Do you need to have the phone plugged in to make Google Maps or Waze work or does it leverage the 4Runner GPS. I want the Android setup and maps working without my phone plugged in. Also does this impact the SiriusXM radio connection? Does that need to run through the phone or will it use the native 4Runner connection?
Yes you need to have the phone plugged in to make the carplay work. Then you can run google maps or waze on the carplay platform. It’s using the gps off your phone. It does not affect the Sirius XM radio or connection. You can play Sirius XM radio as usual

I love how all just magically disappears behind the radio after install. Probably the one part i actually needed to know is where to hide all the stuff so i can reinstall the radio... nothing fits.
Nic Restrepo there’s actually lots of room in the back towards the glove compartment area. The key is to organize your wires so they don’t tangle. We recommend wire looms. If not, Tessa tape. We will try to put a video on organizing wires and finding space to mount the devices just incase you’re still having trouble
Thank you, I was able to slide it all in there. There was quite a bit if rattling from the modules moving around when i went over bumps but velcroing then together and shimming did the trick
Do ALL the steering wheel controls now? Can 1 of the buttons activate Siri while I’m driving, similar to the aftermarket Kenwood head units? And when the wireless CarPlay option becomes available, will it be a total replacement or just a new attachment? Will it be a small upgrade fee for an attachment or a discounted price for whole new model?
The volume and track up/down buttons work. To activate Siri you will have to long press the home button on the carplay screen. Wireless will be an add on unit.

Yes the backup camera will continue to work. We are not sure what you mean by smoother? It will be as smooth as when you use the map application on your phone p

This is a stupid question but does installing this void factory warranty? I would guess not since its reversible. Also, should you not disconnect battery while doing this?
With iOS 13 it seems that the Siri button goes away and you summon Siri with “hey Siri”. Siri responds to initial commands, but can’t hear me after. For example if I say “hey Siri, text Ann”, Siri asks what I would like to say to Ann, but cannot hear me after that.. if I say “hey Siri, text I am on my way to Ann”, ask if I’d would like to send and can’t hear me after that. Is this possibly a problem with how I installed or is something else going on? Thanks!
The bottom left button on the screen becomes the new Siri button. You will have to long press it to summon Siri. The issue sounds like it is related to the app. Will you try it with the phone disconnected with the vehicle to see if the issue replicates? Make sure you test it in the same environment (ambient noise level, reception level and the phone's status)

Phone button picks up and hangs up as well. We haven’t priced out the wireless kit yet

If installed correctly, this will not void factory warranty. Battery should be disconnected before the installation process.
