I will never forget Trunk's badass appearance and easily killing Freiza, that shit was completely mindblowing for me when I was a kid.
Literally effortlessly sliced him to bits. Easily my favorite moment and I remember the moment and the way o felt EXACTLY like it was yesterday and I watched it a LONG TIME ago lol
Bruh fr I was like, “Man, who TF is this guy?!”
And let us not forget, he also Dispatched Frieza's father King Cold just as easily right after killing Frieza.
Yep, like wow where'd this dude come from?!
yea i still remember how brutal this scene was ngl
God, am I the only one who thinks gohan defeating cell in that kamehameha battle was literally peak dragon ball??? That moment was number 1 in my book 🙌
i rewatch that at least every couple of months. My favorite moment for sure
one thing i dont see people mention much is, yes he was holding that kamehameha back with one hand, WHILE ALSO NOT CONCENTRATING PROPERLY, he was busy talking to his dead dead and STILL held that fucker back with one hand! dude really was stronger than everyone thought
Nope
Facts , that scene was crazy!!
06:34 for me, it's just the pinnacle of DBZ.
The soundtrack kicking in, the "VEGETA!?!?" scream, the "Now's your chance!!!!"
Gohans "UAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!"
Followed by the slow walk with only one arm just looking immense, 33 years old now and it still gives me the shivers.
Dude same
Bro i didnt have to see, the way you wrote was good enough for me to flashback and shiver
Bro i didnt have to see, the way you wrote was good enough for me to flashback and shiver
It was the apex of DBZ for sure, and the series probably shouldve ended there.
i love it so much, i just wish they weren't trying to give me epilepsy
Rest In Peace, Akira Toriyama. Your work inspired countless people. Dragon Ball/Dragon Ball wouldn't be the same without Akira Toriyama's genius. Thank you for everything!
Yes Sir, RIP!
love the bruce faulkner music, it made the show what it was in the US. without it, it's not even the same show, it's amazing how much music can transform something!
Music is life brother 🙏🏽
I couldn't agree more. His music brings it to a whole other level.
Yes. It still makes me shake..these videos..damn
Yeah it was a shame that he left I would have loved to have seen what he would have done with Super if given the chance.
Facts
Trunks is the most no nonsense character in the entire series. Anytime he has the ability to end his opponent he cuts right to the chase and ends them.
Future trunks yea cause of shit he's dealt with not just trunks in general its a specific trunks that's like that
@@tedski718 You are correct. I guess I didnt specify since he has his own spot in this top 10.
Was going to say... I think it’s bc future trunks experienced so much lost that he didn’t have time for “competitive sport”
@@candidkevi2719 Good way of looking at it! He actually wants to use his power to end evil. Not to test his strength.
@@candidkevi2719and he is vegeta son. Fresh from Namek. Vegeta was cold blooded then
Trunks hitting 18 with that. "This is for Gohan" before blasting her into oblivion will always be one of favorite dialogues in dragonball z lore
Yep, him totally obliterating the androids upon returning to the future was just totally satisfying.
Literally one of the reasons why trunks is one of my favorites. Just like goku dudes willing to do what he can to avenge his friends. Heroic shit💯
Trunks has absolutely NO CHILL. He just deletes the enemy that we've been watching for like years worth in episodes.
I'm honestly really surprised that Vegeta's Final Atonement wasn't mentioned anywhere on this at all. To me that's gotta be a top 10 or at the very least a honorable mention. Vegeta had probably the best character development out of anyone in DBZ and the way he put his family before himself and even shows a nod of respect to Goku by calling him by his Saiyan name. One of the great moments in DBZ, especially for people like myself who love Vegeta and the insane character development he had over the course of the show
Yes it should be top 10 because this is the moment when Vegeta first fights for someone other than himself. It's a pivotal moment in his character transformation.
100%. If Vegeta ended the buu saga right there I would think dbz the greatest anime of all time. Just fits so well goku ends frieza ark gohan ends cell arc vegeta finally atones for his sins and ends buu arc. Obv still love the show!!
No better moment in dbz, ever
His sacrifice makes me smile every time.
