The story of my life - From a dream to reality

- This video is about how I changed my life 8 years ago, when I left the citylife and moved 1000 km to the north and started a new life close to nature. Close to all the things my heart was longing for.
These 8 years have been so challenging and hard but also wonderful and magical in every single way. I have learnt so much from that day I came to the old house in this smal village in the forest with no money, no job and no plan on what I should do with my life.
But from that day I started living, for real. I started appreciating things that I had never even thought of when living in an apartment in the city. And I learnt that you can never feel the wonderful, comfort feeling of warmth if you have not yet been cold.
I started with nothing but a dream. And today, I live my dream. Everyday I feel so thankful for still being able to live here in my little paradise deep in the forests in the north of Sweden, and working with all the things I love, and sharing my life with someone I love.
In this video you get to see a short summary of these years. Of course, many details are not included since the video would be 2 years long if I would include all the things that happened along the way. But at least it tells my story in a big picture :)

@Esther V. thats what im saying, its not like "ima move to the middle of nowhere and be free and happy for ever"... This lifestyle comes with a ton of hurdles and drawbacks... I'd rather live in the city and make enough (/easier) money to buy/build a vacation house in the woods to spend my weekends/holiday there... its a far more sustainable option imo

As much as I admire and envy people like this, we need to remember that what we see are only fragments of these people’s lives.
Even Jonna has struggled, as she tells us in the beginning. Quitting school, living alone, worrying about money.
I have a twin who is abnormally well functioning, and as frustrating as it can be, I get nowhere comparing myself to her. I have ADHD, depression, anxiety - she does not. And even more fortunate people can’t do what she does. She just had a baby a couple months ago, and is working out. I sleep til noon and watch CZcams.
But I know this is just temporary. So I try to take things one step at a time. I’m still young. I still have a lifetime to reach my goals. One being to live in a small town/village like this, surrounded by nature.
We don’t need to rush. We don’t need to live the picture perfect life we often see on social media. We just need to do what makes us happy. Whether that is playing music, going on a walk, playing video games or watching tv. If you do what makes you happy, then you _will_ have lived life to the fullest.

Hi! As a person who has had a lot of the struggles as you, I thought it might help to share my version of a story from a dream to reality.
When I was in my teens and early 20s, I was very unwell. I have ADHD and anxiety, and at the time had severe depression. I eventually experienced hypomanic episodes and was diagnosed with bipolar II. I spent a lot of time thinking about ending my own life. But somehow, I didn't. I also had the good fortune to meet some mental health professionals who shared information about actions you can take to improve your mental health, instead of just giving me medication (which is an important tool too!) I dreamed of helping others with their mental health, but I was barely functioning myself.
The most important thing for me to learn was this: even though mental health problems are genetic, they flare up in response to stress in our lives. Every single person has some genetic risk of mental health problems. Those of us with more genetic risk are more likely to have symptoms. But we do have some control over whether and how those symptoms manifest. For me, that control came from befriending my own mind and challenging myself to do what I was afraid of.
Transforming my mental health was hard work. First, I spent months using every spare moment to journal out my thoughts. Next, I started opening up to others instead of living in shame. I read books and articles on behavioural activation and ACT and CBT and learned to tolerate my negative emotions and depression. I also started meditating, beginning with 2 minutes at a time. I slowly learned to be kind to my depression instead of hating it. I learned how to soothe myself before my mood rose into hypomania. I learned about exposure therapy for anxiety, and gradually exposed myself to the things I was afraid of until I became less and less afraid. Every improvement I made felt like I was "levelling up." The world outside of my pain slowly became bigger and bigger, and more and more beautiful. That feeling of levelling up is what kept me going.
Now, I'm in my early 30s, and I'm in doing a PhD in psychology at (arguably) the most prestigious university in my country. I'm the oldest person in my year, but it's okay. I haven't had a depressive episode in 3.5 years, or a hypomanic episode in 8. I've gone from so socially anxious I can't look a grocery store cashier in the eye to being able to network with strangers. I'll probably always be anxious and have ADHD, but it's much more manageable now. My long-term dream is to move back to my rural home town, and live a life surrounded by nature, where I can help my community heal and improve their mental health services.
Phew, that was a lot of babbling about myself! But I hope it might be helpful. If anyone in the comments wants recommendations on mental health resources, please let me know and I will do my best to point you in the right direction!

This is exactly what we call "to escape the matrix" And live your life however you'll gonna live.
The village you live in is very beautiful. I grew up in a village of about 40 people. The name of the village is Kasaan which means beautiful place in Tlingit. For me it was the best place to grow up. The closest store was 45 miles away , and the only way to get to store , was by either a boat , or sea plane.

There's internet everywhere now. She may lied a little about money, cause I'm Swedish and without money you can't just leave the city and go unless you're gonna live like an homeless in the woods, and just because it's a small house it doesn't mean that it doesn't cost a lot. Real estate agencies know how the place is nice and will try to risen the price when someone buys it, and trust me she bought her space cause these little towns are all over the estate agencies on internet, and you can't rent unless you're gonna stay for summer or winter. If you want to come here and buy then prepare a check of 500k;2mln dollars. Foreigners get even higher prices so be careful. And have a good 4x4 cause to go to the nearest market you're gonna have to drive for hours until it's night when you finally come over. Plenty of Sheiks bought land here an they travel with helicopters. So yeah, that's it.

I am yearning for something in life which I didn't figure out yet. I don't know what my passion is. This is my first year moving from my own land to foreign land. Everything I go around, and everything I experienced is giving me an opportunity to learn. I don't know what my future holds but I believed that my hard work will hit the spot one day. Being close to an environment that gives me an opportunity to throw out what had been hiding in my heart will surely help me to get that on point.

What I want to know is who paid for the house? What job was she working in that village so that she could afford a house, a good camera, internet, and all the rest until she got a following? Was in her parents? Patreon? Videochat? That's the part all of these "return to nature" stories gloss over. If someone financially supported her while she took pictures and played with her dog, that does not make her life less beautiful, but it makes this video dishonest and not helpful to people that might want to follow in her footsteps.
