For sure, was a great way to spend Christmas morning.
ABG for sure
Yet Moog throws and leaves the glasses tags on the steps when they were at the gas station but ok.

the wing in the wrong collar! but i like the early foutage of MCM.
As an American, I found this off roading adventure refreshing. No massive V8s or massive tires. Amazing views. Simple camping without rooftop tents. Well done!
V6 is all anyone needs, anything with less cylinders is lacking
"overlanders" with buckets of money dumped into shiny mods and gear does get tiresome at times.
@@alexander1485 dunno, fair number of well geared Toyota 22rs, samurai 1.3, 2.5 jeeps getting it done
@@alexander1485 I prefer my I6 over most V6s but I agree. Unless it is a diesel the 4cyls need too many revs to make any power. An I6 can still make good power down low, and so do some V6s
@@Daishar v6 is more compact and fits the bay better
That servo dude was a GC. Literally wrote off the perfume at a discounted price cos he liked Marty and moog.
Jimny is a dream car for me. It's balance between comfy and capable is so good.
15 years ago I owned a SJ410 that was a lot of fun, and the gear ratios was nuts. 1. in low range felt like a standstill when I floored it, haha. I sold it to my mothers cousin, who ran a gigantic forest property. He was so excited to use it back and forth to sites they cleared, and totally rebuilt it. 33" mudslingers, 3" OME lift, 2" bodylift, rollbar, bent new bumpers out of steel pipes, and a Baleno 115ps engine. That was quite a rig, and it looked bad-ass after 1000 dents and spraypaint over all the scratches.
also, can we take a moment to appreicate the camera work? the cinematography is just stunning, the views, the quality, despite the weather... like this must have been a massive effort and its so great!
@Rickie j theyâve got a cameraman mate. The quality really is second to none though đ
@Rickie j not knowing them personally but knowing them through industry connection as a mechanic I can tell you that they have just the one camera man when they need to do the big projects like this or episodes that require a 3rd person to film them both. But they do all there own stunts you could say. What you see it is what is actually what's happening, no trickery. They still edit all there own vids.
@Rickie j its not about risk factor. Its entertainment. I appreciate the 3rd person view. And i appreciate even with that 3rd person just how much time and effort it takes to plan and execute something like this. You basically have one chance to get the shot. If you miss it oh well. Ive done live filming and the shot list, camera angles, redundency of storage and gear is insane when on location let alone actually doing something like this.
@Rickie j agree to disagree. It has been known they have a camera man. Same setup used on long way round and long way down. They had a camera guy on their other trips as well. It never bothered me that top gear had a full crew on their trips :)
@Rickie j I think you are getting WAY too wound up about this, its entertaining, its amazing camera work, there was no statement saying it was just the 2 of them, its a national park, camera man or not a ranger or other 4WD would have come by and helped them out if they got stuck they weren't driving on the moon
This is literally just Aussie top gear now and I love it
Iâm here for it
Yep they âchoppedâ âïž it đ
Theyre more top gear than top gear is now. Plus they actually show them building the cars. Perfection.
Much much better than Aussie Top gear!
This is heeps better đđđ
Every single scene in this movie is just gorgeous, you'd never ever see a Kei truck going through anywhere like that otherwise. The most beautiful thing though, is seeing so much nature come back to those blackened trees. Wholesome stuff.
These guys are such good people.
For a lot of MCM fans in the UK that are in tier 4 and have a lonely Christmas, this will be a lifesaver, maybe quite literally. Cheers boys!

