Calling the geese with kulning - ancient swedish herdingcall

- This evening I went out in the forest to enjoy the spring and the singing birds. I got inspired to sing myself and after a while, as the snow began to fall, the geese or cranes on the other side of the forest answered me. This happened a few years ago also. It is just such a magical feeling to communicate with the geese. I have no idea if they really did answer me, but I love to think that we did have some kind of connection. We shared a moment while enjoying the wonderful spring.

Singing is still very often used to communicate. Songs are so completely woven into our culture. Holiday songs, lullabies, stories, anthems

You can see the difference between this type of kulning (singing) and kulning (herd calling). This website has both on it. The second one has a lady calling cattle and you can hear them respond. It's quite amazing. nordicvoice.dk/about-kulning/
