shout out to default cube for providing the splash and rain!
у меня не было цели найти хорошие и забавные туторы, но у этого парня был путь к моему сердцу
OOOHH looks so beautiful!!! Waiting for this ❤
Thank God, after requesting for the preview video, I'm soo~~ excited for this ❤
Me coming for the rain tutorial and staying for the conversations with the Default cube 😂😂
Nice tutorial mate, thanks!!
YOU ARE INCREDIBLE!!!! Thank you so much for this tutorial it is beautiful! I subbed instantly once I found you! I cant wait to see what more you do and watch all your videos! You are so talented and AMAZING!
Looks amazing ❤
This is so cool. Nice work!
this is great! I made a procedural rain thing a month or so ago and it was using pretty much exactly the same method. Pretty neat!
Absolutely brilliant!! I'm blown away every time you upload!
Sheeshh! Thank you for your kind words Comfee! 😊❤️
I like to try a bunch of new ideas for a video, and I don't know if the videos are gonna be better than the last one or not, but I try to anyways 😂
As a senior student suffering with my Thesis, I have to thank you so much for the content you created it saved me so much time and made my thesis look great. Looking forward to more work!
This is beyond amazing! Tawan, forke, Cgdash and comfee mug is the only good anime blender gurus showing us real good hidden gems! ❤ these people deserves more than a thank you! Im so glad i came across you on mr.forkes discords and showing wonders on discord.
Cant wait to see what you bring more to the table! And cant wait to show off my future projects i have prepared alone
Thank you so much! ❤❤
They are actually a big inspiration for me to create my own CZcams channel. So, yeah without you guys and the awesome community, I wouldn't be here. ☺❤
So excited for this! Can't wait to see it!!
Thank you Comfee! 😊❤
I can finally enter my Makoto Shinkai Era 😢❤

i cant wait to try to this!!!!
Thanks a lot!! Finally 🎉 🎉
Thank you for sharing this tutorial 🙏💖
No problem 😊❤️
Holy! What a great technique and thanks for the project file.
You're very welcome! ❤️
Tawan Sunflower I really like your way of doing things, don't try to give all the work already done, you make others also learn from the process through your explanation and your good humor. Thank you very much. I hope you continue like this and that you do very well in what you do.
Aww. I think my humor is a little sketchy 😂
But thank you so much for your kind words!! ❤️
I'm so glad that these shader + geometry node-based stuff is becoming so much more accessible!! you, celestialmaze, erindale, and CGmatter are all so good at opening this knowledge up for people to make what they love and I respect it so much
Thank you so much for your kind words! 😊❤️
I agree. Those people are absolute masters when it comes to geometry nodes, but I'm simply just playing with geometry nodes tho 😂
For example, the rain tutorial is a result of just randomly guessing and trying a bunch of methods until one works.
@@tawansunflower seeing people experiment and see what they get out of it and learn is really cool, it's like proof that messing around and doing stuff for fun still gets you somewhere haha
It looks abolutely beautiful!
Thank you! 😊❤️
thank you for this!!
I was waiting for his tutorial for so long bro !!!!!
Thanks brother
Thank you!! ❤️ And sorry that it took so long! 😭
hey man, thanks for the tutor, it helps me so much on creating my final project for college, cheers!
Love it ! Looks amazing i wanna try it
I'm glad you like it 😊❤️
This is exactly what I was looking for!!!! Thank you so much for your videos, very interesting and informative content, incredibly structured and relaxed presentation greatly contributes to the study of the material, I wish you great success in all your endeavors)))
I'm so glad to hear that! Thank you!! ❤️
Excellent video
wow brother thank you so much for this tutorial this is realy helpful so much
This was a great tutorial. I felt a little upset, at first, about the node groups, but after having some experience in those weird things, I can understand why Tawan packed them into some groups. At very least he gave those groups with the tutorial file so, if you have the time and understanding, you can pick apart what he did in them.
I had to alter a little bit here and there, but after that I have turned this into something I can test against other rain tutorial things. (Which were often a lot harder to follow or their end result only worked in that singular type of setting).
Also, Tawan, you got me hard with that ending with the Default cube. That was honestly touching as heck. ^^
Yeah 😂 Took me some time to think of how to end the video about rain. I'm glad you like it 😊❤️
I try to make geometry nodes easy to learn for everyone, so that they can achieve great results faster 👍 But yes, eventually those nodes inside the node groups will become very important in the long run.
