Classic Game Room reviews the SNES30 Super Nintendo wireless controller and receiver from 8BitDo. CGR SNES30 Super Nintendo 8BitDo gamepad review features 8BitDo Super Nintendo Wireless Controller CZcams review footage on Super Nintendo! - Zábava
I love how Mark always stutters on the last word in his sentences and ties it in with the beginning of the following sentence
This controller is 8BITDOPE!
Great Review Mark! Keep the Video game reviews coming!
I just got mine and i love it. It's so accurate.
A MUST BUY!
Hyperkin, take notes!
Great review! Wow, I wish this existed back in the day...it would've saved many people from tripping over wires during a long Street Fighter session lol.
I got the Super Famicom variant of this and it's incredible. Feels like I'm playing with a brand new Nintendo made controller from 1990 in many ways. Played through all of Mother 3 with it recently
Mark.. again, thank you for signing my t-shirt, although I'm not Irish, my country is pretty close to it... thank you... keep up the good work, and this controller has got me drooling!!
I'm picking one of these up for sure.
I own a SNES30 (the game pad in the video) and I love it. Although, I had a lot of problems out of the box. You need to make sure your remote is using firmware version 4.0 or up. The three main problems I had when using the out of box firmware (Version 2.00) was that it didn't like to re-pair with devices that it was already pair to, the face buttons were not Xbox complaint, and the controller didn't like to take the top spot on controller lists (it would be "player two", so games that use only one remote would ignore it.) Updating the firmware is really easy and it makes a world of difference. (make sure to grab the new "4.0 manual" to see the new button commands)
Recently got one one these to use on multiple devices for emulators, easily one of the best controllers I've ever used. Just waiting on a Mega Drive version now!
I have the SNES30 (the one in this video) and the SFC30 (the Super Famicom-themed version) and both are awesome. I use them with my Raspberry Pi 3's built-in bluetooth, running RetroPie. Definitely the best bluetooth retro controller I've used.
I just got one of the receivers to use with the Wii U Pro Controller and my SNES. it works really well.
can you tell me if the Wii U Pro controller ZL and zr button function as the SNES L and R buttons
+M3TR01DFANBOY Im using it with both the 8bitdo controller and a Ps4 one Both work great
Got one myself a couple of weeks ago. Very happy with it! I've heard that some people have had some issues with buttons sticking after a number of months, but I'm not sure how reliable those reports are. Hopefully it holds up.
got the sfc30 early this year and it is amazing.
Got one of these not long back they are awesome
quality is impressive
makes you wanna buy one
You need more subs how can you have so little? Your channel is awesome
that dam white noise from the 1980 box tv i love it
can't wait for that mini nes
I can hear the CRT white noise through my computers speakers. Ahh the memories.
This looks dreamy AF....😱🤗
If they come up with a Sega Saturn pad variant,I'm there DAY 1!!!!!!
i'll be getting this for my Super retro trio. play all 3 systems with it.
I have the FC30 and it's just as good as a genuine Nintendo controller. Looks like the same holds true for the SNES/SFC30.
I've been thinking about the SNES all day
Beautiful!
ohh I bought the normal FC 8bitdo one a few weeks ago. Requires data-transferring wires and it could be troublesome to pair up but it looks great and if you can pair it, works fine. also, it's supposed to rhyme with Nintendo so 8-bit-doe.
Very cool
..hope they make the genesis wireless as well
that's great thank you
Hello! I just got this controller, i was wondering how to turn it off when im done playing? The blinking light on the controller never stops, thank you!
can't the receiver also connect ps3 controller to it and can't it be used on the PC to receive controllers
Greetings from central California.
Any reason this wouldn't work on a Retron 3? What do you think?
I saw on their site that it says it can connects to up to 4 controllers. Does that mean you can play 4p?
I have the Super Famicom version and I have to state that these gamepads are of very high quality. Tried some knock off gamepads with original Layout in the past but all were shitty. Even the start and select buttons have the rubbery feel of the original. The only thing I would like is some sort of special edition with two additional buttons for fast forward or simillar functions in emulators.
I really wish these guys would make a Bluetooth controller for the Genesis!!!...
Random question, what is the music in the backround. Very jassy and smooth, really like it.
You show so many things I need.
Batteries?
Its rechargeable, and you can use it wired if you forget to charge it. he also didnt mention that the reciever also lets you connect other bluetooth controllers such as: the wiimote (even with a classic controller connected to it), WiiU pro controller, ps3 and ps4 controller as well as tons of other generic bluetooth controllers.
Great!
This is fantastic.
are these controllers as easy to disassemble as the originals for cleaning and maintenance purposes??thanks.
I want them both
Really interested in this
my question is this, if I buy a bootleg english market recreation SNES game like GunHazard would it work with this aftermarket controller?
is the SN30 standard edition compatible with older Ipad minis? A friend of mine has 2 different models and when I tried to pair my SN30 with them, it was not even discovered on bluetooth.
I remember thinking a few years ago that something like this would be fantastic. Have the NES and SNES versions now. Thankfully they're not shoddy retrobit/hyperkin products.
Oatburner I’m about to buy the snes wireless controller soon. Where did you buy the original nes wireless controller at? Trying to find one for my original nes console but no luck
Here in the UK Firepower 2000 is called Super SWIV.
I was going to send you a copy!
