Been going to Vegas since I was 21 (73 now) and finally in June 2019 stopped at Peggy Sue's with my sister. We really enjoyed it, fun and good food. So glad I took it off our bucket list because my sister passed 6 months later.
I have been going up and down Hwy 15 to Barstow, CA.... my Dad's family is from there and ALL of those stops I have seen, just to let you know... it looks like he went the 'Back-way' of getting into Barstow. Passing the 'Ol Grande Bridge', just north of Victorville (VV).
It's refreshing to see a couple take time to slow down the typical fast paced life and spend quality time with each other. Most people these days just rush to get from one place to another.
Thanks, it was a fun road trip!
Drove from L.A. to Vegas more than a dozen times and I didn't know about half of those stops. Thanks
Me too!!!!!!!!
@@bo-be-qbarbecueausderseest1663 Want to take my 15 year old daughter on this drive. Any good ideas to show her on the drive?
Me...too!! I had my Dad's family living in Barstow, CA.... we would travel out there from L.A. every-other-month (!!) But I love the desert compared to living in LA. But yeah.... there are some sites there I have not seen before.
Where is LA exactly
I agree that the music is not great on this video, but hopefully the content is helpful and my more recent videos have a lot better music so be sure to check them out!
I didn't mind the music... Kinda chill and trippy.
Nice video! I'm flying over from Ireland in a few weeks to do this drive. Do you have a Google maps route for this you could share?
@@puffincat22 Unfortunately I do not have a Google Map route, you can find a lot of the addresses in this post though californiathroughmylens.com/stops-drive-la-vegas
Thanks for this great Video...and I realy like the music...very suitable!! Will be there in April 🤩 Many greetings from Germany.
I really liked the music in this video.
Thank you, thank you for stopping at some of our favourite places and bringing back happy memories of our two road trips along the same route. Barstow was just one of those places we loved, we don’t know why, it just was! Happy days! Brilliant.
I've lived in Vegas for 9 years and driven back and forth to Cali. I didn't know half these places. Thank you for sharing.
How to turn a 3 1/2 hour drive into an 8 hour drive! I love it! You are true road warriors!
Ken Rhinehart , it’s only 3 1/2 hours from L.A. to Las Vegas? That’s great. Looking at Vegas for retirement.
3.5 hours at 85-90+MPH with one stop only hahaha did it with my truck on a early Sunday morning Vegas to LA head start before the cars come out
Howzit i live around 7 minutes next to the 15 around rancho Cucamonga takes from 3 hours-3 and 1/2 at night going 90 in the curvy areas and then flooring it hitting like 110 (thats the max for my car) in my honest opinion the drive at midnight is by far the best
Niko Bellic yep it’s doable I did the 15 thru Palmdale then come out near magic mountain to hit the 110 back end simivalley to calabasas area! Always like those long drives coming from Hawaii o only drive in circles
Thanks to you guys i did my first road trip. I only missed 2 stops. Loved every stop. Love your channel. Cant wait for my next adventure.
Thanks for the comment and glad the road trip was awesome!
I love how stoked you are about places you've been to before, meteorite museum closed? No problem, heres some footage from the last visit. Thanks for the road stop ideas!
You guys did an awesome job with this video. I'm born and raised in California, but now live in Las Vegas. I had an idea some time ago for a video like this, but you definitely came up with more places. Great work!
Wzup Jacob like your videos
I love road trips like this. I am bookmarking for my next adventure...Thanks.
Awesome! Thanks for the comment!
Thanks so much for this posting ~ I have never been out west, due to many problems, so this brought me a lot closer .. You seem like a nice couple. Good luck in your travels. I remain tied to the boring east coast :(
The east coast isn’t “boring”
Thank you so much for all your tips! Our family from New Zealand came and spent 2 weeks in the USA and used your videos to find stops from LA to Las Vegas, around San Diego and San Francisco and also the PCH. Without your videos we would have missed some really cool stuff. Keep up the great work! We hope to come back again and do more things that we missed!
Thanks for the comment, I am so glad the videos were helpful! What were some of your favorite spots??
California Through My Lens ohhhh good question. The bottle tree ranch, the train museum, the bar right next to bubble gum ally with all the amazing craft beer etc, Bonita light house, La Jolla seals (where we got a parking ticket lol)... so many amazing memories. We miss it so much!