You do realise that it's a fan-made? I mean they had Gohan beat cell then higher up the list Gohan transform
When Cell watches Gohan transform and he says “Incredible” something about it gives me chills every time.
agreed!! its such a subtle comment but sums up everything that is about to happen next.
yea, just like vegeta was interested to see his perfect form, he was interested to see gohan's power. Guess his vegeta cells are showing :D
@@nikoladujmovic847 love that reference :D
@@nikoladujmovic847 I was re watching the whole Android Cell saga this week and your comment reminded me of what I was thinking when Semi Perfect cell was trying to use Vegeta's weakness to get the perfect form.. i was like bro you're going to fall for the same weakness in few episodes 😅
@@kumarayush9950 aah its amazing how dbz had those little things to consider about 👌
I was about 17 years old when the actual VHS tapes were released of Goku going SSJ in english from funimation, back in 1999 i believe. I went to the video store in the mall to buy the 3 tapes that had a total of 10 episodes. The 9th episode is where Goku went SSJ. It cost me just under $100.00 Canadian at the time. When I went up to the cashier, she said to me, "you are about the 10th customer today to buy all 3 of these tapes, and we literally put them on the shelf an hour ago. Is the show really that good?" All i said in reply is .... "it is life changing"
I still have all the VHS from first episode till the final episode of BUU saga
@@Anonymous-gh8kt Sell them. Whole things on Hulu.
@@kronosx7 I don't want to sell them lol, why pay for monthly for hulu if I got them to watch for a one time payment?
Why sell them.
1. Their value will only go up.
2. No monthly payment, they are permanent.
3. Nostalgia and memories.
☝️ what he said
It’s amazing, it’s been 22 years since I’ve seen goku transform into a ssj for the first time, and it still gives me chills when he does it 🤪
For me it's gohan killing cell
@@Joesmith-ub3sq gohan vs cell one of my favorites it’s like a proud father knowing his kid is graduating but not there to see it considering goku couldn’t celebrate the W with him
I agree with you in that order. Goku's original super Saiyan transformation is a franchise defining moment. It might even be an anime defining moment.
It most definitely is an anime defining moment man
That SS3 transformation will ALWAYS be legendary. The way everyone could feel the energy
Had to scroll a while to find a comment talking about it... And you don't have any replies 🤦🏽♂️ damn shame, because you're 100% right. The music and visuals they gave us fit so perfectly... Shit gives me goosebumps every single time. This was the most powerful shit ever. WE ALL THOUGHT this would destroy buu 🤣
I feel you, man. I remember screaming with him, feeling my energy going through the roof lol
It didn't win!
I found it a random throw away lacking the emotion of the other two and just a weird hair growth, buu saga was lame, should have ended at cell saga with goku passing the torch to Gohan
Ss3 is good but man ss2 gohan and ss1 goku were god level
Top 10 if you aren't a Vegeta fan maybe, I mean, Vegeta's sacrifice, or even Vegeta going SS for the first time is waaaay better than Gohan powering up in mystic...
Vegeta’s sacrifice is so top tier
Vegeta's Final Flash vs Cell
( I literally just posted this comment as a reply to a comment a couple comments before this one! lol )
They should give Vegeta a little spot light too. For me it would've been when he fought for the first time as a Super Saiyan against Android 19 and killed him with his " Big Bang Attack! " or another moment when he hit Perfect form Cell with his " Final Flash " Those would've been my 2 moments with Vegeta.
Vegetas final explosion should have been at the end of the Buu saga.
Birth of Kamiccolo was better then Gohan Mystic.
Gohan and the father son Kamehameha is something you'll never forget.
Never forget.
#1 is a no brainer, seriously one of the most epic moments in TV history.
Goku’s transformation in response to loss of his best friend. Really iconic and sets the the dragon ball anime apart from other anime. Kudos to the creator.❤
all because the creator got tired of colouring-in the black hair colour, he thought of yellow hair for a super saiyan.
Out of all the transformations through all of the DB franchise, still nothing beats goku turning ss for the first time. Lost his best friend and his rival right in front of his eyes. The pain, anguish, and anger flowing through him to reach that form was unbelievable and still is 😭
It's the most justified transformation of all for those reasons. Even Goku isn't in control of what's happening to himself.
