Your problem with the gearshifter in the backwards gears (2nd and 4th) are probably solved by switching to 6 cylinder gearlevers. Had the same thing after a 4 to 6 cylinder swap...
Ik heb deze ook, maar de borgring aan de onderkant houdt hem niet naar beneden. Ik trek hem nu regelmatig eruit en dan moet ik hem er onderweg weer terug inslaan. Enig idee hoe ik hem kan borgen?
Dat is raar is die ring dan te smal dat je hem er doorheen trekt zit mij mij gewoon goed geen problemen mee ervaren. 🤷 eventueel een dikkere borgring erop. Of het geultje waar het invalt even (heel klein beetje) uitvijlen dat die snap ring en dieper in zit. Geen idee. Beetje prutsen maar. 1 voordeel je hebt em er zo uit om te kijken.
Break them if you don't want to use it again. Just make sure you don't damage the aluminum holder. But you can break them all out and it should come right out .

There is a circle of white clips 2 of them are different with little tabs opposite off each other jam pliers in there and twist it 90' degrees. It should come out. It a little bitch to get out sometimes tho.

@@willdossett2387 the red base? Not the oem one? In that case it just a little bit stuck, there like a snap ring on the bottom of the short shifter one. If that is off start hitting it upwards 🤷♂️

Yeah it's not a ideal position. I was struggling aswell but it worked at the end. Death things never win bro. Put a little more anger in it.

Youll need the bend circlip pliers i have the straight ones and its not easy without bending the clip
i got the rod at the bottom disconnected so the shifter is now a floppy mess but how do i get the rod out of the hole. it just doesn’t wanna come out…

Last time at a friend we just banged and broke the white ring so it just comes out. Since the whole piece will be replaced anyway.

Depends on the rubbers and bushings of your gearbox and engine. Maybe give them a check up.

It a bit stiffer/ more notchy as oem. Yes that's normal. Also the factory one was a lot stiffer when it was new. It will wear in.

Special pliers. Some patients, and room to work. It's extra hard when you don't have the space underneath. But yeah it's a bit of a bitch to get in
Done mine on e30, but not as smooth as your, big crunch noise each gear change and totally solid

Replace your shifter bushings lol, you shouldnt do an aftermarket shifter if you're not gonna replace all the bushings
