And the funny thing is, that never even entered Trunks' mind. Frieza was just someone coming to attack Earth before Trunks could warn them about the threat of the Androids, and he needed to get him out of the way so they could deal with the bigger threat.
Of course. Seeing this guy with a sword effortlessly cut down the villain Goku and his friends spent countless episodes fighting? An incredible moment, to be sure.
The ending with the shouldering chunks.. Seeing this happen to the dude who'd been the biggest bad until then had me so excited to see where they went next
The music just gets you all excited and stuff, I kind of think they didn't consider the soundtrack with Kai. They might have gone "Oh we need music" and picked someone up but this is what made DBZ so famous, well this and the fighting etc but the soundtrack is really distinguished to any other anime. Sometimes I think if they'd mixed this track with the nice silence moments of the original Japanese it'd have created awesome unprecedented!
I don’t like DBZ Kai, but Frieza’s voice getting all distorted as he was sliced in half was actually better than the original. (Bruce Faulconer helps a lot)
I just realized how much irony the android/cell saga had the series started off with vegeta's son and ended with goku's. another ironic thing I noticed is that both half breeds ended up killing their fathers killers frieza killed vegeta on namek then was killed by trunks, cell killed goku when he blew up but then came back only to be killed by gohan

Nah, that would've been confusing. Kai had like 3 soundtracks and it was all because Yamamoto was finally caught stealing music. They ended up reusing Kikuchi tracks from japanese DBZ and then they got Sumitomo from Battle of Gods, Resurrection F and Super to do Kai Final Chapters.
My guess is that, the speed at which Trunks sliced him was so fast, that it instantly cauterized the wound from the heat of the friction caused. Just my headcanon tho.
I'd say they were replaced with bio-mechanical bodyparts because of the too high damage they took during the fight on Namek. As for bleeding, Steffon Doyle has a point. I mean, when the Death Sawblade minced him on Namek, he was bleeding quite profusely. Here...nothing. Maybe Trunks used a lightsaber? 🤣
I'm curious, what program do you use to remix these scenes? I've done like one scene in Kai where Piccolo powers up against Imperfect Cell with the SSJ3 theme but I did it with Live Movie Maker and could only do so because there was no music in that scene to begin with, I don't think MM will allow me to remove specific types of audio unfortunately. It'd be a big help if you answered because I'm looking for a good program to use so I can remix more Kai scenes with the Faulconer and possibly Sumitomo score, maybe do a remix of this scene with the Heroic Trunks theme
***** You need the Dragonball Z Kai DVD/Blu ray, then you extract the 5.1 sound audio track. Use a program like Vegas pro to delete the one audio track with the music.

This aged so well, it’s almost like you have Saiyan blood yourself. Resurrected for a solo film, killed by Goku again, re-resurrected for the new anime, manga, and other films, and gains TWO new forms, one of which puts him back on top of the DB fighters and truly fucks the power grading curve into the ground.
Despite me not liking Frieza and Gohan's Kai voices, this scene coupled with Faulconer's music makes it better than the orginal Funi dub. Makes me wonder what could've been had they used his music for this series.
I kinda hate that at no point Vegeta aknowledges the fact that Trunks avenged his race and he's proud of him because of it. Especially considering that Vegeta was in tears as he was dying when he asked Goku the exact same thing. AND that that Super bs had the balls to then resurrect Frieza twice and still not giving a Vegeta grown in character the chance to do it himself.