The only other transformation that stands up to it imo is Gohan in the hyperbolic time chamber; again, a completely spontaneous response that he cannot fully control.
They should have had these moments less frequently...by the time it got to SS blue etc. I kinda lost interest.
@@sploogloo6892 SSJB was gotten in a different way because God ki is a completely different thing than normal Ki, though it is true that it is not as interesting.
UI/Mui was the only thing that could rival original SSJ imo
no long screams, just pure rage from goku. And he made frieza suffer to the point he begged him to kill him. Goku never did that to anyone. I still remember that moment and it still gives me goosebumps. I dont think we will ever get that moment from DB again.
Yeah, now people only need the tingling sensation in their back.
I believe It's the most memorable for two reasons:
1) We had to wait literally years for it to happen. We witnessed Goku's long and slow journey since he was just a kid, training with Roshi, Karin, Kami Sama, Kaio Sama, under gravity x100 and finally receiving that zenkai boost after recovering from Ginyu's battle. Everything led to that one point. Dragon Ball could have easily ended there.
2) At that time, we didn't know SSJ was thing or how it looked. We just heard vague rumours about it, and it was almost an urban myth. Watching it finally becoming true and confirming everything we heard about it as kids, was mindblowing. Nothing ever will compare to it because of that. Transformations nowadays are common and internet spoils everything. The context was vital for SSJ.
Great list but I think that Vegeta’s Final Flash on Cell belongs somewhere on here
It’s in the video lol
@@baysick11 no it’s not lol, I mean when he charges up for minutes and blasts half of him off, not when he hits him in the back to help gohan win
@@baysick11 thats a big bang attack lol
yeah and perfect cell transformation
Absolutely.
I say this on every DBZ video, but NOTHING will ever match the Bruce Faulconer scores...ever. the level of tension it created and how it perfectly set up the tone for each significant scene is the stuff of perfection...i grew up on it and probably am hella biased but I don't even care...goku transforming for the first time, gohan transforming both into SSJ & SSJ2 for the first time, him obliterating Cell and countless other moments were perfectly set up with the faulconer scores...ill forever love it and it will always be nostalgic for me
Agreed. I get some of the complaints, but overall its vastly superior to the Japanese music when it comes to making scenes more intense.
There was so many times the Japanese music just was super underwhelming for the moment, Vegetas final flash comes to mind every time.
I literally cannot believe there are fans out there who DON’T LIKE IT. The western music for DBZ was the best. A big reason seeing Gohan rip Cell apart or Goku going SSJ3 is so chill inducing is because the music!
I just watched this video and was like "WTF is this music, how can you compose something so out of the subject ???". Guess it is due to our childhood memories and nostalgy ^^
Goku going super sayian first time never gets old 💯💯
Im not even ashamed to say as a 33 year old man this stuff gets me feeling the emotions. You imagine its real life and its all happening and what they must have felt. Grew up watching this stuff and it just hits me in the feels
32 here. Just teared up when the dust clears and Gohan is standing there SS2... I still remember the day this aired in the US; my brother and I meeting up with our friends to talk about it after school.
Trunks absolutely clapping Frieza was the best one of all.
When I get my hands on your il- YYYYYAAAAHHAAAA!!!!!
Cell was left off, but that's my fav Trunks kill. He utterly humiliated him and broke him with words before killing him.
It's cathartic after all the agony he caused. Freeza was scared shitless and died humiliatingly
Hands down in dragon ball i love two villains get destroyed gohan destroys cell he has a perfect ego and trunks destroys frieza frieza acting like he defeat SS1 while he was defeated by goku SS1
The Bruce Faulconer score truly pushes the immersion over 9000! ❤ 🎶
This right here is the godfather of shonen anime. Yeah it moves at a snail’s pace and there’s more powering up and talking than actual fighting but think of all the anime that would’ve never existed if Toriyama hadn’t created this
Don't forget the stare downs
actually the comic is quite compact than the anime
@@loopsfruit6775 manga*
@@kureosk8 It's the same to them, they've had mags named stuff like "Comic Bunch" before for example.
