Man, this movie is so underrated!!! Definitely needs more recognition from moviegoers and ESPECIALLY at the Oscars. I'm glad Tom Hanks got nominated for best supporting actor but it deserves more nominations than that.
Thats because all the wild and obnoxious movies is what attracts people and I agree it looked like Fred Rogers was right there on the big screen I wasn't missing this movie Im glad I saw it i just need it on DVD
We watched this at college before the closure of schools. And I had tears rolling down my face, it was all coming back to me.
To this day, I tie my shoes the way Mr. Rogers taught me. When people ask “why do you tie your shoes funny?” And I say “because Mr. Rogers told me that’s how to do it”. 🙂
He is perfect in this roll
Made me cry
I honestly was not expecting how the film was executed. It was like a lost episode that was recently found. I miss Mister Rogers, why did he have to go?
And when the film's end, I didn't want it to be ended :""
He died bro😢,In 2003, good-bye my neighbor

I think Mr. Rogers would be very proud of Tom Hanks.
Totally agree.
The part when Tom sang the opening song made me cry
Same here when I saw it in the theaters, I cried when he was also talking about forgiveness...
I remember seeing this movie with a friend a few years ago. I used to watch Mister Rogers Neighborhood every morning before school. When the movie was over, I remember crying. This movie really impacted me since I grew up with Mister Rogers. I have told people that this has been the greatest movie I have ever seen.
This, Uncut Gems, The Farewell and Honey Boy were snubbed at the Oscars.
Gajendra Yadav Sandler was snubbed and so was Robert De Niro
Also Rocketman
There were too many good movies last year that it was very difficult to narrow them down.
Darragh Hynes ya taron deserved a nomination for his role but he didn’t get one so ya
TheDavekid 123 Sandler said he was gonna make more bad movies if he didn’t get nominated at the oscars so ya
He lived in an apartment in his neighborhood, per opening with the miniatures, but had a small second home that was his place he did his show. It was a reflection of his actual life. Fred and Joanne lived in an apartment in downtown Pittsburgh just walking distance from the studios he made his show.
And it turns out Fred and Tom Hanks are related and Fred’s favorite movie was Forrest Gump. If the two had ever met, it would have been perfect.
It was shot at WQED Pittsburgh for Family Communications.
Bruv... it was shot at a studio. The studio's in the movie.
this is one of the best movies I've seen in a very long time.
PBS needs to air the world premiere of its a beautiful day in the neighbourhood
This movie was so real. Watched it twice already and about to watch again.
Mister Rogers' Neighborhood was my favorite show when I was a kid. He always taught us kindness, and love and loyalty. Fred Rogers would be so proud. Such memories, and I could just cry.
This movie made me cry
Such a beautiful film. I sincerely hope and wish everyone sees it.
So sad that he didn't get the award for best-supporting actor.
I know but that’s okay
Look it’s okay
Me and my family went to this on opening day and I honestly thought it would be just as popular as the new Star Wars movie. But something struck me. Most people under 20 today don’t even know who Fred Rogers was.
You mean Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker (2019).
Mmmmmm... I'd say most people today under 17.
Im 12 and i know who mr rogers is lol
I don't (I'm 21) but I still loved this movie, even better after finding out this is a real person!
Rorena CZcams 12? Wow! I was a total child at that age and still slept with stuffed animals and didn’t know where babies came from.
Can we get a series of mr rogers with tom hanks after this movie we definitely need it
I agree 143%
I think they should do a real big screen movie the life and legacy of Mr Rogers
I totally agree.
Fred Rogers: Have you ever felt the way Lloyd does? So angry you want to hurt someone? Or at yourself? I know I have. When I was a boy I was very chubby. And the other kids would chase me and call me names, like "Fat Freddy". It made me very sad. Sometimes, when I was by myself, I would cry. And other times, it made me very angry. There is always something you can do with the mad that you feel.
😢
I got chills in me when he was saying do you know what it means to forgive? It really felt like Mr Rogers was there talking to us
This looks good every store has been running out of this movie
It’s a beautiful day in this neighborhood, won’t you be mine? Could you be mine? ❤️
Won’t You please

Tom is such a nice person.
I'm gonna miss Tom Hanks when he's gone :'c
He’s still alive as long as he lives.

