I have a 2011 equinox 4 cylinder I had someone checks when I hit the gas sometimes white smoke comes out. I had a oil seal seal change on top of the motor. Is that the gaskets are good but it's not giving a lot of answers or hope about me hitting the gas pedal waiting at a red light and about that little puff of white smoke..
How do I know if it's between the EGR and the motor? The motor hasn't blown this has been going on for so many months
Thanks
Hi from New Zealand! Great video - Thanks! Six months ago I bought a 2007 Kia Sorento diesel 2.5l 4WD with 266,000kms on the clock. I have taken it on a few long trips (100kms each time.) It never missed a beat! But in the last 3 months I have Only taken it for short trips into town and back (10kms) - on average 2 times each week. It was during theses short trips that I noticed big clouds of white smoke when I push hard down on the gas peddle either from a stand-still or pulling away out of sharp bends. On one of those short trips the engine was covered in black oil and I discovered that the dip-stick had risen a few inches. Or maybe sabotage!! Not sure? I cleaned it all off and it has been fine for the last month with just the short trips. Apart from the white smoke that is!! Am reluctant to take her for a long trip for obvious reasons. I'll get my regular local mechanic to check her over soon when Warrant of Fitness is due in June. I'll report back here after that 👌🙃
Hello. As you've mentioned dipstick, we'd suggest checking the PCV system first. It may be clogged, causing excessive crankcase pressure, which then forces oil into the combustion chamber. Check out our video about that 👉czcams.com/video/j3DZlftr8kE/video.html
@@MechanicBase Thank you. Greatly appreciate the advice 👍😀
Every device works on white smoke. When white smokes leaves, device does not work anymore :). Good video.
My truck was billowing white smoke and I got it to stop by resetting computer and letting it relearn all its settings.
Oil if the ring worn although it should be blue but sometimes white, coolant blown head gasket , stuck open fuel injector if you have miss fire
I have white smoke coming out the tailpipe of my 2018 BMW 540I, I take it in tomorrow to BMW to see what is going on. not going to lie, I hope it's a value cover gasket or an EGR cooler. I pray it is not an engine block gasket. I guess we will see. Thank you for this great video. Learned a lot.
How'd it go
Good information, can you make a videos on most common faults on audi they are sick engine.
Great video
Thank you🙏
If you smell strong smell of gas with white smoke, is this normal? I'm not experiencing low coolant nor burning oil. When at stop light and accelerator is pressed, light which smoke come out
The car has an o2 sensor fault code, can this be the cause?
I’m having same problem. But not always. Can be the sensor after I install the downpipe ?
I am driving Toyota Mark II 2004, i recently saw white smoking coming from exhaust of the car when driving and specifically when pressed the accelerator even though out side temperatures are high.
Any suggestions?
Have you noticed any oil or coolant loss (having to top it up more frequently)?
@@MechanicBase for coolant loss, there is no significant notice but I have distrust of the oil level decline, though it is in the range.
Hello. What if the white smoke lasts for only 5 to 7 seconds only when the car is started cold?
Great video and explanations!!
Thank you🙏
Hi can you please advise me. White smoke is coming out of my exhaust especially when I accelerate. It has a chemical smell. No warning lights are coming on. Car not losing water or oil. And there's no mixing of water and oil. No overheating. What could be the problem?
Yes, it could. Do you have any warning lights (check engine light or something)?
@@MechanicBaseI have this no coolant even moving down
No smoke unless I idle for more than 10min but I seem to always have tiny fuel drops coming out.
Which car do you have?
@@MechanicBase 2011 crown vic. It is tuned with long tube headers & intake. It's also only the passenger side that has the smoke
@@MechanicBase it's white smoke & otherwise drives fine with no codes
@@WarriorOfEden3033 smoke after long idling is head gasket
@@ArticulateArena no loss of coolant or oil tho
Head gasket. Blowby
Yes. Get a new car.
