I use old candles as planters! Once the candle has burnt down I use boiling water to get rid of the old wax then I have a pretty glass jar perfect as a decorative pot for small plants :)

The sponge for cuttings is so clever! If you just cut a slit in the side of it when you get them out you could always reuse it too.

I got a tip about the sponge technique: You don't have to poke holes in it, but tu make some cuts through it. YOu can push the stems through the cuts. Tey will stay in place with ease. The advantages are: You will not hurt the fine roots, while trying to take the plant out of the sponge. Also you can resuse the sponge for several times with ease.

The sponge and cinnamon tip is inspired. This channel makes me want to get back into growing again. Respect.

It's almost 3 a.m. and I found this channel. Just started propagating plants to put in a yard sell this summer. These are such helpful instructions. Have an old glass coffee pot in my garage that I will be using. I love this channel. Everything is 👍

My coffea Arabica plant is in a grow pot inside of a large coffee mug! It was definitely fitting! I use champagne flutes that had never been used for water props, the narrow top prevents them from sliding in and rotting and they're skinny enough they can fit right in under the lights next to the mother plant!

So, Morticia Addams knew what she was doing when she snipped the heads of her roses 🤔🌹😂 great tip btw, I'm going to try it.

Wonderful stuff 💚 A really nice free source of rooting hormone is Pothos. I've found a small cutting helps other plants root like mad. Even my snow rose! With a little devil's ivy in the water, the snow rose cuttings don't even drop leaves.

I bought a set of carbide drill bits (diamond bits work too) so I can add drainage holes to anything I want to use as a planter; it wasn't too expensive (less than $20 CAD, assuming you already have a drill) and can drill through ceramic, stoneware, et c. For earthenware/terra cotta, I use masonry drill bits.

I use old plastic fast food cups as pots! I have peperomias and ivy growing in taco bell cups lol. I also use an old Styrofoam egg carton with holes poked in the bottom to propagate lots of succulents at once
