Looking forward to the painting tutorial for this bust!
Completely agree about hyper detailed models. Initially they seem cool but in painting they're actually extremely fiddly, restrictive and the detail actually gets lost in the end anyway because everything looks busy and your eye can't properly pick it all out
Being a undead fan (I blame the Fantasy version of Nagash's origin!), This does look pretty cool, if over detailed. Which is a bit of a shame, as its otherwise a really good bust.
would love to see a tutorial on heresy emperor's children
Whilst the bust overall is cool I hate how digitally sculpted it looks. Particularly areas like the hair on the skull in the front, as well as the swirly details on the shoulders and helmet.
Definitely agree with you on the highly detailed kits being more annoying to work with as it just becomes tedious. There's definitely a happy medium between too few and too many details though.
I think the digitally sculpted look is something that goes away once it's painted and you get a bit of texture and lighting on it. I guess we'll see when I paint it!
Really nice bust, but I'm not very fond of the horns
The helmet is my favourite part as it'll be good for some oxidised
NMM!
