I always watch your videos and find them very useful. One thing I don't agree with is leaving plants in their pots for 12months before looking at them. I have brought many plants from retail outlets and found that they have been potted in the wrong compost. Just an observation.
Great tip: When propagating in water, add a pothos cutting in the same water. Your original cutting will grow roots twice as fast. Try it!
I have become more comfortable with dealing with my plants thanks to you..much appreciated
Love the way you cut them roots! Plants are much more resilient than people think, when given the right conditions to grow. I live in a very dark one window apartment, in rainy Oregon. I have to supplement with lots and lots of pendant grow lights😎! This lets me propagate year-round!
One thing I've discovered is that any "tricky" diva plant I have (yes, looking at you calathea) is sorted by taking it out of the soil and putting it in a jar of water. I love moving my plants into water actually, they are just so much easier to look after!
I do agree with you about keeping your new plants in their nursery pots! So many people can’t wait to get a plant home and change it’s pot. It’s just mean, in my opinion. I’m not afraid to prune my plants when they need it, but I’ve never cut the roots! That’s pretty scary! Maybe I’ll try it this spring and summer.
I can't thank you enough for sharing all these housgardner tipps with us. At least for me, those helped a lot.
Another thought provoking video, thank you - I really appreciate your content. I've been contemplating setting up grow lights for my riparian plants, and you've confirmed that my instincts are correct. 🙏
Love your show!! Extremely helpful! Keep up the fabulous work 🥰
Nice video. I live in the Philippines and still kill my tropical plants lmao
My Hoya carnosas have been in their 4 inch nursery pots and same soil for a full three years. They grow like crazy and I have to keep trimming them. I just had four snow white leaves this week on one plant!
Saw and saved the first videos of yours last night. Subscribed then and today spent time rearranging the living room to get more room for plants! Yay! I feel more comfortable with the desire for more plants with your well presented info. 😊😸💖
I have three boxed out south facing windows and I have mirrors on the sides of the window box and even added an extra shelf for plants in the middle… the sun isn’t really filtered… but my plants have been acclimated and are very happy … even my calathea! I rotate them almost every day and give most distilled water :)
Excellent video Sheffield. Very informative. Well done.
I have a hacksaw that I use to chop off the bottom few inches of my severely rootbound outdoor/landscape plants. It’s so much easier! They are sometimes so jam packed with barely any soil left in some, especially the ones you get cheap in the fall that sat in pots all summer!
If I only knew these plant tips 5 years ago 👉

Another great video! You are by far my favorite planty CZcams channel! :)
