I like the silicon. It's fatter and it sounds warmer. (Generally, germanium fuzzes sound warmer, but I think in this case silicon is better in that).

How does the silicon fuzz factory compare to the mastotron? Seems like it might be the middle ground between the mastotron and the germanium fuzz factory.

SIlicon sounds well but there is something wrong with the germanium one, I've never heard one with such a tiny sound, no bass no highs only medium frequencies. It sounds (and looks) like a bad clone. Maybe wrong germanium transistors.