I need to buy the bluray DVD now when i get paid again i forgot this movie was so good tom hanks is my number one favorite actor of all time and he killed it as mr Rogers ,we really need people like fred Rogers right now in this negative fucked up world
I honestly did not think Tom Hanks was a good fit when it was announced he would be playing Mister Rogers. I had my doubts. But daaamn, from the first few seconds of him singing this song, he sold me.
😭😭😭😭 I can't stop watching this why can't I let myself go from this, because we miss you Fred Rogers and we need you more then ever.
I loved watching A Beautiful Day in The Neighborhood with Tom Hanks 😊❤️. Tom Hanks played Fred Rogers so well and he captured his kind heart and humble human being and he did a phenomenal performance. I can’t help but to smile and start singing the intro song by myself when i am at work for example 🙂.
My relatives in California told me they used to watch Mr Rogers on tv and watch with their kids and sing 🎶 🙂
Tom Hanks is awesome....
Tom Hanks is awesome! He looks really good as Fred Rogers/ Mister Rogers
Great thing Tom Hanks Is in Movie I also Been Watching Master rogers neighborhood hours I also Tom Hanks is Makeup For playing Fred Roger I also Like that movie.

Tom Hanks was the only reason I saw this movie.
❤️❤️❤️ Love this
I saw the film with my sister in the theater and we loved it.
"Alright!! Crap!! Going to cry now!!!
I wanna cry to this
Omg i cant wait to see this
The song Northern Sky made my heart warm.
I loved this movie!!!!
Would ABSOLUTELY LOVE to see Tom Hanks reprise this role again. Even if it's for a cameo or something.........just saying
I think so, too. Maybe kind of like Forest Gump when Mr Rogers narrates his own life growing up as a kid to his last moments for a sequel.
The picture board kind of reminds me of an Advent calendar, the way you just open up the little doors or windows one by one to reveal a picture behind each of them, something which I always found fun to do as a kid
Nice !!! 👏🌝
Wow 😯
I was 32 years old, sitting in the theater next to my parents. As it panned through his meticulously recreated "house", in 4x3 aspect ratio (which wasn't even lost on my parents!) We turned to each dumfounded then cracked a huge smile before Hanks even walked in
If the trailers somehow told me the movie would be formatted as though it’s an actual episode of the show.... I would have seen it on the big screen.
I didn't want the movie to end i wanted to see more and to have time in the neighborhood of make believe and see everyone
Hands down the most overlooked film of 2019, I highly urge you to watch if you haven't already.
5:36 Are those the Twin Towers..?
Yup. Mr rogers Show was before and after 9/11
This movie takes place in 1998, before 9/11 even occurred.
@@BabyLambCreations And then the show folded up in August 31, 2001 merely 10 days before the 9/11 attack.

When you guys releasing Greyhound on Blu-ray & Digital? Another great Tom Hanks movie!

I love you guys. You’re amazing

It’s weird how this movie got so overlooked and the movie you THINK would get overlooked like Joker got the most Oscar nods. 😄
For some reason, I thought A Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood was a perfect movie to be with Frozen 2 on the same opening weekend.
I think Tom Hank’s performance as Fred Rogers was good. I would like to see a sequel of Hanks reprising his role taking place after the show ended in 2001. Tom Hanks would do what he did similar to Forrest Gump. Talking about his childhood all the way until he's about to die. Also do the same thing for the beginning and end of the movie just like this video. And see more of Mr. McFreely and make-believe even if they want to make the rumors of Fred Rogers a navy seal and sharpshooter make-believe. I would like to see a non-linear plot of Fred Rogers doing some of the scenes from each decade, I would say from 80’s (1981), 90’s (1992) through 2001. The end of the movie would be when is dying of stomach cancer. But I guess with Hanks now better after COVID, I don’t know. But maybe this movie is fine without a sequel.
: After COVID-19, I've just saw this Movie in a big Theater with others 4 persons, It's a Good Movie for thinking about Family and Human being (Love & Care each other in Family, Friendship with people and Let's start to get better Life by " DO IT " .
I had a very decent sized audience in the theater for this movie! Why wasn't Mr. Rogers celebrated at the Oscars the Grouches?
And I think you film this movie in Pittsburg pa
I came here just for the logo variants.
2:51 to 2:58, I know that she's not really into acting anymore because her passion is directing, but Enrico Colantoni's, who starred in this film, 'Flashpoint' co-star Amy Jo Johnson would've made a great Lady Aberlin. The woman who did play her though did a nice job.
Tom Hanks Is Such A Fuccin GOAT
There’s the 1993 TriStar Pictures logo.
I noticed that too, what's up with that?
It’s a throwback.
Every other movie now is like half a dozen logos before the movie starts. What’s up with that?
First Tom Hanks portrayed an astronaut whose chance of going to the moon was shattered because of an oxygen tank explosion, then he portrayed an FBI agent who pursued a man who bounced from job to job while he was faking it, then a captain whose cargo ship was raided by pirates, an American entrepreneur who made one of the most famous animation studios ever, and now he has portrayed one of the most beloved PBS hosts of all time.

