    I think you should add to your title “how to change master cylinder” then when someone is looking on how to do it, it will pop up on there search’s. It may also get you a lot more views!

    I am happy you figured out the problems with your brakes, but I have to be honest, I was thoroughly distracted by that brisket on the smoker, and then the sound of that 68 mm turbo singing when you were shooting from inside the cab.... I started daydreaming Lol!!!đŸ˜‚đŸ‘đŸ»

    I have seen this with GM trucks in Hawaii it is rooted in the ABS. High moisture and temperature swings trigger it. The way we fixed it was bypassing the the system and using proportioning valves to set the bias from front to back. Yes you can fix it with a new ABS control module/master cylinder but there are no guarantees it won't come back. It doesn't happen to every gm truck, I have seen it on 2 wheel drive and 4 wheel drive trucks. Everytime the failure went back to the ABS. In Hawaii the salt in the air messes with electronics especially sensors. Just a thought may help you , maybe not.

    Brake issues >>> So I bought an 03 lb7 a week ago, guy I bought it from said he had brake problems. He did similar to you, brakes, rotors, etc. Come to find out. It was the soft rubber line to the brakes. It had started decaying internally creating a very similar issue. It was intermediate.

  • @nathanbrodeur

    Josh this might sound funny but have you thought about looking at the ABS modulator for a failure in it cause if the fluid goes bad or moisture gets in the system it can cause issues

    Hey man, mechanic myself here. Hard to say over the Internet what it is but if this doesn't take care of your issue I would be looking at the abs unit underneath the truck. I've changed quite a few of them. They go bad all the time, but I've never had those symptoms with it. And you may need to change out those front brakes again if the rotors were warped from getting hot. Best of luck

    You should try fat side up on that brisket. As it cooks the fat will drop through the meat and keep it moist.

    Hey bro, 23 year Navy Aviation Maintenance Master Chief here. My experience tells me your brake trouble is self induced. Your brakes worked fine then you changed the upper control arms and they started failing. Bent a line, jarred a sensor, etc. If not the upper arms, what else did you work on? Nothing wrong with updating parts of the system but it's odd that the master cylinder would fail because you worked on the suspension. Hope it's fixed, love your videos keep them coming. About to dump BIG MONEY into my 2005 LLY starting with suspension and drivetrain. Maybe I should start my own channel.

  • @brooksdobson7813
    @brooksdobson7813 Pƙed 4 lety +1

    If both brakes lock up after after about 30 to 40 minutes it’s the back seal in the master cylinder and so what that does is it shoots brake fluid in your brake booster canister and that will erode the diaphragm in the booster which will cause your breaks to close them selves if there is brake fluid in your brake booster then that’s ur problem

    Sounds like one of the lines might be kinked, crimped, or plugged. But I’d recommend testing everything in the system to figure out what isn’t working right, otherwise it’s a gamble of waisting time & money.
