This was by far Naija's best WC team to date as they were ranked 5th in the world at the time, and were only a few minutes away from meeting Spain in the quarterfinals if not for Roberto Baggio's heroics. It was a foul on a Bulgarian player outside of the box.
Most players from both teams thought it was a goal.
