The ER-2 is Thorpy’s unique take on the analog Uni-Vibe we all know and love from the 60s. Just like NASA’s ER-2 high-altitude aircraft, the ThorpyFX is on a mission of atmospheric exploration. The ER-2 is loaded with a classic lamp and photocell circuit to give the waveform that unmistakable rise and fall, but it doesn’t stop at just Speed and Intensity. The offset control can further tweak how the lamp ramps up, providing a wider variety of rhythmic swing and swish.
Of course you can’t forget the two modes: Chorus and Vibrato which are now footswitchable! The Vibrato mode produces a warmth pitch modulation that never overstays its welcome. This can be a great alternative to tremolo, especially when the offset and intensity are pushed harder.

Man, that foot-switchable chorus/vibrato is pretty genius. I have to stay with my Deja Vibe mkII for now though. Great playing as usual, Andy!

They aren’t 69 accurate.
The vibes were all different back then.
You don’t want one that’s vintage accurate. It’s why he tried to fix the issues that many vintage units had.
It’s great for how long ago he started making them, but it sounds limited next to a Sabbadius, Argenziano, R Weaver and many more, that are more recent builders. Just having the option of turning the mod off, and using the Preamp alone, is a great option on many. The speed control footswitches have a much fuller and just better sweep, than the Dunlop Expression out can do.
I’ve had a version of nearly every version Dunlop made.
This ER-2 has better sound options, but it lacks any speed control, which I at least want two speeds, in a Uni Vibe.
Formula B, makes a little more affordable one, with two speeds and an expression option, when you buy their smaller Uni Vibe.
Vibe the drive - don’t drive the vibe! Amen brother.

I think I'd rather have the vib/chorus footswitch be a mini-toggle and keep left footswitch tap tempo. Just seems more practical. I dont see myself switching between chorus and vib during the same song.

Hi, I'm looking for a univibe pedal that doesn't affect the tone, or rather, as natural as possible, because some completely change the sound, which one do you recommend?
It boggles my mind how people make Uni-Vibe style effects without the ability to use a speed control pedal that has the Cancel feature in the heel position. Why make a vibe that can't be used to play a la Hendrix?

Did they seriously not put a jack for an expression pedal?? On a Univibe? That seems like a pretty big omission.
It appears there is no manual speed control jack or ramp function from slow to fast at least, unless I’m missing something. Kind of important in my opinion of vibe pedals. Hoping I’m wrong.
