I pay my TV licence annually. I don't know anybody who pays monthly. I was shocked at the tip requested by wait staff in American restaurants. I tip for the quality of food and service here. All wait staff are paid by their employers, with a minimum wage being set by the government, so tips are just a boost to their earnings. We had a bill for $175, so I left a $20 tip. The waitress was upset, telling me that she expected about $50. I pointed out that I am not a bank and she should speak to her employer if she was disappointed. Rudeness is never acceptable.

Not everywhere reaches the highest temperature. We lived in La Marsa (close to the sea) for a year. The temperatures were easily bearable. Absolutely love the country and are hoping to get back there to live for a few years.