And then they renamed it "Mega SWIV" for the Mega Drive port. The more you know!
i think i can also use my sf30Pro Controller with this snes reciever right?
I have that it is pretty cool.
Is there much lag in comparison to the original
Wired snes controller?
Any other issues?
that tv is perfect for snes games
I still have my knockoff SNES controller from the 90's gravis gamepad for the PC baby.
The one from Jazz?
I can't find any info on the controller itself. The sticker on the back just says made from China and QC passed. Similar to the generic 3rd party Genesis controller mark reviewed
Just bought this shit. Hope you didn't lie to me! But on a serious note- your content's great.
ooh i need this
can that retro wireless receiver work with fighting commander wiresless controller instead of 8bitdo??
30th Anniversary for SNES/SFC would be 2020, making this product 64 years late. I still bought the SFC version. Great pad.
I just bought the NES30 Pro for my arcade cabinet - before, i used Xbox 360 wireless controllers but that didn't feel very retro ;)
I'd be really curious so see the results playing a precision platformer like Super Mario World.
Judging by his enthusiasm, I can assume the lag is minimal.
I have the 8bitdo for switch...will it work if i get the adaptar only???
Does it work with the Retron 5?
How can you tell when it needs to be charged?? Will it blink or something? Or will that second light on the left side blink red?
Thank you captain obvious. I was asking how will I know to charge it before it quits on me. Like a PS3/PS4 controller would notify me w/ a change of light. Would hate to play a game using this thing and the only way I'll know when it needs to be charged is if it just dies. lol
Still hope they make a Genesis Controller one day.
Do they make these for the original nes? I’m about to buy two on amazon!!
I think it's pronounced 8bit-doh like Ninten-doh? *shrug* Doesn't even slightly matter.
no it isn't.
It's pronounced 8-bit-do, like " to do".
8bitdo has a bluetouth speaker on the marked that says "8-bit-do" when its turned on.
@@bernharddiener2735 So I have been saying it right.
cool !!
There is also an 8Bitdo arcade stick.
awesome...tweeted.
Does this work on pc too? Or just for the SNES console? Thanks.
Super SWIV!! Man oh man, I loved that game :D
As for the name of the controller, I always assumed it was a play on the Nintendo name.. so 8bitdo should be said as you'd say Nintendo, perhaps? :)
Tell me if this works.....Ipad, these new 2 controllers, and killer instinct. Compatible?
I want this able to pair with Wii/Wii u for virtual console
Does the adapter work on the retron 5
How long does it last before having to charge it up?
I just bought this. I'll most likely connect it to my Nvidia Shield Android TV and use to play emulators.
anyone knows if this would work with the Nvidia Shield TV?
My wife and I are both seniors and want to experience playing the entire Mario series again. We have to decide whether to wait and see if Nintendo releases a SNES Classic this year or buy a 30+ year old system (with wireless controllers and receivers added on). I see the Super Mario All Stars & Super Mario World game is available from China for $15 and in the US for $25 (as a reproduction - whatever that means). Are they the same ? Do you think the SNES Classic (if released) will feature HDMI and/or wireless controllers or will they try and keep it closer to the original ? One last question - is the older SNES Console completely compatible with the new HDTV's.
Glenn Watkins they have just announced the snes classic mini!
Thanks for the review. I'll buy it now, since my iBuffalo died
Certainly a step up from the IR SNES controller I once used which was complete garbage.
What the autonomy of the battery?
What difference between this controller and SN30?
Is this compatible with the Retron 5?
What is your all time favorite games
what are those speakers mark has?
They should make one of these for the Atari 2600 and plug them into both controller ports so we can play the games that use 2 controllers with 1 controller.
Now we need one for the PC Engine, those controllers cables are WAY too short.
Oh man. I wish I also still had my SNES hahahah
hi Mark :)
we need one of these for the atari 2600
uuugghhh I want this
Huh,the snes 30th anniversary controller?? There must be a typo because we are still 4 to 5 years left before the snes is gonna be really 30 years old,and by that time there will be a gameboy & lynx 30th annyversary too as well😁.
Please review Dinosaurs for Hire on the Sega
is there one for genesis?
does it work with the Wii?
Does it work with the Wii U?
Should be the 16BITDO :P
Ah yeah it was a joke. Thanks though.
16BITDO is only for 2-player gaming
kmfurr1 Haha
this would be great for me since i make games now :D
haha nice one.
I guess 8 was used because they started making NES controllers. They also have a N64 controller (64bitdo? duh!).
You should have tested it with street fighter
i wants one😍
I want a Super Nintendo. Do they still sell them?
Haha what? Are you some weird kid that just decided to leave his Amish community? How would you know enough about video games to end up on this video but not know enough to know the answer to that question?
Why is there a USB-port in the receiver and why comes it with a really short cable in the package?
Ok, thanx
maybe it's also for playing on pc, emulators etc.
Well, on the official website from 8BITDO, i saw this: "Retro Receiver also supports Windows (X-INPUT) MacOSX (X-INPUT) and PS3". So, it's a possibility. ( 8bitdo.com/retro-receiver-snes )
Adriaan Bestebreur
yeah windows means it does... on windows and mac :D
But the SNES hasn't been around for 30 years. It didn't release in Japan till 1990 and in the US til 91. Thats some inaccurate box info. At least for another four years. Thats if we survive that long.
thought it said 4 shoulder button design?
I was wondering the same thing