That beautiful ending was the cherry atop a delicious cake. Hope everything goes well for you and you have a good rest brother! Your tutorials are always gold and your videos always a pleasure
Thank you Mr. Forke! ☺️❤️
Thanks for tutorial❤❤
No problem! 😊❤️
Amazing!
Thank you! 😊❤️
thank you for making a tutorial also!
Thank you so much!!
Yeah baby!
I was looking up how to do this style of rain, saw your previous video and thought, "Wouldn't it be good if he made a tutorial?" I return a week later, and here we are!
VEYR VERY HELPFUL THANK YOU
That’s what I’m looking for thx
awesome bro!!
Thanks! ✌️
thank you so much💖💖💖💖💖💖
Gran trabajo saludos desde méxico
That's so awesome!!🤩 Thank you very much for this well explained and fun tutorial! And thank you so much for the file on Gumroad! I can't wait to make a scene with your rain system! I will tag you on CZcams when I will post it! For now I share this tuto on my insta! Thanks a lot 🙏 💯🤜🤛
Aww! Thank you so much!! 😊❤️ And thank you for sharing my art too!

Sheeshh! Let me know when you finish making the scene ❤️
so amazing tutorial for me (beginer)
Thanks bro
quá tuyệt luôn bạn ơi, cảm ơn rất nhiều
I'm so honored to be the 1 thousandth liker of this masterpiece
Let's go! 😂 Thank you so much for the support! ❤️❤️
woahhh nice one🔥
excellent video! see you soon buddy
life savior, btw would you be able to do a blender basics or smth like that?
Hmm. Like Geometry nodes basics? Maybe, but I need to think of a fun way to teach it because geo nodes is super hard 😂
@@tawansunflower im honestly content and happy with whatever you will post!
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
สอนดีมากเลยครับ 😁😁
ขอบคุณครับบ 🙏❤️
Itd be nice if you showed the insides of those groupnodes. Would make this a lot easier to follow along with. I cant figure out how to do the "Hit age" that youve in the Raycast group.
Edit: I dont want to download files. Especially from Gumroad, the interaction cost of that site is way too high.
Unique and spectacular work, can rain be transformed into hail?
Absolutely! 👍
Bro how you made that 'create geometry node'
Hi Tawan Sunflower, thank you so much for your tutorial; the results are really beautiful! I have a little question for you. I'm trying to add some objects to the scene just like your video, but the floor isn't capturing the objects' shadows. How did you achieve that result?
Sorry for the late reply! If you still need help with that, can you message me on Twitter? I'll try my best to help you!
Nice tutorial, i have a question the splashes is under the plane when i added the raycast+. How can fix that? I cant figure it out.
Thank you for a great tutorial! I have a question, can you tell me how to fix the rain in the Raycast+ part as it goes through the floor? This part keeps getting stuck.
I believe it's a bug for Blender 4.0 and lower. Try plugging a node called "Position" into the Source Position input of the Raycast+ node. It should solve the bug 👍
@@tawansunflower Wow! It's settled. Thank you so much for answering my question
Almost too easy babyyy
Thank you for consistently providing rich and detailed tutorials. You are not only a teacher with unique skills but also a humorous and engaging sharer. I hope to reflect the value of your knowledge in my work and pass on your spirit of sharing to more people.
As a creator who is diligently learning geometry nodes, I am very curious about how you design such clear geometric node logic. My independent design process is always filled with mistakes and loopholes, making it difficult to achieve the clear logic showcased in your videos. I hope to get your guidance on this matter.
How did u created that custom node "create rain"?
Why am I getting emotional about the default cube!?
can someone help me why after i change from normal Raycast to Raycast+ it breaks the collision????
i got the same problem
This problem usually occurs because the required version to use the Do It with Me file is 4.1+. If you use an older version of Blender to open the file, the Raycast+ node will be broken.
Thanks for the detail you put into this, great work. I hate to be "that guy" but as soon as I hook the raycast+ node up as per the video I lose collision on the plane. I've been through this video a bunch of times from scratch but always get the same result. Has anyone got any ideas on what I am overlooking? I know it's going to be stupidly simple...
Happy to help! 😊❤️ Are you using Blender 4.1+?
Oh wow, thank you! Yes, 4.1 and 4.1 Goo Engine.
