  • This delicious one pot fish stew (or fish soup) is so easy to make & tastes delicious, it's based on a recipe we used to teach at Jamie's Ministry Of Food. You can use most fish & shell fish for this recipe but steer clear of strong oily fish such as mackerel in this dish.

    This is a Greek fish stew, an amazing dish Greek families have once a week, called psarosoupa (fish soup). Kakavia is the boat version of this soup made with seawater and whatever fish is fished and vegetables that can be preserved on the boat for some time.

    The point of this plate was that it could be cooked with the minimum ingredients inside the boat during fishing. Thats why mostly was made of sea water, fish, olive oil, onions, potatoes and lemons(often instead of lemons the used a very sour powder-citric acid- that tastes similar to lemon). Ingridients that can be perserved for long period on a fishing boat. All the rest are extras that people use to put at home cooking to spice up the recipe.

    That background music is so loud in spots, it's kind of annoying and is really quite unnecessary. With that said, I tried this recipe and it is delicious! Thank you!

    Did you pick up the celery from the trash section of the supermarket? 😂

    • @musettechefchris
      @musettechefchris  Před 3 měsíci +4

      No I used perfectly good to use celery as I don’t believe in food waste! Yes it’s a bit limp but that lends to its beauty in the dish. Thx though for your concern 😉
