thank you for the video it helped me greatly!
Excellent advice!!
thank you man
Thanks for the video .
interesting video. i’m using MLV with my 6D and with this mod i think i could get very reasonably wide angle with this reasonably cheap efs lenses
Thank you so much for the video! So, you keep all the 10-18 range with the speedbooster? I assume that any speedbooster wuth EF mounting capabilities would be valid, such as Viltrox M2II?. I'll try this hack, so i can use my 10-18 lens in my GH5 and G9 cameras. Fingercrossed!
Hi, thanks for your video and advices about screws. Do you know if there would be an adapter for the EF-S 17-55mm f 2.8 ? I can't find one
I'm not sure. I've only seen a few for certain lenses. It would be cool if there was a universal mount adapter for any EF-S lens
What is that adapter called?
would this adapter work on a canon efs 10-22mm lens? im trying to mount that lens on my speed booster and im not sure if this would solve my problem.
I don't believe so as this adapter was specific to the Canon EF-S 10-18mm lens but I found this: amzn.to/3AbHgpY which says it's specific to the 10-22mm. Hope that might be a solution to you.
It’s still an EF-S and will vignette on full frame cameras. The polycarbonate plastic is actually very durable and will not be affected by heat or cold unlike metal which will expand and contract.
Right, the adapter doesn't change any optics/perceived field of view unlike a speedbooster. The metal will only expand and contract under extreme temperature conditions that lenses will hardly ever find themselves in.
Dou you know if there's a 18-135mm IS USM adapter like the 10-18mm that you show in your video?
Not that I'm aware of but you could always look on ebay see if you can find anything.
еВау : EF-S To EF Mount Adapter For Canon EF-S 18-135mm f3.5-5.6 IS Half Frame Lens. item number:404770327832 . Works great on Canon 6Dmark 2 with 1.4x Kenko teleconverter 25 mm - 189 mm . Kenko Teleconverter Teleplus HD 1.4X DGX Canon EOS EF-S mount 835654 KE-KHD14C ( EF / EF-S mount ) Also works with 55-250 EF-S STM , Canon 28-135, Sigma 12-24, Tamron 70-300, Canon 70-200 L IS USM e.t.c.
Doesn't work with Canon 50/1.4 - the camera gets blocked and freezes!!!!!! You need to remove the battery and connect it after 10-15 seconds. I tried 2 times and stopped! DO NOT EXPERIMENT!
50/1,4 + Canon 7D + teleconverter = works poorly, twitches, no sharpness! The picture is blurry. Probably the teleconverter is not friendly with this lens!
does this work for CANON 24-105 EFS to EF mount?
The 24-105mm Canon lens is purely EF mount I believe so no it wouldn't. Correct me if I'm wrong.
I saw another video who changed the mount Metal Bayonet Mount EF-S to EF Repair Parts Lens Converter Adapter for Canon 10-18mm f/4.5-5.6 is Lens Digital SLR Camera Lens
He also recommended to use the screws that came with the canon lens not the ones that come with the new adaptor.
There's a reason why many are saying it. The screws that come with this adapter mount are a complete no-go.
Did can fix to canon m50 mark 2 without adapter?
The M50 I believe uses a different mounting system in conjunction with Canon's mirrorless mounts so the EF or EF-S mounts will need to be adapted.
@@hunsakermedia ok thank you
Does the f stop open up wider ?
It doesn't. If you're pairing it with a speed booster you're going to get some more light but the adapter on the lens itself isn't going to change anything except your mounting abilities and longevity.
@@hunsakermedia actually just did this modification! It went from a f4.5 to a f3.5 !!
Get the stamdard adapter instead of a speed booster
Do you still have autofocus?
Yes. The adapter allows the lens' electronic contact points which means AF will work and any other automatic functions.