Thank for this great tutorial, I have got it to work but some of my rain is still points, not instances. Any idea why? Thanks.
Sorry for the late reply! If you still need help, can you dm me on Twitter? I'll try my best to help you! 😊
@tawansunflower Thankyou. I am working on another animation right now, but will get back to you if I still have problems.
what are the components inside the custom create rain node?
YOOOOOO
hey, whenever the rain falls for me its under the platform and not over it, do you have any tips to fix this issue?
Hmm. Did you fix the issue? If not then you can contact me via Twitter. I can take a look at it 👍
Amazing tutorial! I love your presentation. I do have one issue I can't figure out, though...
Even after applying your material node setup to each rain and splash object, my meshes look different from the emitted rain. The meshes have the crisp, white outline seen in your video, but the rain coming from my emitter has no outline at all. I've tried adjusting the point and world lighting, and editing the material node of the meshes DOES change the emitted rain, but they still look different...
The only difference I could find is that I'm using EEVEE instead of Goo Engine, but my meshes (in the same viewport) look good while the emitted rain doesn't.
I'm at a loss!
Hmm I can help you! Can you dm me your shader node setup on Twitter? I'll take a look at it. 👍
Tawan helped fix my issue!
I ended up having to disconnect the "age" attribute section by muting the first multiply node it was connected to in the material shader.
We currently have no idea why this worked... but if he figures it out, he can elaborate if he wants. I'm just a beginner.
😅
Sir sir sir your r great Pearson.
My joy tears are coming from my eyes. Your videos are out of the world.
For Raycast+ the rain goes through the floor, so I added "Position" in source position like you replied in comments but now no splash animation
Hmm can you send me the file on twitter? I can take a look at it
@@tawansunflower I got it to work, thank you. also was wondering how to increase speed of rain fall etc thanks
@@cydu You can adjust that by changing the Combine XYZ node that makes the rain falls in the negative Z direction in the video. 👍
@@tawansunflower thank you, also I was wondering in your $10 pack, if the ripples etc were models (If I can remesh the ripples into blocks) thank you again
@@cydu No. In the advanced version, every ripple is a simple circle generated with geometry nodes. If you want to use a custom shape, you'll have to modify the geometry nodes 👍
I labled very part of the geo node, so it should be very easy to modify. You can always contact me if you have any question. ❤️
This in SOOOOOOO deautiful😢
Thank you!! ❤️ I'm glad you like it!
I made the custom node but i cannot see mesh and direction stuff what should I do?
Sorry for the late reply! If you still need help, you can send me a dm via twitter 👍 I'll try my best to help you!
🎉🎉may I ask what original nodes is the “create rain”nodes based on? I am trying to follow the tutorial from scratch without any preset file.( It’s super kind of you prepare for us of course😊)
Thank you! ❤️ You can select the Create Rain node and press Tab. This will shows all the nodes inside the node group 👍
@@tawansunflowerI send pictures to your twitter, I hope it doesn’t bother you! 🙏
Sorry just saw the file “only works for 4.1”, I’ll try again 😵
hi, I recently downloaded your painterly cloud setup...it's awesome! it's just that whenever I make clouds using your geometery nodes setup...those cloud plains cover up the entire space infront of the camera...lets say I wanna make a scene where a jet is flying over a layer of clouds...so I make the clouds using the cloud shader and geometry nodes...but when I place a jet over it, it just falls behind those cloud plains...unlike your 'painterly brush' setup where the plains are actually on the object rather than stacking up infront of the camera...and again...your cloud shader's really stunning...it's just that every object I place infront of it gets hid cuz of the stacking of all those plains...is there any solution to this...or a workflow I can use to manage this situation..I would love to hear back from you as soon as possible 😃and thanks again for creating such awesome stuff for artists like us 🙂
In the Geometry node, there should be a Set Position or a Translate Instances node (I'm outside so I cannot remember. Sorry 😭) which is responsible for translating the cloud towards the camera removing the z-fighting artifacts. You can disable that node and it should work. However, it must be noted that you may see some z-fighting artifacts while moving the camera.
@@tawansunflower wow I just disabled the Set Position node and it actually works now even though there's a slight decrease in density & that fluffiness around the edges...but it's still looking good & I can adjust the density using geometry nodes modifier anyways...thanks a lot bro ^_^
Bro when I switched it to Raycast+ the collision wouldnt happend, like it just pass through. Does this have to do with my version? I use Blender 4.0
I just download and try the newest, still no collision? Is there perhaps something I missed? Because it work just fine previously with Raycast normal, just no animation.
