Some time in April 2022 this video came across my CZcams feed and the next day I signed up for flying lessons. My biggest challenge turned out to be getting the FAA medical certificate (thyroid cancer survivor). I persevered and got my PPL April 2, 2023 and bought a Cessna 182 a month later. My IFR check ride is scheduled in November and I’m planning on Commercial, CFI,CFII after that. Flying has been a life long dream and I finally realized it at 43 years old. Now my family and I enjoy flying cross country to visit friends/family and going to fly-ins and air shows. We are planning on going to Oshkosh in 2024, hopefully my two girls catch the aviation bug 🤞. Thanks for giving me the motivation to follow my dreams.
It really doesn't look that difficult BUT I know it is.......
happy birthday!!@@michaelt3308
so happy for you!!!
yes ok@@segan9905
Pretty much my story too (except I'm about a year behind you). Congrats! And thanks Stevie for inspiring us.
One of things that is impressive about Stevie is that she doesn't hesitate to ask a controller to repeat an instruction; safety before ego.
Well, it's the guys that tend to put ego in first seat.
And everyone knows ladies will ask directions before the man will.
@@jameslanning8405 ego it's important too, that why men have accomplished a thousand and thousand wonderful things and women have not.
@@michaelsullivan3549 Ego has killed more pilots than mechanical failures.
@@geberhart000 ego doesn’t kill. Ignorance does..
@@michaelsullivan3549 says someone who has probably not accomplished anything
I love the way the checklist is done, it's all spoken through and pointed at along the way
I love that HOT BABE!! LOL
The Japanese originated the point and articulate checklist method for Japan Railway. It’s extremely effective in enhancing the function of the checklist and one of many reasons why JR is both safe and on time. Love seeing Stevie use the method. That’s one smart woman…
What she says is on auto?
Checklists equal safety. Well done.
Imagine being bored and take off to see your friend on another island using your very own plane. This is how crazy life can be
yeah not likely this is in the wheelhouse of many "normal" folk
If you end up w/ 6 figures, sure. the house is prolly like 700k and the plane probably hundreds of thousands. A plane with gears like that are basically a luxury. I've never flown one with retractable gear.
@@quintit yeah it's insane how out of reach splurging on a pilot license is for most people.
@@quintit - Seems to me, if you want to make the big bucks, then you can, if you FIND a way to get trained for something that pays well. It's work to do so - I know that from personal experience - but in general, I've found that if you want something badly enough, you will find a way to get it. It won't be easy, and it won't necessarily be quick, but it can be done if you are willing to work at the training and be disciplined enough to learn what you need to learn. It took me a dozen years of going to school part time while working to earn a living, raising a young child, and dealing with a marriage that definitely was NOT made in heaven, but I did it, and graduated with a B.S. in computer engineering when I was 35 years old. If I can do it, so can you!
@@andrewbauer5201 most people don't put all their effort into achieving their goals. i mean this chick clearly ate off a silver spoon, but just saying.
Can’t imagine the number of young women you are going to inspire. Great job!
none? How many random women are going to see such videos? TIme to start sharing.
@@americanswan as if someone has any women they are socially connected with that are thinking of learning how to fly, have the money, the time, and interest. Almost none. These people are almost always born into it. May as well be thinking you alone can inspire someone to be an astronaut.
Yea, “AOPA live” videos don’t even hardly reach a whisper of interest every week and this one is already over a hundred thousand views. Somebody over there needs to figure out that old men flying planes is just boring as fk and no one cares but a cute girl in shorts can make millions easily.
What's up with all these negative Nancy's in the replies?
@@PurtyPurple haters seem to be everywhere
I am a man of 60 years of age, I have had a fear of flying since a long time ago. on every trip, not being able to sleep, stomach ache and panic seemed to be the most frightening qualities that I had. but by looking at your flight and how you cope with flying, for the first time could travel with much less fear. I want to thank you very much from my heart. Wishing you all the happiness and success for you
I was on Flight Simulator the other day and decided to fly around Cedar point and decided to land on an island runway. As I landed I kept thinking it looked really familiar. When I reached the end of the runway I recognised the house and remember watching this video.
