Sounds great and legit. I will still stay with the Conerstone Aquarium Vibe though, the tone and mix controls have proven to be indispensable. And if I need more vintage than that, I still have my DejaVibe :)
Argh - I literally bought a Retrovibe last week! Would have liked to try this too first! You’re right that it doesn’t sound like it’s trying to be an exact vintage replica like the Sabbadius or the Jam equivalents, kinda it’s own voice and interpretation. Sounds awesome.
Question: Should I wait to further discover? This Thorpy option sounds killer......Right now I am trying to decide between the JAM Retrovibe and the Formula B Vintage Vibe. Sabbadius options are out because of price except maybe the 68/69 mini.
@@2010njdevil I recently did a shootout with the Formula B and the Sabbadius. The Formula B is on the board and I returned the Sabbadius. Sabbadius was very high quality but it felt phaser like depending on the settings. The preamp/cancel function was awesome. The Formula B has a depth that is unmatched for a pedal of this size.

Great sound...but no foot speed control...my Mayer Voodoo Vibe + has this...and it works that sound...!!!!!

The current Aquarium sacrifices throb for functionality. This doesn’t.

I want one. UniVibe is a lovely effect and it’s a pedal type I do not own yet. There’s so many great options out there. The DryBell Vibe Machine, Cornerstone Aquarium, King Tone 1968, Formula One Vintage Vibe, Jam Pedals Retro Vibe, Pedal Pawns Gypsy Vibe, and now Thorpy ER-2 are all ones I’m considering. The Sabbatius stuff I need to look more into, but the drawback for me is the AC power on most of them and even though they are magical and authentic I just want something with a normal dc power jack. Any of those pedals would be an amazing intro into a real analog UniVibe, so which ever one I end of going for will be a fantastic choice
Have recently done a long term vibe shootout and recommend the Formula B, Fulltone Deja Vibe, Shin Ei Vibe 2, Sir Henry and Argenziano Effetti Gypsy Vibe. Each sound amazing and vary greatly with regard to price and size. Did not bond with the 1968, Sabbadius Tiny Vibe 69 or Fjord Frei.
I just bought a Sabbadius Tiny Vibe '68. Same pedal, smaller footprint and the power jack is a regular 18v DC style that isn't built in like on the big models.

Love Thorpy pedals, but for U- vibe, the Jam pedals Retro vibe rules!! And i own a killer sounding 69' original Shin Ei Univibe, so with some authority i can tell you which one's just kill it.

There’s so many possibilities with the speed change, in playing leads, or with feedback, etc.
Yes..!!..The foot speed control on my voodoo vibe +..makes a big difference for live work through my big Fender 100Twin..!!..Hard to believe I bought them both back around 94..!!!.Though still got my Laney60 and 4×12 stack bought new in 1970..!!!!

That’s a tough one. I’d say if you want more modern and diverse sounds go with the Thorpy
