- The UK election is tomorrow, we all have an important decision to make which will impact the rest of the country for the next five years.
With Rishi Sunak and Kier Starter having shouting matches on TV, it seems there's no good choices left.
Green? Reform? Lib dem? All being forgotten.
In this video we discuss the truth behind this election and how it'll impact you.

its the first past the post system that needs to go
@@josephcroft4268 you're absolutely right, it's outdated
Indeed but the country voted against changing to this system.
@@pamvarnsverry2444 yeah it was a disappointment
â@@pamvarnsverry2444That was in 2011 and it was a shockingly poor alternative to First Past The Post. No major politician got behind it at the time. Even Nick Clegg who wanted a referendum called it a "miserable little compromise"
The Australian Preferred Candidate system would probably work best for us.
So true. Reform looks like it could replace the Tories though (I hope). Lots of young leftists seem to be flocking to Green too. Polarisation of politics.
@@avacyn2000 Indeed you are right, let's hope it's an acceptable result
True
Vote tactically, and if you want a change, campaign for proportional representations
@@aliservan7188 that's what we all need to do
Campaign for how long ten years? The establishment won't let you.
@@foppo101 exactly mate, it's all a set up
@@foppo101 If it takes ten years, then yes. With your attitude NOTHING would ever change. We'd still have slavery, women wouldn't have the vote and the NHS would have been dismantled decades ago. If something is worth doing, its worth fighting for. FPTP has its benefits, it reduces the chances of giving extremists power, but it's fundamentally undemocratic.
I'm not a UK citizen but I've noticed it has come to the point that it's like a 2 party system like in the US.
@@KnockinOnYourDoor spot on mate, unfortunately
FPTP is undemocratic. Other European countries have some form of PR. Polling on a working day discriminates against workers and in Europe elections are usually on a Sunday and sometimes the polling stations remain open on the Monday as well.
@@maxharbig1167 Thanks for sharing! Yeah I can't agree more mate, we need major reforms. It's because Britain never had a revolution or major political change, it's always been very gradual...

Do you think any of the politicians care whether they win or lose? They are following the money trail and continue to cash in. They paid and have the time to scheme - real people have to work to stay afloat.
Have thought exactly this. Labour will win, nothing will change, people will complain and the tories come back in down the line...and nothing changes again. Dunno why people turned down Alternative Vote in the referendum. That's oft touted as the best new system for Britain
@@rachelar me neither it's crazy to think đ€
Cameron's tory government ensured it wouldn't be acceptablr.
Lib Dems have somewhat adapted to the system and built up local support and thus more seats, tho post Tory betrayal 2015 that local loyalty quickly evaporated

We live in a safe Tory seat so nothing changes

Reform, even if you donât agree with all their policies or like Nigel farage, is the best chance we have at rebelling against the 2 party system.
Vote reform.
@@ellissamsontech I am with you there
Jesus Christ, no. Just because things are bleak, it doesn't mean we should all start voting for the bootleg BNP. Vote Lib Dem or Green. They won't win either, but it will still put the point across.
Reform is a nice name for those who originally brought Brexit.
Farage is a solution for a self made mess and this solution is even more crap.
Yeah so this is probably one of the dumbest comments Iâve read in a long while.
Itâs not about race or skin colour or any of those things, when you have immigration at record high levels and the population expands out of control the public resources we have such as the NHS canât cope.
Also a lot of people coming across the border donât have money, and they arenât even paying taxes, they donât have any more money than the people already here do, in fact they have less.
Itâs not a personal dislike for these people, 80% of them are great people, but we need to think of our own and focus on taking back control of our country.
I donât think you read what I said correctly. Iâm disagreeing with you.
The only way we can get stability is to bring down immigration, which is what reform set out to do. Reform stated multiple times that it has nothing to do with skin colour or race.
Councils have gone effectively bust because of Immigration, net zero and overspending.
You say they need better financial aid, where is that money going to come from? They need to be more wise with their spending and we need to get the economy back on its feet.
Also stop throwing around the âracismâ word.
This country is one of the most free, opportunity rich and equal countries in the world. We are already accepting of other cultures but weâve forgotten that itâs also important to sustain our own culture and what it means to be British, in an attempt to keep other cultures happy. I say this as someone from indian family heritage- British culture must be preserved and we cannot keep letting everyone into this country.
yeah this country is done and dusted, enjoy the big crash, which will inevitably come, I will be emigrating within the 5 years
@@Paul-km9ox likewise mate, Ive made up my mind
Where to, though? Where's better and where will take you?
You're only just started to talk about FPTP? There's a reason why the LDs have been going on about voting reform for years, even the reform nutters support it (because ofc, smaller parties benefit from PR).
@@greebobrat that didn't make any sense
this election Lib Dems benefitted SIGNIFICANTLY from FPTP they had 12% of the votes yet had 71 seats yet reform got 14% of the votes but only 4 seats.
This directly refutes your claim that "smaller parties benefit from PR". Instead parties that are less spread and more concentrated benefit from PR. This election was unique in that it goes against the maxim because of reform party cannibalising on the tory vote allowing parties like lib dems to run to the top
â@@breazfreind40214 percent of the vote and 1 percent of the seats it's shameful for our democracy and yeah I agree well said man