This woman seems like a very conscientious and safe pilot. I love her attention to the checklist.
I"m 75 now and was in Army Aviation in Georgia and in Vietnam.
My dad had a Piper Tri-Pacer when I was a kid and we flew to Texas and Oregon many times. He even bought a Tri-Pacer that had been flipped in a windstorn and bought spars and fabric, rebuilding it himself. The neighbors would come over and have a beer in the back yard as dad was shrinking the fabric to the completed wings with a hot plate. He paid a lot of attention to the checklist and, in the air, we were all tasked with watching for other planes.
My wife wondered why I wasn't bored flying with Stevie from Michigan to Camarillo. I think because we had flown into Albuquerque and I remember taking a long time to get over the mountains when we departed. The Tri-Pacer wasn't a very powerful aircraft but easy to fly.
as a wanna be pilot, this was NOT boring. Watching you be so professional, and proficient on a fun trip is inspiring. This is a very cool video.
Love how professional she is with her checklist usage and procedures! Also unbelievably cute.
I don't know protocols being a pilot, but she sounds like astronaut level on checklist procedure, it's cool!
@@haldyordan2316 Sounds like she learned from the guy who flies in Papua New Guinea. They use the same type of procedure.
Yeah but you know she wears overalls to do that stuff when the cameras aren't on.
@@goodlookinouthomie1757 if you cant contain yourself when a women wears shorts and a tank you should get some help fam.=
@@dm1972 That isn't my point, obviously. I only clicked because I saw a hot chick on the thumbnail and so did you.
I love that she narrates everything that she does. Big W!
I haven't flown since my son was born in 1985 but I watch a lot of flying videos on CZcams because I miss it so much. I really enjoy watching Stevie. She looks so small in the cockpit and flies that hot Bonanza as though she was born in it! She handles herself with aplomb and self-confidence. You go girl! Keep your wonderful videos coming.
@StevieTriesenberg I Saw your trip to Oshkosh and have been so damn inspired to get my license. When I was 16 & finished my chemo for Hodgkin's I started flying with my uncle. He passed away a few years later and no one else in the family could fly so they sold his plane, and because I wore glasses and was "Sick", I let people tell me I could not do this for a living. I am 50 now and as I go through my ground school lessons and the 3 hours in the air thus far, I want to leave my job, get my PPL, get my instrument rating & commercial license and somehow turn this passion into a career. All because of you and that interview with the FAA and your CZcams and the clever TikToks. SO THANK YOU for inspiring an old man to reset his life and live his passion. You are my inspiration.
Great story Joseph! Your words written here will inspire many who themselves are looking to change their lives. I wish you good health and clear skies my friend, may you find a way to live this everyday!
So many incredible creators to inspire us. I’m glad you found one that pushed you over the line. Best of luck to you!!
It's never too late my friend. Don't let anyone discourage you! That's the worst mistake you can make. My family never supported me when I was younger and now that I am old enough to save up money with or without their support I am striving towards my passion which is to become an airline pilot. Good luck my friend.
Dude, awesome that you're getting your PPL. A bit of advice, if I may: please DO NOT underestimate recreational flying. Don't go thinking that professional flying is a must in order to fulfill your flying aspirations. I'll let you in on a little secret: professional flying is, at the end of the day, a job. Like most jobs, it can (usually does) get old after a while. Recreational GA flying is where it's at. Go get a tailwheel endorsement, or a glider rating or seaplane rating. Go tow gliders, go flight instructing. There are so many way cool things to do in GA.
Watching a pro at work here. Any pilot who tells me they loves the check list is my kind of pilot. Thanks for sharing.
I see guys not do their checklists all the time. One guy almost crashed a few weeks ago. He tried taking off with 30 degree flaps. It was a super close call.
Beautiful flight, excellent landing and most of all your safety checks and rechecks out loud are a great example for us learning pilots. Thank you!
Miss Stevie, with your great smile its never boring to ride along with your videos. Safe home, always.
I grew up flying with a family friend in his 1956 Bonanza. Such good times. Glad you are out there keeping the dream alive. Blue skies!
Living the dream Stevie. You totally rock as a very professional pilot, I'm sure there are a number of viewers who would love to be in your situation. I am rather at the other end age wise (68) but get my kicks flying a paramotor. Love the channel. x
Didn't you hear?? 68 is the new 48!!

