This new generation of speakers might hold the Pioneer DJ name, but rest assured, they will work in any live sound application. There’s nothing DJ-specific about these speakers, though of course, I will be giving you my perspective as a DJ. These are redesigned to be an affordable alternative to those looking for high-caliber PA speakers, repriced to compete squarely with choices like the QSC K-line.
The 10” and 12” tops each push 2000W of power through a Class D amplifier. The 15 and 18” subs have 4000W Class D amps. The XPRS122, in the room with me today, features a 12” woofer, 3” voice coil with a 1” exit compression driver. It delivers a maximum SPL of 131 dB, according to the spec sheet. This should make it sufficient to give pretty good sound coverage in mid-sized venues or larger. This makes them great for fixed installation live sound, churches and other houses of worship, stage monitoring, and yes - live DJ sets.

Thanks for doing this video, I just spent £5k on all the old Xprs and bought a pair of these new… THE HISS!!! If I had have known I wouldn’t have bothered.. it means I can’t put them out for background music.. just monitors or mains
I was shocked… for people in scenarios like yours, it ruins an otherwise nice sounding set of tops.
@@PassionateDJaha, could you tell me (I have the 10” 2nd generation) is it just the 10” and 12” mid tops that hiss or does the 18” sub hiss as well?
I am thinking of sending the 10” 2nd gen back but am tempted at buying one of their 18” subs so I can have more options for my customers. And maybe one day a set of the original 10” will come up at the right place second hand.

That’s not how amplifiers work, a 4kw peak sun, 2kw rms probably driving 1kw max of drivers willl usually only run at 1/6-1/4 capacity and even at loud volumes might only draw 400 watts rms (excess energy is stored in amps capacitors) welcome to class d switch mode efficiency, I know it’s counter intuitive
