    Some people with iPhone did not get the V-Gate iCar2 to work with BimmerCode and that device, and some did. Just be aware.
    *** *** ***
    Here is what I used and what I could code on my 2014 BMW i3.
    * ECO Pro coding option at 5'42".
    * Christmas Theme iDrive start up at 9'22".
    I bought my "Vgate OBD2 iCar2 Wifi" from this Swedish website:
    www.teknikmagasinet.se/produk...
    Amazon has the same:
    www.amazon.com/Vgate-Scanner-...
    eBay has a bunch of them:
    www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from...
    There are a bunch of listings on eBay, most seem to be either Bluetooth or WiFi. The cheaper ones seem to be only Bluetooth. And the one I bought and used with my samsung S9 is the WiFi only one. Can't say if Bluetooth one would or wouldn't work.
    And as a reference to what I tried AND DID NOT WORK:
    www.ebay.com/itm/ELM327-WiFi-...
    Only for guidance as of what NOT TO TRY.

    This is a great video! Thank you very much for posting it. I'm just getting ready to code my i3. This video has been extremely informative. Hope you're doing well and still enjoying your i3.

    Can you reset a new battery so the car will not overload it.

    I have BMW i3 2015 BEV and i am thinking about Bimmercode, specially about function "Brake Force Display activation brake force". Can you test it for me please?

    This looks useful! About the range extender options, is there also an option to turn on the range extender earlier automatically or to turn on the range extender when your battery is totally discharged? I had this situation lately on the highway that the battery was empty and I just couldn’t turn on the range extender to charge the battery. Crazy enough I had to tow the car to a charging point.

    I installed a hitch per your other video and then a bike rack and it works great. With the one caveat that the rear parking sensors are of course always making noise when parking, because the bike rack is there. Can you use this dongle and app to disable the rear parking sensors? Because I love still having the camera but don’t need the rear sensors always chirping. Thanks!

    Hello, thanks for all the fantastic ideas for coding my i3. I recently purchased a 2018 i3 s. I tried to enable the AM radio, I love listening to talk radio, but it still does not show up on my screen. Is there anything else I need to code to get AM radio to play? My other option would be to play it on my phone and then bluetooth the radion over to the car. But I would really prefer to play it straight from the car. Hope you can help.

    Hej!

    Can Bimmercode adjust the notorious tank-pressure-sensor which often prevents the fuel flap to open on the i3-REX? Mine seems to be too sensitive an allows to open only if it is cold so that the fuel vapor condensates.

      Have you tried the depressurization sequence when opening the fuel tank? On the i3 Rex, press and hold the gas tank button (near the frunk/trunk buttons below the steering wheel) for a few seconds. You should get a display message Saying it’s safe to remove the fuel cap.

    Hello, I have a BMW i3s with all equipment, but maybe is there something wrong with the car?. The problem is that there are LEDs under the handles. You can clearly see the led, but they do not light up when in reverse gear or the welcome light. Has anyone experienced the same problem or is there something wrong with the car

      That is not something I know of or can help you with, but you should try reaching out in the Bmw i3 group on FB:

    Can you connect it to other cars as well? By the way i liked your carbon dashboard.looks great. And ı saw something behind the screen.may i ask whats that? What other modifications did you apply to your lovely I3?

    • @BasinBjorn
      @BasinBjorn  Před 4 lety +1

      I guess bimmercode & the dongle works with more cars yes, at least BMW. But I'm not sure which, that is the tricky part. I have previously tried another obd dongle that did not work for my i3.
      The thing behind the screen is a 1.5" center dome tweeter. Had to do a lot of cutting/sawing to get it to fit.

      All the mods so far is:
      * Upgraded the 60Ah to a 94Ah.
      * Lowered 25/35mm
      * Widened 15mm front & rear.
      * Towing hitch.
      * New speakers in front & rear doors, in the kick panel, tweeter in the dash, subwoofer and in total 3 amps.
      * Tinted windows.
      * Aftermarket rear view camera & screen.
      * Some coding.
      * Wireless phone charger in the glovebox lid.
      * 100w LED bar in the front.

      @@BasinBjorn Looks great! Very helpful Video too. Just ordered the OBDII device and will have my REx coded soon :)
      How was your experience lowering your i3? Did you just replace the springs? I'd really like to lower mine as well.

    • @BasinBjorn
      @BasinBjorn  Před 4 lety

      Hey Blake! Yes I just replaced the springs, it was a bit of a hassle but it worked out. The car is a bit stiffer now but I think it's totally fine.
      Just check the front suspension before you start to know if you should replace those rubber dust boots.
      Also: I got a squeeky noise from my suspension after the lowering, only when steering and driving slowly or at a standstill. I belive its the top strut mount/guide support (31306896309). So keep an eye out if that part looks worn then you do your job. Not 100% sure why or how but i belive its the contact surface with the lowering spring.
      I probably gotta take it all apart again to swap that part and get rid of the squeeking.