Thanks for the ride along...Great video..
I enjoy listing to you on how you go through all of your checklists verbally and you fly the plane so naturally and your are amazing
You are so awesome, what a boss. I love how you are doing something that I never would even consider (because i’m pretty much terrified of everything) and you seem so calm and chill as if it’s no big deal.

Absolutely agree :D This video gave me the same hopeful feel :)

Her videos make the viewer feel good!
I am always impressed at how Stevie handles her flight. I love that she speaks through all checklist, ask for repeats and is clear with her communication. I hope that my future instructor will turn me into Stevie, because right now I am confused on all lingos
Thank you for sharing love this little air aventures
As an avgeek, I thought it was pretty cool to see someone at such a young age fly such a great bird. You inspire so many people with your content. I even fly in flight simulators so I will see what it will be like once I fly in the real world.
Never boring… You are so polished it’s a joy to see and hear. The proficiency you demonstrate is a goal we all want to strive for. And I have to comment, what a very calm and collected pilot.
Amazing, Thanks for the Video.

What a fun day! I love your commitment to checklists.
For 15 minutes, I took time out of busy, normal life to share this relaxing and beautiful journey. I only know it wasn't a dream because I could see it with my own eyes!
And to top things off, the quote of the day: "and there's my friend's house"!!

Really excellent video, the consistent and meticulous attention to planning, checklists and details is outstanding.
You do an awesome job making aviation cool to young people. Keep up the great work!
Excellent video quality. Beautiful scenery. Great flying.
Super! Thanks for sharing! Good day!