I love the pacing. It makes everything feel earned
I can still remember, when Krillin died, the emotions that I felt, and then watching Goku go super Saiyan for the first time. I stood up off my couch and was screaming with him. The energy is real.
06:33 Man, Vegeta's theme is something, I get chills in my spine everytime I hear it.
its the best no doubt (i think)
Vegete the pianoooo
30 years old and still getting chills from most of these scenes... long live DBZ
You will be absolutely missed for what you’ve left to generations. Thank you Akira Toriyama 🕊️
this will hit you in the feels for 18 minutes straight
a true dbz fan, iv'e watched so many of these "top moment" videos, and this is the first i actually agree with. so many good memories, thank you!
Yep
They should give Vegeta a little spot light too. For me it would've been when he fought for the first time as a Super Saiyan against Android 19 and killed him with his " Big Bang Attack! " or another moment when he hit Perfect form Cell with his " Final Flash " Those would've been my 2 moments with Vegeta.
@@noxiouskunk7069 final atonement?
@@tolius9997 Yeah! That moment is also pretty dope and slept on! I love that he gave and sacrificed his life to try and kill and destroy Majin Buu... Kind of reminds me when Goku used his Instant Transmission technique on Cell to get him off Planet Earth before he exploded thus saving the Planet!
RIP Akira Toriyama. You were a massive part of my childhood and all these moments i still remember watching for the first time as a kid. Hopefully we can gather the 7 balls and wish you back.
Something every db fan can agree on: Gohan should never have stopped training 🚶🏼♂️
It seemed he was destined to be the most powerful.
@@nathan8590 exactly!
Nah if he dont stop he surpass writers 😂😂😂i get why they nerf him
@@User_Call_Me_Chaudary 🤣🤣🤣🤣 bruh!
Gohan disintegrating Cell is the most earned, amazing moment in all of Anime.
Gohan's SSJ2 is my number one simply because I was the same age as Gohan when DBZ was in the Namek saga (was born in 93) so he ended up becoming my favorite character. Respect the list either way, naturally the first power-up is so iconic.
Who's watching this after Akira Toriyama's recent death? 😥
Im here ,my boy had to leave us like that sad to see him to what a legend
I'd have to put Vegeta's final atonement somewhere on this list I grew up with the show and watching Vegeta make that sacrifice hit me like a ton of bricks as a kid.
In DBZ, you're a psychopath if you're screaming without an echo.
We all spent ages waiting for Gohan to unleash his power ever since he broke out of the space capsule he was locked in as a hostage that time. When he turned SSJ2 and went all gangsta on the cell juniors was one of the best moments in anime.
One of my favorite scenes is when future trunks gets goku to go ssj, and then trunks goes ssj too. The animation is really sweet in that scene
and Goku blocks all of Trunk's sword attacks with 1 finger, love that scene.
Still think Gohan going ss2 is the greatest moment. Gohan was always hyped up each season with his anger and getting to see it in full force against Cell gives me goosebumps.
Same here
Agreed
No it doesn't !!!!
Best dbz build up since radits rage till unlock SS2 Gohan every rage moment was a closing step
Anyone else remember binge watching the marathons of this on YTV as kid on weekends? I sure do, I made a point to not miss it.
Original DBZ really hit different and is the most nostalgic. But importantly it had the best of everything such as momentum and character build and soundtrack and voice acting and plot. It was just so much better back then. Yeah that shading is outdated but so much more pure in every way.
You're right about most things, but if you think the voice acting itself was better your ears just don't work.
And way better music than lame kai trash. Also more violent fights and bloodshed that kai toned down, OG DBZ was TV 14.
@@ihateeveryone8161soul and emotion is in original DBZ over Kai. And thats what matters most in this show, how it makes you feel. So originally DBZ is better
I wouldnt trade the nostalgic colouring for anything! Its so epic
Akria passed away today. This was a masterpiece.
Still get the most chills from when gohan transformed to super sayjin 2 and when goku transformed for the first time. Legendary shit!! Love it
Gohan to super sayjin 2 is the best I've ever seen still gives me chills
Shame it wasn't the Japanese music, that is more epic!
Bruce Faulconer is one of the greatest composers. What emotion he created from all of his tracks. Unreal.