Tom Hanks did a great job on this movie as he does on all of the movies he's been in. But there is story's out there that have shown that it's possible that he may be a Pedophile. I hope not but needs to be looked into. But he is a great actor that can't be taken away from him. And I do love his work.

Ok, If you don’t know anything about Mister Rogers, here’s some history:
Fred Rogers, in full Fred McFeely Rogers, byname Mister Rogers,
(born March 20, 1928, Latrobe, Pennsylvania, U.S.-died February 27, 2003, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania),
American television host, producer, minister, and writer best known for Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood (1968-2001), an educational children’s show that aired on public television.
Following graduation (1951) from Rollins College, Winter Park, Florida, with a degree in musical composition, Rogers worked first for NBC in New York City and then for the public television station WQED in Pittsburgh. In 1954 he began what became a seven-year run of writing, producing, and serving as puppeteer for The Children’s Corner; 30 segments of the show were broadcast on NBC in 1955-56. He earned (1962) a divinity degree from the Pittsburgh Theological Seminary and was ordained by the United Presbyterian Church in the U.S.A., which asked him to continue his television work. Rogers made his on-camera debut in 1963 on the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation’s Misterogers and in 1966 returned to WQED, where the show became Misterogers’ Neighborhood. By 1968 it was being distributed nationally by National Educational Television (NET). After the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) succeeded NET in 1970, the program was renamed Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood. Mr. Rogers began each episode by changing into one of his trademark cardigan sweaters while singing the show’s theme song, “Won’t You Be My Neighbor?” He then addressed the topic of the day and in the process taught children how to get along with others, feel good about themselves, and cope with their fears.
Besides producing, writing the scripts, and serving as host, he wrote about 200 songs (including the theme song) for the program, some 1,000 episodes of which were broadcast between 1968 and 2001. The last original episode was taped in December 2000 and broadcast the following August; following the September 11 attacks in 2001, however, Rogers once again appeared on camera to record public service announcements aimed at informing parents how they could help their children cope with the events. Rogers was honoured with numerous awards, including four Daytime Emmy Awards, a Lifetime Achievement Award (1997) from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, and the Presidential Medal of Freedom (2002). In addition, the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C., added one of his red cardigans to its collection of Americana. Rogers was the subject of the documentary Won’t You Be My Neighbor (2018) and the feature film A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood (2019), starring Tom Hanks.
In 2012 the animated series Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood debuted on PBS. Produced by the Fred Rogers Company, the show drew upon the characters and locations from Rogers’s “Neighborhood of Make-Believe” to introduce a new generation of viewers to Rogers’s social and emotional curriculum.
So there you go! Some explanation.

I dont like the new episode at all
a snl skit with no laughs
Sadly, this movie was so boring that it almost put me to sleep. Tom Hanks did a great job, but it's the overall story and cast that bored me. They were all so boring to look at. It's like Tom Hanks was the flower in a bed full of weeds. The weeds dampened what could have been better. I think the only people who loved this movie was probably hardcore fans of Mister Rogers Neighborhood, and probably grew up watching him. Which I didn't. But I know boring when I see it.
This movie sucked. I grew up with Mr. Rogers and I loved the man and I was excited for a movie about Fred Rogers but instead I got a movie about a magazine writer with daddy issues and Fred Rogers was his shrink... I was very disappointed in this crap.
I hope they make a movie about Mr. Rogers some day, he deserves a big budget movie about him and I hope Tom Hanks can play Mr. Rogers in it.
Did you not see the documentary?
Yeah I saw the documentary as well, I know most of the facts about Fred Rogers, I just wanted a movie about him but got 10 minutes about him and the rest was a movie about a magazine writer. It’s like the Steve Jobs movies, all what... 4 of them? The only decent one was Pirates of Silicon Valley which was a made for TV movie.
@@frankthespank It was a true story though. The name was changed because Kevin Spacey.
frankthespank Also, the movie trailer made it clear that it wasn’t a film about "Mister Rogers", it was about how Mister Rogers impacted someone who was out to get him.