Nothing like a road trip to Vegas ❤️❤️
Love your videos. I drove route 66 with my family in 1960. We were driving a brand new 2960 chevy impala, red and white. Picked it up in Detroit. That was 60 years ago, but good memories
Cool video. Everyone passes up so much cool stuff, thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the comment and yes I agree there are a lot of fun things that many people pass up.
The drive from LA to Vegas such a classic trip! big props to you for exploring the stops on the way.
You guys trying to make a grown man cry? My Dad was stationed at George AFB in the mid-70's. That roadtrip takes me back especially around Victorville. I have been back to the area about 7 years ago. I'm guessing I've been to or by half of your 22 stops. Great job and thank you!
Thanks for the comment, I appreciate it! I am glad it brought back good memories and that you have visited so many of the places
Hey! I'm a high desert person and recognized about half of the stops too..
Time for a road trip!
hubby and I have been to many of these places...but...as you pointed out...there are MORE to see....I feel a ROAD TRIP coming on..!~!~!..THX for all you do to help us all have FUN...esp in weird 2020........stay safe..!!
2 things that make this guys videos great;
Enthusiastic interest in any place or subject
&
The same enthusiasm for the Snacks & Food along the way 🥞🍔🍟🌮🌭🥙🌯🍕🍝🍦🧁🍿
We're from Brazil and we're driving from Las Vegas to Barstow and this was very useful! Thanks a bunch, dude!
I was headed up the 15 from Sacramento and fount your video. Thank you for doing this! I know it’s hard to film and gather all the details of each stop, you guys did did a good job. I’m going to change my plans and stay in the calico ghost town! Thanks!
Hello You Two, I've traveled this road twice, having seen this video I realised I should take the road less traveled. This video is one of those little pieces of CZcams magic. Part of the chemistry is the people who made it, another is the soundtrack. I actually quite like the music! Thankyou so much for this video
Ah gosh that was so exciting thank you. We did the trip ten years ago across the desert from LA. As it was the first trip and first time to America we did not know to do the stop offs. Route 66 has such a ring of intrigue for me. I should love to do what you two have done, so thanks once again for your great video.
Tks Josh! I think your main objective to encourage people to get out of the main road and made an unbelievable experience caught us. Me and my wife took this trip from Vegas to LA, and I t was awesome, took about 10 hours but it was the best experience in our second honeymoon.
Thanks for the feedback and I am glad you guys had such a great trip!
Just did the LA-Vegas journey and stopped by a few of these because of your video---great job!
That was pretty cool. I have made several trips to Las Vegas for work and have been to almost all of these places. Nice video, I enjoyed this.
That is so awesome! I'm going on vacation in one week (from Norway) and we're doing LA to LV! That you have this video up now it's just to perfect to be a fluke. Thank you California Through My Lens and the universe. :-)
Thanks for the comment, so glad that it works so perfectly for what you are doing!
California Through My Lens das ist auf englisch : ( kein Übersetzung da , Größe aus Deutschland (Germany )
Tiger Tiger komm schon, Junge.. ‘must halt ein wenig English lernen 👍
Moved from SoCal 18 years ago and know all of these stops during my 24 years there. This stuff
Is the stuff I miss about SoCal. Florida where I live now has similar charm
What a really great video you two...I've driven through that area many times but never really stopped...I know now how much I've missed
I've lived in Orange County, and now living in Las Vegas, and traverse the I-15 countless times. I've seen the signs and names of all these places but never paid much attention to them. Thanks for sharing a video of what they are!
Very helpful video 👌👍 right on IV been in Vegas so many times... Not knowing some of these places you guy's showing us..... keep up the good work and travel On..... peace and love to all.
thanks for making my hikes a lot of fun by showing us these cool little spots
Cali born, Vegas raised. You guys nailed it !!!
We've always wanted to make this drive. Maybe one day. Thanks for the virtual trip!
My family n I did a roadtrip with your video n loved it. I enjoyed this Video n all my family will remember this roadtrip.
That was the best virtual trip I have ever been on. Keep it up guys!!!
That was good! I’ve been out there many times and never stopped at those places.