Another awesome scene is when Gohan goes ss2 at the world tournament in front of the whole crowd during the buu saga, one of my favorite transformations in the whole series
I will never not be devastated he didn't get to finish that fight lmao
@@TeaFox so tragic. Would have been so crazy to see how all of the fights play out in the world tournament without all of them leaving
" How can a Saiyan fight like that and at the same time be so gentle that he wouldn't hurt a fly, agh it makes me mad just thinking about it! But perhaps it is my anger that made me blind from truth for so long. I see it now, this day has made it all too clear, You are better than me kakarot... *You are the best* "
-Vegeta
Never thought I’d be saying this, but RIP Toriyama. Thank you for the great memories.
Here after the news of Toriyama. RIP and thank you legend.
RIP AKIRA TORIYAMA ❤❤❤ Thank you giving us such a wonderful gift
Man, I'll never understand the people that prefer the original score to the BF version.
I won't even watch unless it's the BF. It's just so much more epic and impactful.
Agreed
Ur comment doesnt make sense. Do u like bf or not
Yup the ppl who don't like Bruce an the u.s DBZ are just weird af an have no idea what REAL DRAGONBALL IS!!
Seriously… It’s a sad testament on the show, but damn does the music make such a difference.
@@64Juice yeah i didnt get the chance but bro I missed out on cells theme, vegeta ssj theme, gohan ssj 2 everything its so much better with good music
The older we get guys, the more we will see each other in these videos! Growing up with DBZ is unlike anything else
Yes!
Aww I feel like Vegeta's sacrifice should've been here but good clips regardless.
100% missing Vageta's final atonement
I know this is 9 years later but...
How is Vegeta's sacrifice not at the top of this list, not on this list, not even on the honorable mentions list. Go back in time and fix this travesty
Goku transforming to SSJ will always be #1 all time. There really is no argument.
As for vegeta’s sacrifice, you can easily argue top 10 for it. It should be top 10 probably
Go back in time and fix your problem
yeah I think it should be top 1 scene but i guess people don´t like vegeta
too much of boo saga in this list but agree vegeta sacrifice was the boo saga moment that shouldve made it in top 10
Agreed!!!!! His sacrifice was the first time he did something for a reason other then proving his own strength.
Piccolo and Kami merging belonged I think, it was a rare non-Saiyan moment, and had important repercussions for the rest of the series.
Piccolo vs. Android 17 is one of my favorite fights in the series! Top 10 for sure
Goku going SSJ and then Gohan unlocking SSJ2 we’re some amazing moments for me as a kid watching DBZ
I fell a tear getting all these childhood memories flashback from watching this thank you ❤
Akira Toriyama i have to say it someone summon shenron please.......... rip sir thanks.
One of my favorite moments of the series is when Goku throws the Spirit Bomb at Frieza. The shot of Frieza holding his death ball with that look of frozen shock as he realizes the huge ball of energy about to come crashing on him is one of my favorites. It also precedes the death of Krillin and Goku’s transformation, so that whole sequence is one of the highlights of the series for me.
As a non-DBZ fan who hasn't watched any of the anime, the screaming during Saiyan transformations send me into another level of hysterics.
I would put Gohan turning super saiyan 2 at No. 1. I know Goku turning SS for the first time is iconic but man, you jus get chills when Gohan goes ssj2 vs cell.
Yes gohan turning ssj2 was on different level especially the screams
“Fight you, no… I wanna kill you” and Vegetas Atonement Top 3 Without a doubt
Yeah, Gohan told that to Majin Buu.
