    Hey mate, what takes the side to side play is the dssr, the shifter only changes the throw.

    Thought that short shifter just plug n play. But if it needs that many works to install it, I need to think twice 🤔

    Every bmw I’ve driven has had a floppy shifter - including mine. At this point I’m convinced it’s from factory

      @MaxFuller  Před 2 lety +1

      Yeah true hahah need a proper self cantering shifter to get rid of the flop but they are expensive

    Hey does it still use a push down to find reverse or does it just happily go in now without any safety precaution

    • @MaxFuller
      @MaxFuller  Před 2 lety

      Hi, no these don’t have push down, they don’t have push down from factory either, to put into reverse it’s just a lil bit stiffer than the other gears ☺️

      @MaxFuller  Před 2 lety

      Yeah, you can change the little bush/linkage on the gearbox, but it’s really hard to get to when it’s in the car

      @@MaxFuller Yea but just to remind you that there will always be play in that part. The shifter can't work if that bushing is solid.

    Guys if you already have a sloppy shifting feeling then installing this short shifter will only amplify and ruin your transmission and dentent even faster since the entire weight of this long short shifter is resting on your transmission detents all the time

      Bro it’s literally a chassis mounted shifter, in fact I’m pretty sure we both seen this guy Mount it with four bolts to hug onto the chassis
      So how is shifter messing up anything?

    • @onesikm3
      @onesikm3 Před rokem +1

      @@oa4604 you must not see what I see right ? Since you have to ask the question it’s really common sense guys. I’m speaking from experience not just talking out of my rear end. What poIINT are you getting at with the 4 mounting bolts ? Lol
      My message to the public was don’t think this is going to solve your sloppy shifting issues. And since there is no self centering spring with these budget line of chassis mount shifters the entire rod assembly and pivot is reliant on your transmission internal centering springs. If you need more of explanation then I suggest you do more research between the pros and cons of self centering spring chassis mounted shifters 🤷🏼‍♂️

    • @oa4604
      @oa4604 Před rokem

      @@onesikm3 the mounting bolts are for the shifter being mounted to the actual car which also supports the weight of the entire shifter
      If your scared about springs, the ones that are inexpensive and replaceable (that should probably be serviced since it’s “sloppy feeling”) then you should be watching the video on how to install the self centering shifter which was designed for what a short shifter isn’t designed for SELF CENTERING
      YOU need to go online and deal with the problem the YOU worsened because of mods before maintenance 🤦‍♂️
