Reeve sounds like "dream" in french (rêve). Always sounded right to me since I was a kid.

Chris Reeve was such a beautiful man. I'm used to seeing his beauty shine through from his later years, so to see him at this stage of his life, my god he was stunning. You can tell he was a deep soul even then.

+john banks I agree, Christopher Reeve was indeed the best Superman ever, simply because he looked like the one in the comic, whether they tried to make him look like the comic version I don't know but they got it right and that is why he is most iconic. He had the right costume, the best composer John Williams, the best decade, the 1970;s where they didn't have CGI and still make it believe a man could fly. The ones who played Superman before and after Christopher were are exactly what you say, a pale imitation , I couldn't agree more, with respect to the others who played him as they were good actors, but totally wrong for Superman, they were like the fake Santa clause you see at a department store with the obvious fake beard, compared to the traditional Santa with the genuine beard. I had quite a thing for Margot Kidder, so yes, again, I agree with you, she was a hottie for the 70's....and 80's.

Christopher was the Greatest Superman, but watching this clip of him shows that he can't help but to expose the natural Clark Kent within himself. I believe this role of being Superman which bleeds charisma and swag ultimately binds perfectly with the nerdy but thoughtful way of what Christopher really is.

The comments of every video having to do with the Christopher Reeve Superman, especially the first film directed by Richard Donner are overflowing with reverence for and loyalty to that incarnation of the character. The reason for this is that real artists were involved in making it. Legendary craftsmen who all came together to do their best work under the direction of a man who took the character, but more importantly the story totally seriously. This is seen nowhere more than in the casting of Christopher Reeve, and the qualities he brought to the role. All of this combined to set the standard, and create the template for the modern superhero blockbuster. A template that has been sadly strayed from with the same character today. Long live Christopher Reeve, forever the one true Superman to all the world.

I just watched the Superman marathon on Sundance TV just the other day. Christopher Reeve was a huge part of my childhood, both Chris and Margot will always be missed.

Does anyone else think it is a missed opportunity that in the late 70s, when you had the most popular Wonder Woman on television and the most popular Superman on the big screen, there wasn’t some kind of pairing?

Even though they were meant to be one long movie I always liked part 2 more when I was a kid.And they'll never be able to recapture the magic of the original Christopher Reeve Superman movies,and the same goes for the original 3 star wars movies.

Christopher Reeve couldn't help but be in character LOL. Everyone is saying he is the best Superman. I agree to a point, he made the biggest mark in the franchise, but I also give props to George Reeves. He gave the character an innocent enchantment that I really appreciated growing up, and now as an adult.
