    Impressive all the way around! I'm a loyal Cessna fan and have been for a LONG time, even though I did my initial training in an old "Hersey bar wing" Cherokee 140. Watching a competent pilot show his skills at multi-tasking even in a fixed gear single engine aircraft is awesome to watch. REALLY enjoyed this video!

    The only major competitor to the C-206 in the 6-seater class at comparable price range were the Beech Bonanza and Piper PA-32 Cherokee Six. The high wing Cessna design allowed it to compromise aesthetics for utility. I once flew the C-206 in the 1990s as well as 172 / 182(RG). Loved it! Go Cessna. Love the onboard avionis BTW, when I flew it was all analog / slide rule and pencil LOL.

    I'm sure most pilots have never heard of the Cessna 207. It has one extra seat and a nose baggage compartment which is necessary to control the aft cg. The engineer pushed the engine forward about 14-16" so the nose baggage is behind the engine and forward of the firewall. The engineer who designed the C-207 said if the airplanes tail settled to the ground without the pilot in the aircraft...but lifted the tail back up when the pilot got back in the pilots seat...then it was within cg. If the tail stayed on the ground when the pilot got in the pilots seat...then the cg was aft of the cg limit. I would bet that most of the Cessna 207's are in Alaska...and most pilots never heard of, or seen the Cessna 207.

    The retractable landing gear on the 210 can be a very expensive PITA to maintain.
    A fixed gear strutted 206 vs. a 210 is about 30 knots slower.

    • @davidpalmer9780
      @davidpalmer9780 Před 5 lety

      The wing struts on the C206 give me a bit more confidence than a C210 which doesn't have them. The fixed gear on the 206 is more rugged than the 210 and operating out of dirt strips in the Australian outback, I'd rather make that speed trade-off easily if it meant not being stuck somewhere waiting for gear parts to arrive.

    It's a family workhorse, especially if you're looking at 300 miles a leg with a maximum of 500 mile journeys. Any more and you'd want more speed for sure, even if you have to sacrifice the hauling capabilities. Also, this works great in the US and as a bush plane. In Asia, I'd be worried about the range. Wish the retract was still available. Makes a great case for the 210 turbo