Honestly, Moog and Marty produce too much wholesome content.
Yeah, it was amazing. As good as some of the great Top Gear specials.
@@punchrockgroin5597 better, doesn't have all juvenile nonsense scripted for old men :)
Been a fan of mcm since many years ago. This movie really capture the essence of mcm. Great love for car/truck, keeping an open mind, the beauty of Australia, great friendship and overall great attitude. Not a moment in this movie is boring. Thank you for taking us in the journey.
Mad respect for the highlights on picking up litter, wildfires, and indigenous history. You guys are what car culture needs to be
Check your fluids fellas. Tcase, Diffs, Trans all have breathers somewhere. When you cool them with water they suck in whatever. Water contamination was my worst enemy when I started out.
Definitely good advice, 4wd shop i used to work at always had at least one truck in with an "unexpected bill" from a blown transfer case or diff purely because someone hit the trails 6 months ago and never checked fluids afterwards.
100%
where is the fun in that ?

Probably the best thing about MCM is the evolution of the show, Iâve been here since 2011 and love the direction you guys went. This episode was so fun to watch and would love more season finales or other hour long episodes that cover some type of challenges or builds. Well done lads.
Seeing you guys together makes me miss having some bro friends. The older you get the lonelier you get.

Without the wankers
Check out car trek itâs pretty good
Subscribers gone lol if u did that this is nice but yeah idk nothing but this
I agree. they should do more of this stuff with the Jimny and Kei Truck.
Maybe do a few small upgrades to the kei truck. Steel bumper to protect the front end, a set of spot lights, a winch, fix the air intake and get a properly fixed snork, and a bit more power.
Another idea they could do is a small, basic camper for the kei truck, that sits in the tray. If they make it light enough, he could still take it of and store it, to use the truck for hauling stuff.
And that way, if he's got engine trouble while on a trip with the camper, he could tip the tray up to get access, without everything falling out. With some proper storage, he could even keep it from becoming a mess.
Amazing movie dudes!! Two epic little cars and some awesome tracks. +1 for the camera not showing how steep the tracks are!

@Kevin C too bad for ya
I traveled all round South America in a 1981 Mitsubishi minicab kei van - 2 cylinders @ 550cc, cheapest car i found in Chile. Slow and economical. Up and over the Los Andes on several occasions, slept in it at the bottom of the worlds highest active volcano (NOT by choice) and thought i was going to die from the cold! Its a little beast! Sub frame bashed many massive rocks aside. Love the thing and still have it.

Itâs also so great to see you guys progress as amateur overlanders. I would love to see more of this!!
50:30 "bit hard to keep your foot still when the car's jerking around." Tip. Stick your boot up against the side of the footwell, use the edge of it to control the throttle. Much easier to keep your throttle control under control in the rougher stuff. also 50:08 keep your thumbs OUTSIDE of the steering wheel. If it catches in a rut and spins you can break a thumb or a wrist, and you wouldn't be the first person it happened to.
Been saying for the last two videos, diff, transfer case and gearbox breathers.
A snorkel is just for the airbox, there's other boxes down there you don't want water in and now you've been in water deep enough to have had water ingress.
Drop your diff, gearbox and transfer case fluids and install breathers unless you want to do a new diff install episode some time in the next few months.

I normally do not comment on anything on CZcams. But this was absolutely the best episode IMO these guys ever made, just such a laugh. I have watched MCM since they started doing the Daihatsu thing. Super edited, music, everything just works. Great job to you guys!
I laughed so hard when the boys were discussing the kangaroo orgy after the first night.
You should check out their movies (think they were called âturbos and templesâ or something like that) from about a year ago, which is about the same length as this vid. Some of they best editing on CZcams for a car channel and was very interesting watching the Japanese culture and car scene.

I was in Australia in October 2018 for a friends wedding in Canberra, but because of you guys I started off in Sydney for my 3 week holiday. I randomly ran into Tuning Fork at the Sydney Aquarium with his lovely family, which was most excellent. I even made a point to rent a car and take the absolutely longest multi-day route I could devise to drive from Sydney, along the southern coast, back up through the mountains and everywhere else I could see on a map before getting far enough West to end up in Canberra before the wedding. This video, and the outstanding cinematography has given me the biggest lump of nostalgia for the beautiful country I saw from my little rental Toyota.
