OP5 because the song and the animation was awesome as well as it just giving general memories of the Sasuke Retrieval arc which is BY FAR my favorite part of OG Naruto. The sound 4 fights were just amazing. The only thing I didn't like about it is they let me cry for my boy Choji like that. They didn't have to pull a fast one on me like that.

I like not skipping openings cause it makes you attached to certain openings rather than just it being another song. Feeling emotions of an arc with the opening and linking the two together is something that makes anime special imo. Something about listening to an opening later again and re-feeling all those feeling you felt when you were watching the corresponding arc Also, I don't think openings are really spoilers cause they put things in that they want you to see. But it might be stuff you don't wanna see yet. I just don't think that that classifies it as a spoiler. PS. Ron's shirt is goated lmao
Its one of those that there is cons and pros. But there is definitely spoilers, which make some moments not as impactful, such as character reveals/designs or match ups...
Gets the viewer in the mood, I can see that. Timing is likely the most important part of an opening, whenever certain plot points are too obvious to predict. Unless it just tells what's going on currently, then that would be fine.

op 3 is probably my favourite opening in all of naruto, og and shippuden, it's just too nostalgic and i absolutely love the feelings it gives me, i remember loving it since i was a little kid
Mine is number 7 because of the flashbacks and what it’s showing is Narutos journey up until that point and it’s showing that his motivation was trying to be Hokage into forming a friendship with Sasuke and wanting to save him. That’s now his primary motivation even over becoming Hokage. It’s beautiful to me. And the music is too.
Opening 9 Yura Yura. Forever ago I had this entire song memorized! Still able to sing pieces watching this. Opening 7 is probably next. Fighting Dreamers is great too.

I think one of the things I liked the most about some of the openings (I think they only did it with opening 4 and 5) is that the opening was different based on how far into the arc you were. Opening 4 had two versions and the one in this compilation video is the first version from the first part of the arc where we aren’t introduced to Kisame, itachi, Tsunade, or any of the fights that happen. But the second version shows more in some of those still panels and even makes the silhouettes of jiraiya, orochimaru, and Tsunade no longer coloured out. Then open 5 has 6 different versions. Depending on where in the arc you were, the opening showed different scenes and characters, so those two openings are the ones I like the most because the thought of changing the opening based on how far in the arc you are was so neat to me.
My favourite one is the 5th opening, which actually has up to 6 versions that were changing along with the story in the episodes, and v6 is the best one imo.
Number 5 will always be my favourite. I also love that it's called 'Seishun kyousoukyoku", which basically translates to "Rhapsody of Youth", which fits into Guy's whole "springtime of youth" thing. The lyrics themselves are also so deep.
If u wanna see the artists having fun with the art style, u need see the ending, both naruto and naruto shippuden. They really having fun with the art style and visual.
I pretty much like all the openings, except for maybe a couple. Perhaps, that's why I don't remember them as much. Maybe, those were ones I skipped. The cop out favorite for me is probably the first one, because it makes me nostalgic for starting the series. One fascinating thing, when looking at the old openings, is realizing the growth of the characters, as you guys mentioned. It's also noticeable, when there's a flashback to the older shows. They really started young. Sometimes, it feels like the flashbacks are the only evidence that they were ever that young. I think the tragedy of the series, and yes some of the early team 7 bonding moments were like from fillers, is there was so much potential there, for them to become great friends, yet as far as the show is concerned, we get one major arc, the Chunin Exams, then team 7 is permanently fractured. Sometimes, one wishes to see characters have a happy childhood, but real life doesn't always cooperate. There are also some good endings that might be worth checking out. There are also some weird endings as well. I think "You can do it" from Shippuden goes very well with Number 9 from this list. They are both composed of non-spoiling choreography. One thing that makes choosing a favorite is the fact there is a good variety of music, and a good variety of images. One might like the imagery from one and prefer the music from another. I look forward to when you guys are ready to do the Shippuden openings. In my opinion, those are also stepped up a notch.

Hard to choose but Opening 5 has to be the one I liked the most, even added it to my old iPod Classic in middle school haha. Also the arc itself is my favorite (behind Zabuza/Haku arc) and the visual for the MV animation was amazing! The full song I think is what hailed it as my favorite, would recommend x)

I get how reactors have to keep a tight schedule but honestly it's never gonna be worse spoils than reading episode titles. It's made specifically for light teasing not spoiling. Everyone usually just watch it once or twice then hardly hear it a few times more during their watch. But the hype they can bring is 100% worth it. More often than not it's way too abstract to even deduce anything detrimental to the plots

With anime I listen to openings/endings fully (especially if I like the song) but I dont actually “watch” it until there are like 3 episodes left for that song. Watching anime for more than half of my life now, I’ve gotten the feel of when an opening is gonna change. If the show is 1 cour I watch the opening on episode 10 (assuming 12-13 episodes) and they usually change per cour or per arc for some long running series. Or if the show is completed/has been out for a while then I search up when the openings change. This is for shows I dont want to be spoiled about, I want to watch them completely fresh and with no expectations be it a new character joining the crew, new drip, new abilities, who fights who, etc.
you guys are missing out on a lot watching the openings before the episode. its a tradition in my home to watch the opening of every show its paying respect to the anime. It gets you hyped for the episodes and the arcs and the emotions that follow. There are no spoilers in the openings everything in the openings is something they already have alluded to.
Fighting Dreamers is crazy iconic and when I was younger it was my favourite, definitely still the most iconic intro in all of Naruto, but Haruka Kanata and the Sasuke retrieval arc intro are my 2 faves. If I had to pick only one of them... maybe the Sasuke retrieval arc intro? Ugh, it is tough to pick.

OP 3 is my all time fav OP in OG Naruto. The song and imagery captures the entirety of the show so well. Showing innocence forced to flurish in a violent and dark work. Also forshadows a lot of deaths. OP 4 next especially with the Akatsuki members reveal and Sasuke's decent into darkness. We got to see Sasori (or rather Hiruko in that OP and he always looked so interesting & creepy to me) The OP 9 is next with Naruto doing insane tae-kwon-do, wing chun against Lee and some Jiu Jutsu & dash of Judo with the grab. Her voice is amazing too. 2, 3 & 4 were so good tho

9:48 you can see sasuke's hand holding the headband with team 7 as background, meaning that he really wanted to be with them and built up some emotional thing there, but then appears orochimaru and itachi as background, and he lets it fall ..
Yura-yura was the most nostalgic for me, maybe because it marked the ending of Naruto like damnnn it really ended and we have to wait for Shippuuden. The others are pretty cool too, I like the animation for some of them.
a lot of naruto intros will actually change as things are revealed throughout different episodes, for example during the sasuke retrieval arc the intro changes about 3 times, adding characters like rock lee and gaara as they are added, which makes them even better to watch. sadly yeah once you get into shippuden some naruto intros will just outright spoil plot events like deaths a whole 10 episodes before they happen

Imagine listening to Haruka Kanata (#2) just as Lee dropped his weights and opened his gates. That is when Naruto was first hyped for me as kid.

Yura-yura was the most nostalgic for me, maybe because it marked the ending of Naruto like damnnn it really ended and we have to wait for Shippuuden. The others are pretty cool too, I like the animation for some of them.

a lot of naruto intros will actually change as things are revealed throughout different episodes, for example during the sasuke retrieval arc the intro changes about 3 times, adding characters like rock lee and gaara as they are added, which makes them even better to watch. sadly yeah once you get into shippuden some naruto intros will just outright spoil plot events like deaths a whole 10 episodes before they happen
