Well, he "is" Vegeta's son. Trunks doesn't play around. In fact, he was one of the few characters in the series that refused to just sit back and do nothing while villains just casually transformed or did what they wanted.
Vegeta called him out on that, Goku and Vegeta as true saiyans believe it only to be fair if their foe is defeated at their absolute best, while Trunks has seen lots of calamity and wants to crush any threat ASAP
Well he’s the only z fighter who wasn’t raised or had the initial desire to be a great fighter… or having the privilege in the solace of having dragonballs taking care of all wrong doings.
It’s an extremely underrated element to the dbz universe. There was a video i remember watching that phrased it really well. The z fighters are different from the modern “superhero” because they don’t fight due to a moral sense of justice and responsibility, rather they are trained martial artists who only know resolution thru sparring and battle
@@sebiDD7 You are so right, that’s why it’s funny because a lot of the American don’t understand that the Goku they created in America is not the same one they created in its original. He is someone who fights for the sake of fighting, but the original airing of DBZ is Goku fighting for justice.

As much as I like King Cold's new voice, the part where he says "without this sword you're nothing" was a MILLION times better in the original Funimation Z. In this one, he's says it way too calmly, but in the original his "NOTHING" shout actually scared the crap out of me. Plus, the Faulconer track that played was intensely chilling. As far as this scene goes, the original Z prevails over Kai in every way.

1:13 I've always liked the subtle movement of the scabbard when he grabs the hilt of the sword. It adds realism. If this were Super, the scabbard would stay exactly where it was.

Trunks was done so dirty by the Cell sage. Came in killing freeza in no time and king cold even quicker. Only to do nothing for the rest of the arc.
He finished the androids and cell right before teleporting so he can end frieza and his father as collateral. Remember cell from gokus timeline was shown too much leniency and therefore transformed into something too powerful for trunks to handle

If I'm right, DBZ Kai is true to the manga, and in the manga, King Cold did not plea for his life like he did here. I heard Trunks just killed him in the manga. Is that true?

1. Goku MIGHT have spared him, but that is unlikely.
2. No, he could not be trusted.
3. King Cold was doomed the moment he turned Trunk's sword against him.
4. King Cold would NOT have become an ally, considering his untrustworthiness.
5. Trunks ignored King Cold simply because of two reasons: One, Cold basically turned on him. No coming back from that. Two, Trunks was raised in a future where the Androids he fought were more ruthless than he was. Plus, any remorse that could have been held for a living being was basically taken away, once the Androids killed Future Gohan. I mean, yes, he let the Z-fighters live, but because he needed them to make sure that nobody would ever go through the Hell he went through when he grew up. If it was up to him, and if he knew the power the Androids possessed, and if he knew what would happen...he could have done away with all the Androids, and Cell, all on his own.
