    Belgrade looks like such a beautiful city. We loved all of the history you gave, from the music to the NATO campaign. I was working on ships in 1994 and remember so well all of my Yugoslavian friends, despairing for their country as war raged through it. Keep up the good work you too. Have a great week 🍻

    Welcome to Serbia and my city Belgrade i see you love fun facts i will mentione some, the Branko Bridge that is you go by foot across is named by our very good poet and writer Branko Ćopić the sad part he was make suicide on that bridge trow himself to river, another historic fact in the beggining of the video you mentioned king Aleksandar Karadjordjevic he is the biggest fault was he want the ideal of Yugoslavia but half of Serbian in that time after world war 1 not want Yugoslavia in fact as a winners we have a deal to have half of today Bosnia and Hercegovina, 2 part od today Croatia Slavonia and half of Dalmacia with the exit to the see but the folish king want all.
    Also the NATO bombing was totally crush our country it was totally illegal and just the USA want to even some score from past.
    P.S. Serbia is country of tame and hospitable people but in century ago lot of big imperialistic forces try to crush us but we are tough people and very proud and willing to sacrifice life to defend homeland so they try many time Ottoman empire Austro Hungarian empire World War 1 and 2 and lately kinapping part from Serbia and that is Kosovo from USA and Nato just because they cant.
    P.S. enjoy and have a safe trip wherever you go

      @@hgworldtour Do not bother with this bull... Funny thing is that Branko's bridge was actually called King's Alexander's Bridge when it was erected in late thirties, but commies, like this one up, usually blame King Alexander for all possible and impossible things, since they know nothing about their past. Also, it's funny thing that this guy does not mention quite illegal intrusions of Serbians in Bosnia, AFTER its international recognition in 1992. Both, Serbia and Croatia had their regular troops in another country. That is an invasion, par excellence.

    The truth about the first Ušće tower is that it was not built for Tito, but as Communist Party headquarters. It was popularly known as Ce-Ka (pronounced Tse-ka), after CK which is the acronym for Central Committee. As far as I remember, it was 23 stories high. Heavily damaged by bombing in 1999, its top 2 or 3 floors had to be removed and after heavy renovation it became an office building. The second tower was built quite recently, as you have correctly noted.

    would be nice experience for you two if you had more knowledge about Serbian and Belgrade history while walking the streets there. City is one of the oldest in Europe, yet it was bombed and destroyed so many times. Every corner has a story to tell. Just imagine how it used to look like let say in 1939 or 1914 or during the Ottoman rule or Serbian kingdoms, Romans, Celtic antiquity... There are so nice archive videos of Belgrade from the early 20 century. One made by Dutch "Belgrado 1922" You should google for it. Curious how Dutch have seen Belgrade very "interracial" or multinational. In 1922 the Netherlands was quite "Dutch". Belgrade was always melting pot at major crossroads

    So I'll tell you about the English in Serbia , in the communist day's of Yugoslavia everybody learnt Russian and German only ! Since becoming Serbia again English is compulsory at schools now ( no more German or Russian ) so you'll find young people upto about 35 years of age nearly all of them speak good English 👍

      @miomirabrankovic7133 Před 2 lety +7

      @Robi Radish This is absolutely not true. I grew up and went to school in the communist days of Yugoslavia (late 1950s and 1960s). We had to study one foreign language from the 5th grade and the choice was mainly between English and Russian. French and German were less popular and were not available at all schools. Later, in the 1970s and 1980s, two foreign languages became compulsory, one from the 3rd grade and the second one from the 5th grade. The first one was a choice between German, French or Russian, the second one was English.
