I hope that Tom, in real life, has also heard of a spin-off of the original Mister Rogers show, “Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood”, which I think Fred Rogers would have also loved to have heard of!
It's the little details the movie got right that made this performance... Tom may not look or sound like Mr Rogers but.... it sure as heck feels like him
I can't speak for the rest of them, but I do recall that Tom spent a good amount of time at the Lovell household, learning all the little details and mannerisms. The man is dedicated, and it shows in everything he does. He never has to look like anyone but Tom Hanks, and yet he is still believable as someone completely different every single time.
Same here. I remember going to see this movie with my friend, and while walking out of the theater I started crying. I just started thinking of the people who made me who I am today. I have to admit, Fred Rogers is one of them. I’m 27, and I still watch Mister Rogers Neighborhood. Sometimes I watch him on my break at work
@@JohnAckerman93 I feel you deeply, i'm a 19 year old working in a Carl's JR. Watching Mr. Rogers neighbourhood on my breaks just to remind my self of my lost childhood.
That is when I was going to see it too, but missed the opportunity. We instead stayed longer with family that day, just hanging out and talking. I still have not gotten the chance to see it since then. But y'know,... no matter how much I wanted to see it, I think Mister Rogers would have preferred I spend more time with family anyway.
Like when someone switched his shoes with smaller ones, and he just laughed out loud without a hint of negativity. And before anyone says he is incapable of negativity, he certainly was capable of it, he simply knew how to express it in only the healthiest of ways. Remember, feelings are mentionable AND manageable.
Nope. It was ALWAYS "THIS neighborhood." and there's plenty of proof to back it up. If you watch any video online or listen to any audio recording that Fred Rogers made of the song, you will hear "THIS neighborhood" EVERY single time.
I haven't seen this movie yet, I want too really badly, so Idk but wasn't he supposed to say "you make everyday a special day, you know how, by you just being yourself, there's no one in the world like you, i love you just the way you are, ill see you next time bye"
They couldn't of gotten a better person o play this role. Documentary I saw about this. Tom went and met Fred's wife and other people closest to Fred Rogers, to really get a sense of who he was as a person. Really did his homework. He wanted to be sure to get everything exact.
Its gonna be hard when Tom Hanks passes. Tom played so many iconic characters.
I agree! Same thing with Sheryl Crow, and Andre Stojka!
The real Mister Rogers would’ve liked this.
He would be smiling in Heaven.
Definitely, since he was a HUGE Tom Hanks fan!!
He left one of the best legacies I can imagine.
But He should be named Mr. Hanks
I hope that Tom, in real life, has also heard of a spin-off of the original Mister Rogers show, “Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood”, which I think Fred Rogers would have also loved to have heard of!
I love Tom Hanks. He's one of my favorite people on Earth. However, nobody... I mean NOBODY could tie a shoe like Fred.
My dad and I have the same color circle like yours.
A very good singing voice
Wonderful.
It's the little details the movie got right that made this performance... Tom may not look or sound like Mr Rogers but.... it sure as heck feels like him
The moment I heard him sing the ending, I bawled because I didn't want to say goodbye to Mister Rogers again.
Tom Hanks to portray Fred Rogers is but one word: Perfect!
How has this guy convinced the whole world that he IS Lovell, Sully and now Mister Rogers.
Don’t forget about Disney

Uncannily good
Why this guy always impress me
Mr Rogers and Tom Hanks both!
@Josh Allen Speak English please.
While he may not sound EXACTLY like the late, great Fred Rogers....Tom Hanks captures his essence better than anyone could
❤️😭MY FEELS!!!😭❤️
Right
My tears have started flowing. Now I can't stop.

"Won't you be my neighbor" starts first and "It's such a good feeling" ends of Mister Rogers' Neighborhood. I saw it on PBS Kids.
I just confused the hell out of my 7 year old by showing her this 🤣🤣🤣
Lol
Me to Tom Hanks: See you next time, Bye-Bye!
Tom hanks sing like real Fred Mcfeely Rogers
At first I felt vaguely suspicious like it was going to turn into an SNL skit, but by the end I was entranced
SNL even went on to give a legitimately touching farewell to Mister Rogers, trolley and all
I saw that great movie 🎬 years ago.
Shortly after Thanksgiving Day.

He gets the line wrong too. It's not "the neighborhood" it's "this" neighborhood.
The same guy who voiced woody and also the Toys"R"Us Mascot at one point.
It's nice to hear Tom laugh after the finger snapping...it seems like something Fred would have done himself as he didn't take himself too seriously.

Woody singing
Tom Hanks IS mr Rogers
I always thought it was “it’s a beautiful day in The neighborhood” 😬

@@bingfan22 I have Fred Rogers' coffee cup which he often drank water from on set, David Newell sent it to me
@@bingfan22 I always hear "THIS" and that's the real proof.
Mandela effect, maybe?
Mr Roger sound like woody.
It’s a beautiful day in Movie
Like you’re moving a lot can I come check it out can I come check out say Pictures shakes out
For some reason I'm thinking of a cross between Forrest Gump, and The Burbs, after waking up from a nightmare.
For those people who wondered who 's Mr Rogers?
Watch this episode czcams.com/video/yC4Ytn74ElE/video.html

Sometimes he says it before singing "Its Such A Good Feeling", so it may simply be missing from the clip
Run Forest R.....
Who did they get to sound exactly like Johnny Costa? 😲 Or is that lifted from a real episode audio track?
But all I can hear is a stupid cartoon tiger, gee thanks crotch spawn for discovering Netflix.
A near miss... but definitely a miss😢.
Chubbier version of Fred
Only Fred could maintain the constant 143 the way he did.

He did the same thing when playing Jim Lovell in Apollo 13. The man is nothing if not dedicated.
