  • In today's Groove Hunter #12 Episode we deal with the drunken or the so-called Dilla Feel. J Dilla, a record producer and rapper was working with an MPC with which he created these beats and that specific feel. Masters of this feel, when it comes to playing it on the drums, are for example Chris "Daddy" Dave, Questlove or Adam Deitch. In Kendrick Lamar's song "How much a dollar cost" the feel is also very present. //Simon

Great vid. I believe it is Robert “sput” Seawright who plays drums on the Kendrick album.

@@ThomannsDrumBash I have two suggestions. These are two very different suggestions in terms of rhythm.
      1. United in Greif - Kendrick Lamar has a very cool marching drum type of feel.
      2. Melt Session #1 - Denzel Curry (drums done by robert glasper I believe). Robert Glasper's production in general have very cool, unique drums

That extra hi hat Chris does makes my brain overheat, my appendages are even more cornfused!! I really need to start with a teacher as soon as things on earth are safe for me to return. Unless you wanna come up to the Moon for a month or so?
