disappointing since that was really what he wanted to see.

If you like writing with it then I would highly suggest upgrading to the Kuru Toga Advanced. It’s has a similar mechanism but rotates the lead twice as fast so the tip is always even and smooth. When I fist saw the invisibility shield, I was blown away. ...Until I realized that it's just made of those prismatic sheets they use in LCD/TFT screens to scatter the backlight. One layer will move the light 30 degrees to the right, another, 15 degrees to the left. etc, etc.
I tore apart an early TFT screen once that had 8 layers of that stuff to it.
They are little more that a glorified Fresnel lens. Just plastic sheets with grooves cut into them. Somebody just figured out how to market the technology in a unique way. But I will still give them credit for that.

I’ve been using the Nike go flyease shoes for over a year and can say that these are the best pair of shoes I’ve ever used, comfortable and sturdy too, the mechanism still works perfectly and they haven’t failed on me ‘yet’.

About 14 years ago I was with my class in a real (similar to Walmart) future market. They had sound showers, which was basically the same as this glass pane. The only difference was that there were large plates under the ceiling, where you could only hear anything if you stood right under them. I was already completely blown away at the time xD
You could use the rideable suitcase and attach a larger suitcase to the back somehow, or find a way to hold it with your hand and roll it behind you. That way you could have the perk of the ridable suitcase, while also having a suitcase that is actually functional.
With that being said, idk why they don't just make the suitcase bigger. With the power and torque that thing has, it wouldn't really hurt anything.
18:03 - "Ain't that a nutty question?"
Perhaps, but i wanted to hear the nutty answer 😂
Absolutely one of my favourite episodes, Arun. Phenomenal selection!

As soon as I saw that northern lights light and you mentioned the glass tube I thought to myself "they should hook that up to a motor that spins it, that would make it actually look like there's a fire/water reflections". Then you mentioned that it DOES have a motor, but that its fried, which kinda sucks.
The thing that's even more futuristic is the fact that he filmed all of this while just having 1% battery😂

Well props to the editor(s) this was by far one of the best-edited videos on the channel.
The ruler is the single best and most useful thing on this list. When I think of what the future is supposed to be like, I think of practicality first. All the other stuff that is not practical is gimmicky in one way or another and doesn't have the same potential as something that changes how you live your daily life.
The 3D screens could change your life a fair bit.
@@MiTheMer The 3D screen was probably my favourite, but in terms of everyday use, the ruler is definitely the most useful.

The Kuro Toga self sharpening pencils are a bit hit and miss in my experience.
From what I heard, the required pressure can vary between lots. And you need to reach a certain pressure threshhold, for the machanism to actually engage. So as someone who uses relatively light pressure in many circumstances, they don't really do it for me. I'd really enjoy, if they gave the user a way to adjust the required pressure, so it's not up to good luck with the lot. It also only works, when the lead is in the pushing-mechanism, so the last 5mm or so won't sharpen themselves.
Otherwise, it does what it promises and works really well in cases, where you can employ the required pressure.
A suitcase that follows you around like a puppy is really the one that blew my mind. That's actually insane.
Edit: to be clear yall, I’m not saying that this thing has any practical usage, because I really can’t see one, but it’s still crazy tech considering that when I was growing up the Super Nintendo was high tech.
My granpa used an actual dog with a double bicycle-bag to carry his shoppings. It followed him like a puppy and no one would ever try to seal it (it was a german shephard)
My grandad had a golf trolley that followed him round the golf course. Been around for years! Very clever
I'd rather just hold a normal suitcase personally. I would never be able to get myself to trust it not to get lost or stolen, even with the alarm.

A lot of airlines have banned suitcases that have power banks and batteries in them. They are considered a fire hazard on aircraft. So those suitcases can’t be used at an airport.
OK, I admit, the smart ruler was one of those rare things that when I first saw I thought it's just an expensive gimmick - but then it convinced me. I'm not gonna buy one, but I can definitely see its use.
It's gimmicky and overpriced for what it is. Go to any hardware store and you'll find better ones for far cheaper and more accurate. but, most of these 'futuristic' devices are just gimmicks. If ya like that sort of thing have at it but I'd rather spend my money on something that's not just all bells and whistles.
@@novaangle2183 I wouldn't think it's gimmicky. This term, for me, implies it has no real use, it offers no real benefit. This ruler does. t least I think it does.

I absolutely love the future! In remember going to Epcot at Walt Disney world in Florida in the 1980's. There was an exibit of future products and a house of tomorrow! I remember walking up to the front door of the home of the future and there was a door bell that had a camera built in which is highly available now. Then when you walked inside and the house it asked you what you wanted done. For example,Turn on lights, turn on TV, play certain music and much more!! When the smart products of today have more AI built in, our smart homes. And i believe this is all very close to mass production! The goal is to have a home that knows how you want , has
everything set, then will also welcome you home and ask you what you would like done! Can't wait.

I like that Drisha is doing more with you. Her insight and input about the translation buds was very good. Also, your personal interactions are cool to see. It was playful the way she crashed you on the suitcase.😂
