  • In this video we have a look at one of Expobar's Office series of machines. The "Control" is the mid-level model between the "Semi-Auto" and the "Leva". All 3 machine of the office range contain the same 1.5L heat exchanger boiler. The "Control" specifically has a volumetric control panel that can be programmed for your ideal shot volume in either a single or double shot and there is also a manual button should you want to freestyle ;). This is a really great machine and we will we restoring them and putting them up for sale as often as we can find one in need of some love and a new owner :)

    Well presented but...
    ...Should've flushed the group head a bit before brew and Purge the wand a bit to clear out condensed drip inside and Wiped the wand and purge immediately... on camera! ...i mean, they are all important coffee habits and reflects the skill of the host, the shop, the distributor, etc.
    This feels like an novice driver presenting fast sport car.
    Apart from those, good demo of a great machine,,,i enjoyed it ☕

      Thanks Blizz R, I have been meaning to mention that is a good habbit to allow first bit of hot water from inside heat exchanger out before brewing. The steam purge I have been doing off screen but will make mention of next time. Thanks for watching😁

    Hey mate, great video! I bought one of these last year (live up on the sunny coast) and am absolutely in love with it.. The only issue I have is the manual is really bad! I'm trying to work out how to do a proper descale of it - as in the boiler. It's not documented in the manual or any manual I can find online. All the tutorials on youtube are for the 'Leva' or 'Pulser' machines rather than the 'Control' like this one. The tutorials call for switching off the machine and pulling the lever down to flush the fluid through the boiler - obviously if I turn off this guy, it's not going to let me push a button to run liquid through the head and boiler.. any thoughts? cheers mate.

      Follow instruction for Pulser as it is the same boiler. Obviously it only has one button to run the flow through the group, so you will need to press the double shot one more regularly instead.

      What do you mean by the security valve? The valve that normally releases after you finish the shot?

    Hi !! Good video, What model is that steam wand? I have the same machine but it comes with a straight steam wand and it is not very comfortable to use, thanks!

      This is a later model cool touch steam wand the earlier models had a different wand. I am sure you could buy the newer wand and fit it to you machine.

    Hi James, great vid. How long does it take from switched on for the machine to be warm enough to pull shots? Thanks.

      I have never timed it. Gut feel would be 10 minutes or so. If you are likely to be in a hurry in the morning, consider a smart switch that will turn machine on before you are awake, so it's ready to go!

      Hey James, I've hooked a temp sensor up to the group on mine and it takes pretty much bang on 10 minutes to get to 93 degrees. My machine has the thermosiphon restrictor installed. I'm not too sure how long it would take for a unit that doesn't have the restrictor installed.

    Do you prefer office control or Leva with E61?

    • @espressorestomelbourne1735
      @espressorestomelbourne1735  Před 2 lety +1

      I am a bit of an e61 fan but of I am sensible and consider my wife using machine too, the control is the more practical option.