It will definitely be on my next trip!
For some reason this sincere video shared by the 2 people who took it has resulted in many sniveling kind of comments from obviously pained people who don't like their own lives and have to take out time to complain. I will just say thank you I enjoyed every bit of it.
This is so cool! Well planned man I'm about to go out west and begin my trucking career, I'll be on the lookout for these stops!
The west is the best for trucking jobs cause of the sites and money
Awesome! Tnx for sharing. Been driving a lot on Fwy 15 and I didn't know that some of that attractions exist. Nice tip!
Well done video guys! As an LA native, that drive NEVER gets old.
Thanks for another great video,Stay awesome!!!!
Driving from los angeles to vegas is amazing, the mojave is the most beautiful landscapes I have ever seen, it always takes 18 hours to travel because we get lost and see things, it's best in winter, 2 years ago near the PowerLine road in the middle of nowhere, that was beautiful. The early morning, the light patches of snow, it was so beautiful. I want to live there but it will be too hot in the summer.
I agree, the winter is such a magical time in the California desert
I've always wondered about all these places. Glad you did a video like this
What a great trip you guys! Informative and great to watch! That Bonnie and Clyde Death Car was interesting! Good luck with your future travels!!!
Been traveling to Vegas every year since I was a 8-month-old baby and I never knew about most of the stops till watching this video.
That's rad! Thanks for all the cool info. You guys rock!
This was great! Thanks for posting!
We are doing Route 66 from west after our wedding in Yosemite and we are driving from LA to Las Vegas before renting a rev so thus is perfect!!!
I live up the Cajon pass right at the half way point between LA and Vegas and I see these places all the time/ weekly, but yall made it look so much more interesting 😂
Pretty sick bro! You are a true hard core road trip warrior! Will definitely stop by on my next road trip to Vegas bro!

Great video to watch, even the music was cool. very well done, and planning to go to west this spring thanks for the video.
Thanks for the comment, I hope the video encourages you to have a cool adventure.
I'm from the East coast and drove from Las Vegas to L.A... the ride was sooooo pretty to me... I wouldn't mind doing it every day
Hey guys...we stumbled on your channel in the summer as we were researching for Yosemite during pandemic and found your hikes and travels very useful...I’m commenting on this video because we just came back from our short trip to Las Vegas from Discovery Bay, North Cal where we live. We had so much fun searching for the few spots from this video to include Del Taco in Barstow, the short Main Street Route 66; Then we found the tallest Thermometer in Baker along with the Alien Fresh Jerky...bought one bag of jerky...(big mistake since it did not last to Primm). Also visited the Bonnie & Clyde Death car. Great treasure hunt on our 8 hours that turned into 10 hours plus....Keep up the great exploration of California. Thanks. Happy Holiday to you and Amy and your twins and parents.
Thank u so much for making this video! I’m planning to take my first trip to Vegas. I live in OC, California
Nice! I live in apple valley & a few winters ago I worked for ups delivering packages during the busy Christmas season. My route was in oro grande & Helendale on old route 66! Passed by the bottle trees everyday was pretty cool
RIP to Elmer from the bottle tree ranch
This is perfect. Thank you so much!
Amazing video thanks for sharing
Great video. The music didn't bother me. I'm going to check out some of these places this year. There are several where I've seen the signs and thought that I'd stop there someday. Thanks to your video, some day just got a lot closer.
This is so cool I appreciate you guys 😂
Chur team! I’m heading over in 6 weeks from NZ and driving around, look forward to seeing a few of these wicked sights!
Great video. Loved it. Having traveled I-15 many times, I alwasy wanted to do exactly what you have done, but never got around to it. Most of the California folks just speed by all of these places, wanting to explore, but not having time or just plain impatient to get to Las Vegas and to return home is as short a time as possible. Since your video, the Alien Jerky remodel is completed, saw it two weeks ago. Now off to look at some of your other videos.
Awesome, I am excited to see what Alien Jerky looks like now!
Great video guys 👍thanx for charring 👍
Amazing video! Thank you.
Awesome guys.Something that I would love to do !
dude that is one awesome video! love the beat too.
Really looking forward to doing this road trip one day. Great video !
Go for it enjoy life 🏞🌄