just another day , visting a friend, via a god damn airplane, totally relatable
You are such a precise pilot. I really enjoy watching you fly, Stevie.
Seriously she is!! When she said “we love a good checklist” I said yesssss 😂
Seriously so much fun to watch! You are living the life sister! 👍🏻👏👏👏👏
This was so cool....Loved your order and process...so safe!
Absolutely love these videos. It's so rare to be able to see all the practicalities like pulling
the aircraft from the hangar and the checklists
including physically checking the exterior.
Such a great plane. Those old Bonanzas are really special.
You are amazing! Love watching you fly.
Yes,I often wondered weather small craft pilots could listen to music and use their phone. Thanks for sharing that.😁
Just caught your move to Cali video part 1 and so thought I'd check this out, not realizing it was Kelly's island until I started it. As a 9 yr old standing at the fence watching planes fly over my head I was fascinated. Out of all the vacations and States we traveled to. Kelly's island will always be the vacation I cherish the most for many reasons, one being riding around in a golf cart and standing at that runway. I can't wait to see more videos.
You're an excellent pilot, definitely living the dream!
def not a boring video!! I love it!!
I'm a 68-year-old woman who was fascinated by planes as a kid (my aunt and uncle lived just off the runway of an Air Force base); I wish there had been a Stevie in my life to show me that a girl could fly, too! Keep up the great work - there ARE plenty of young girls who are finding their way into the cockpit, despite what the greybeards would like to believe; the world changes, and you're helping to make that happen. Be safe, and be well, and keep doing what you love!
Tricia, there IS a Stevie in your life, you've watched her! And not only COULD a girl fly, but a girl CAN fly, even at 68! Go get started!
Must be incredible living off a runway! Awesome video, thank you
That was very fun to watch! Good pilots make it all look so easy.😊
God bless you😍 Thank you for showing the world a portion of your amazing life. It looks so fun
I've only just found this... and I think it might be my instant new favourite channel. It's like a Miyazaki film come to life. Everything about it is just magical.
it was fun watching you live the dream… I stayed through the whole video I love the Bonanza and all aircraft . The closest I got was around six hours stick time with friends… But I love aviation so I build and fly radio control. I never got my license but I still maintain the dream in other ways. You look excellent behind the controls very very efficient and cautious. Your a great pilot. a personal thank you for sharing this flight with me
Wow... Awesome to see young people enjoying life to its fullest, and girl you got some skills seriously on top of it!
Enjoyable video, thank you.❤
The care after having the “baby” back to its hangar just showed us The Love & Feeling only aces have! Congrats, from Brazil! 😉💐🍾🇧🇷
Very professional and relaxed. A pleasure to watch an aeroplane being flown well!
I'm a student pilot, and watching these types of videos keeps me motivated to continue studying hard. Engines and systems, air law, meterology, human factors ... it goes on and on... so much to remember, understand, and learn. Thanks for sharing!
Good luck with all of your training and God's speed!!!!!!
Amazing video! Love a beautiful vintage bonanza
Awesome little plane and a most careful pilot! keep that checklist going! 👍
Thanks for making these videos and taking us along with you Stevie, it's much appreciated. I hope many young girls will watch your channel and be inspired to do what you are doing, to follow in your footsteps and know that they can do whatever they want to do in life!
Gorgeous Bonanza absolutely amazing, congratulations Steve!!
Wow i'm so impressed! You are awesome!
What an amazing life you have. It's great to see a little of the destination as well. Keep up the great work and content!
That is a gorgeous plane. Even the interior looks great.
Great video and brings back good memories of fun days there. We would bring our Harley over on the ferry back in the day.
You go, girl! Very professionally done; I really like the way you stick to your checklists.
Such a pleasure watching your professionalism and confidence. And your checklist dedicated carefulness, every time. Wonderful girl. 👍🌞💙

Some of these camera shots are so nice. Great editing too. You don’t have to know how or even want to fly to enjoy these videos!
Beautiful day for a flight.....safe travels!!
Love your style! Verbally going through your checklists is a fantastic habit!
Perfect 'chirp, chirp, chirp' touchdown! Also classic 'landing-pilot-concentration-face' I do that in all my videos. :-)
The Bonanza gives so many great retro vibes... I want home decor with the same design ethos. Contemporary yet Bonanza is my requirement!
Thanks for that video, it was beautiful and chilling. 🙌🏻😁
Such a beatiful and chill time.
I’m so happy to see you living your dream. Much love Stevie 🤍
Good job talking through your preflight. I do that even when I’m alone and not recording. Talking out loud validates and confirms “Out Loud” that the settings and readings are as expected. When something is amiss it becomes more apparent since your expectation is not met when you see a wrong reading. Well done.
Awesome👍. I enjoyed watching you flying, having probably lunch and ice-cream and next cleaning your aircraft. Thanks for sharing
Wow I just love the whole vibe of this video!
I'd love to learn how to fly. I've only flown once in my life on a plane. I flew in a helicopter when I was 5yrs old, but that was 42 yrs ago... so I don't remember it really. This is only the second pilot video I've watched, and I'm impressed. And wow, that island looks really nice! What an amazing place for your friend Robbie to live. Too cool. And you are just too cute. Great job all the way around 👌 Thank you 🙏
Not sure how I stumbled across this video, but love Kelley's Island -- have visited several times to camp at the state park when our kids were young. That's the first place I've been where I've seen a stop sign and an aircraft crossing sign on the road!

You’re awesome Stevie I’m enjoying all of your videos!! I start flight training in may and I’m so excited!
Really great video. Your attention to the checklist items is what will keep “surprises” at a minimum. Best of luck in your flying career. Michael L. (H 35 Bonanza )