Sorry for the late reply! If you opened the Do It with Me file in Blender 4.0 already it will breaks the Raycast+ node.
Im a newbie, but how do you have the node "Creata Rain", watched your tutorials but couldn't understand that node. Can you tell me how to make it ?
Create Rain node is a node group. A node group can be created by selecting some nodes and pressing ctrl + g. You can go inside the Create rain node by pressing Tab on the node to see what nodes is inside. 👍
@@tawansunflower Understood, Thank you so much!! Btw, you did a great work ❤️
Hi Tawan, I was trying to do it but when I try to change the Raycast for the Raycast+ the target stops working and it doesn't do the animation or anything, the rain crosses the plane of the floor
Hmm check if you are using Blender 4.1 or not. It's a requirement for this file.
@@tawansunflower First I was running it on version 4.0, modifying the parameters a little to make it work for that version, then I thought the same as you, maybe it was the version and I moved the node sequence to 4.1 and still nothing gives me an error but I did I'm going to do Try again. Today we will see what happens and I will tell you how it went.
@@tawansunflower Hello it's me again I hope you have a very good day or night or I don't know the important thing is that you are having a good time hahaha I tried again and I already rectified that the version is 4.1 and I did it again until I tried to use the raycast+ when starting with the node but I don't understand why when I connect the raycast+ the target stops working, you know before suddenly solving it. I would like to know what happens because it stops working when I put Raycast+ on. but I can't even solve my question and it doesn't even get resolved properly all of a sudden hahaha, but I don't think that will discourage me from continuing to try to solve it.
@@ElQ143 Hmm I believe when you opened the file in Blender 4.0 initially it may have broken the Raycast+ node group because the Switch node was updated and Default Values for the node input wasn't implemented yet in 4.0. Can you send me your node setup on Twitter? I'll take a look at it for you 👍
@@tawansunflower
Hi Tawan, sorry for bothering you again but I already managed to get it to work but you have the raindrops colliding below the plane but I don't know what else you do unless I managed to make them collect thanks for every video you make it's very exciting when you upload a new video
I love the tutourial it works without any issues in EEVEE but when I try to use it in Cycles for some reason it renders the point cloud as spheres. Even when I connect the geometry to the Instances On Points node it still renders spheres. I have no clue how to fix this, if anyone has recommendations or fix for this it would be legendary.
You have to create a new material that's just Transparent BSDF, and you can use a Set Material node to set the material of those points to the material you created. 👍
@@tawansunflower thanks for the help using a set material worked. You have to add it after the Set Position node that goes from the Selection output of the Separate Geometry node. I was stuck on this for a while(new to geonodes)thanks for the help.
Ok so tell me thi how you guys come up with these ideas ??
Sometimes by randomly trying a bunch of ideas until one works 😂
can it work on blender 3.6
Are you... Constantly creating new points?
If you leave this running you're gonna run out of memory. You just delete points after a while, or, better, just teleport points back to the top and reuse them.
The Raycast+ secretly takes care of that (It deletes old points) 👍👍
Is there a way to recreate this in Unreal Engine?
It can be exported to game engines but it will loose the ability to rotate the leaves towards the camera. You will have to implement the same logic but with the game engine of your choice.
how do i give you my life savings
You don't have to 😂
It's free and always will be ❤️
Tried just now BUT got stuck at - CREATE RAIN node. It's not available in Blender 4.1 😨
Hmm. It should be in the [Do It with Me] file I provide on Gumroad. The file doesn’t contain the node group?
thats awesome ╰(*°▽°*)╯ thank you!
content dee mak kub!
Thank you kub! 😊❤️
This is stylized rain. Not very realistic looking. But good for anime style. To the creator , Thank you for Blender tutorials. Please slow down AND show ENTIRE Node setup at some point in the video. Not just pieces and parts on the screen. it would be better to see that whole completed node setup at the end so people can fix anything they might have missed.
Ouu Thanks for the suggestion! I'll put the full node setup in the Gumroad download page.
Hey I think my default cube is broken. It isn't automatically solving my problems :/
Hmm.. It takes sometime to mater deleting the default cube. But you can do it! I believe in you! 😂
Create rain???
Yeah its also not showing in my system too