Cell, the symbol of the battle against one's self and own ego. Only when you rise above yourself and throw your ego to the side do you find piece. Beautiful ark
This video now feels emotional to me because our legend who caused DBZ to happen, just passed away. We will a thank him for giving us a great anime and his work
That scream for Gohan going ssj2 brought a tear to My eye...childhood relived ❤
The fact that almost half of these are Gohan, 3 of those are from when he was a kid, and 2 of them were from DURING the fight with Cell tells you all you need to know about how much care was taken to groom him as a character while he was younger. Definitely a sign that was a POTENTIAL jump-off point for dragon ball as a whole. Don't get me wrong, i'm REALLY glad it continues to this day (The DBS broly movie is literally one of my favorites, seen it a couple dozen times and could watch it a couple dozen more). Gohan played his part. And the fact that his character became such a meme in later seasons actually goes to show how much we all loved the series to begin with. It could have ALL ended at Cell, where Gohan's arc was meant to end and arguably everybody elses too. But we loved it so much that Akira Toriyama was willing to sacrifice arguably the best pre-Buu DBZ character of all time to give us the series we all know and love today. I was totally a fan boy of Gohan cus i literally grew up along side him. It's hard not to idolize someone who would be considered a peer who goes through the same character development he does. That being said, if they ended it after the Cell Saga, and I still knew what I did today, i think i would be worse off for it. TY Gohan for growing up along side me and helping teach me you can be kind-hearted while still being able to draw a line in the sand. And thank YOU Akira Toriyama for continuing the series that made my childhood a bit more bearable.
This moments are iconic enough to be on the top 10 anime moments.
RIP Akira Toriyama
You were one of the best parts of my childhood.
vegeta helping Gohan beat cell was such an OOOOOOHHHHH SHIIIIIIIT moment back then. I'll always remember that. the moment I really became a vegeta fan
Thank you for making Mystic Gohan #3. That one always gives me the most chills!!
#8 when future trunks appeared and completely demolished frieza was so cool. Esp after goku struggled with him so hard early on.
Such a badass intro for trunks.
RIP to the GOAT
RIP the epic legend. Akira Toriyama changed everything
And this is what it means to go even further beyond!! Is the best line in the series to me
facts that was when we thought there's no way goku gets stronger than this haha
That future trunks appearance was op. Killed frieze 5 slices and it took everyone else 100 episodes
That Gohan moment with that music man so many chills I get 🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹
The standoff between Goku and Majin Vegeta was epic
Only thing I feel is missing from this list is Vegeta's first final flash
And Vegeta's sacrifice
And Vegeta saying Goku's power level is over nine thousaaaand!!!
LONGLIVEAKIRA 🙏🏾
Fan since 1997 and yes, still my favorite anime of all time.
Same. Although DBZ was broadcast for me in my country during the early 2000s (with the English Funimation dub along with the Bruce Falcouner soundtrack).
This playlist helps you calm down after a really bad day! Thank you for this amazing upload bro! Hugs.
RIP AKIRA TORIYAMA
Although the SS3 didn’t have much effect on the fight. But I still feel that was the best moment. The way he did it as well
Most epic moment son gohan defeated cell with that kamehameha while goku supporting him.. still fresh from my memory.. 90’s kid here
i don't care what anyone says this masterpiece is what made anime and mangas what they are today
Thank you for bringing back the memories :)
Goku arrives on namek , vegeta power up against semi cell , gohan power up against perfect cell , gohan becomes super sayan 2 , goku goes super sayan 3 and the whole world was watching , gohan arrives to fight majin boo .... these moment are the best
I agree with this list more than any other list video I have ever seen. Great job!!! Love to see the og DBZ I grew up watching every Wednesday at 5. Burce Faulkner MUSIC and no Coleen Clinkenbeard Gohan perfect DBZ.
Most of this video which consists of screaming is pretty much me on the toilet, lol.
“Wow! He’s ascended past his previous limits!”
Ultimate Gohan transformation just gave me goosebumps...like i don't remember it doing that before... 😅
The themesong when Trunks turned Frieza into cold cuts was insane!
i remember only having one dvd of dragonball z as a kid growing up. and those few episodes i had featured Trunks defeating the Androids. that will forever be a core memory in my childhood. thank you Akira Toriyama, for shaping how i aspired to become and giving me hope. R.I.P. Sensei
What a great video to reminisce to while we grieve together, thank you
Anytime vegeta's theme plays, is a bad ass moment
First super saiyan still gives me chills after more than a decade.
There's so many great moments, it's tough to decide
Rest in peace, Toriyama 🫡🫡🫡
It takes goku almost destroying a city with the amount of energy he needs to gather to attain ssj3 yet it takes gotenks a little power up to do it, damn
The power of 2 saiyans was easier I guess lol
