Love to your expression just as lovely child. Thanks for differentiating the two terms.

Thanks ma'am. 1) Is the title of professor universal across institutions? 2) "Can someone awarded a professorship at Fourah Bay College, Sierra Leone, be considered a professor at Cambridge University?"

    Dear friend,
    Hope you are fine.
I'm writing from Angola, Africa. We speak Portuguese language.
    I've a doubt.
I have a Master degree and currently I teach at Social and Humanities Faculty. How can I say on myself? Am I a lecturer, assistant professor.
In Angola, in this case, we say "Professor Assistente" cause Master degree. If i had a PhD, could say "Professor Auxiliar= UK- Assistant Professor".
    Regards,

Congratulations on completing your masters. Typically, in the UK STEM subjects, we do: a PhD (many students will have opportunities to assist with teaching to get experience during this time), then work in research (PostDoc or industry), before applying to lectureships. Hi 😀 It can be very competitive to secure a university lectureship or professor position. Looking at the job requirements can help decide which are the jobs to apply for, as application processes can also take a lot of effort. Depending on your subject, if you are looking to lecturer in the UK you may also need a PhD alongside the masters, but this varies depending on the job / subject. Thanks for watching!

What about being a lecturer in the US?

Good shout - I should have included US lecturer. Maybe UK lecturer v US lecturer could be a good future video?! A US lecturer typically is a non-tenure academic track position, usually with full time teaching duties and no research requirements.
