I'm from America and if it weren't for my high metabolism I'd probably be overweight. I'm also black so most of the black community like soul food and even though it can be good it's extremely greasy and fatty. I really didn't know good portion control until I really got interested in Japanese and Korean food. So yeah your observation is extremely correct

I get you, I'm Romanian and our soul/traditional food can be very fatty so I either reduce certain ingredients or cook foods from other cultures like japanese or korean

Funny enough I watch alot of dancers from studios in South Korea and I noticed mostly everyone is slim! So like someone else I was curious and googled and found your video. It's was super helpful to understand and I think pretty much knew the answers around types of food and how much consumption on top general movement on a daily basis baked into the norm as a culture. Fact of the matter is the US is not conducive to a healthy lifestyle for most places in US. We are not great in building walkable cities, the quality of food is horrible and accessibility to better food built in iniquities by race and class. And the list can go on. We come out the gate at a disadvantage sadly enough.
This video def helps be think about ways I may be able to imitate cultural diets and lifestyle in countries like Korea etc.
      Thank you for v sharing!

@@angelacalvin5790 Thank you so much for sharing! I currently live in the US but still integrate some aspects of the Korean diet and lifestyle into my life, and I'm sure you can too if you'd like :)

Because they eat better, as simple as that, they don't eat as much ultra processed food as we westerns do so they don't intoxicate themselves and turn into food addicts

It's partly genetic. Koreans in general are small boned with small frame.
