Slow Cooked Beef Brisket Yeros & Goats Yogurt

  • I've not indulged in a Yeros for so many years that I can't even remember the taste. However, I do remember how bad it made me feel! All those artificial sauces, the excessive spices, dairy and whatever else they put in those things really upset my gut. So, as I've been travelling along my journey to becoming as free of SIBO as possible, I decided to get a little creative!
    Who said you can't make your own delicious Yeros with organic, grass-fed meat, your own goat's yogurt sauce, and homemade pita bread? I did just that, and boy, was I overcome by the deliciousness of it all! Even my animals were overcome by the need to try to eat my dinner!
    Thankfully, there was plenty to go around, and I had leftovers for the following week. Although this journey took a while, it was worth it. I will make many more variations of the humble Yeros, and it always tastes so much better when you use simple ingredients like oregano, lemon juice, a little bit of garlic, salt, olive oil, thyme and onions. You will be extremely supposed as to. How little you put in this meat will make it tender, succulent, and delicious.

    Recipe below:
    For the meat
    1-1.5 beef brisket
    Juice of one lemon
    any herbs you have on hand. I used oregano, greek seasoning, paprika, and Bavarian chicken salt
    2 cloves garlic
    two stalks of green onions
    For the pita bread (I used half of this mix to make a mini loaf of bread
    1 tbsp honey
    2 tbsp yeast
    4 cups of baker's organic flour
    2 cups of lukewarm water (1.2 cup boiled and the rest cold to make lukewarm)
    Olive oil to work with the sticky dough
    For the goat's cheese sauce
    Juice of one lemon
    4 tbsp olive oil
    Pinch of salt to your liking
    3 tbsp oregano
    1/2 cup feta cheese
    1 cup goat yogurt
