This makes perfect sense if you take into account the guy is a scientist. Getting and giving credit is probably the most important thing for scientists. Just read any rea search paper and look at the references page, or listen to any Radiolab and listen to the end when they credit even the dude who made them a coffee in the morning 😂
Fun fact from someone who studied IP in law school: There was a case where a phone book company sued a rival for copying their phone book. They argued that names and phone numbers are public, they couldn't have copied the rival. Company #1 responded with "Bro, we created 20 fake names and numbers. They are in your book too." Now I look at that list of waypoints in the guide, and I see them copied down to the decimal point....

MrGM absolutely knows who Moudi is, not just because he's probably sniping his content but because the likelihood of two content creators operating in the same niche space not knowing about each other is basically unbelievable.
I thought that part was the weakest argument in the whole video. Telling someone that is harassing you that you don't know who they are is just a way of trying to piss them off. If you call me a little bitch and I say "I don't even know who you are" it's just a comeback, not a statement of fact.

This is pretty simple. Moudi has a PhD and is bringing the mindset of a research academic to his WoW content. In academia if you’re the first to discover something and publish it then all subsequent folks who touch on the subject have to cite you.
Only If they use your research. What is normal in science.
And you can always arrive to similar results without consulting other parties, while its good practica before you publish anything, you do a full literature review

It's pretty obvious that MrGM has relied on Moudi's research in order to put stuff together, to a pretty substantial degree. To then try and say he has no idea who he is, and then to feign discovery of things when they have already been documented... It's pretty much as blatantly disrespectful as you can get.
To be fair most other game's creator communities do this. They always start by "Check out this cool thing X discovered, I watch them a lot and I am glad they figured this out. Go give them a like and sub." Whereas in WoW every creator just straight Cntrl Copy Pastes people's full typed-up guides into a video and doesn't mention a name ever. Which is all it would take to avoid this stuff.
This video is the reason why Asmongold will be recorded in the history of Twitch as one of the GOAT streamers of all time. It's so crazy that he made me watch a 90-minute video about a random Guide CZcamsr/Streamer about a game I haven't played much, maybe 150-300 hours

5. Innocent until proven guilty. MrGM has no obligation to prove his innocence. It is perfectly reasonable of him to tell Moudi to f off and leave him alone. If you see this as "evidence" for anything, you need to get your brain rot checked by a doctor.
Isn't it denying something, if Mr. GM says "I have no idea who this guy is", when we then get clear evidence that he deletes his name on lists in screenshots and such?
I'm not saying it's 100 % proof Mr. GM is stealing content, but he does appear to lie about things in the case.

This guy convinced me, although he presented his case less like someone with a PHD or whatever he said he has and more like a guy thats been living in a parking garage for 25 years.
I feel like this happens a lot. it was the case with the whole Runescape debacle from like....several months ago? A year ago? Sit down, write out bullet points. Make a case. But like, these people just come off like theyre ranting.
Partial part of the issue here is that it is very clear that English is not Moudi’s main language (from my understanding he’s Swedish (which I am), from a country which has a generally high understanding of English but is not necessarily 100% proficient in it). Add on top of that the fact that he is evidently invested in this and has been agitated for months it seems like if not even longer. I am not surprised the way it’s presented is subpar for his education. And I can almost guarantee that if this video was made in Swedish, on a subject that did not emotionally agitate him as much, it would be much more professionally done and better structured.
He has a Phd and always been a passionate guy, we haven't been close friends but known about each other's existence for over 20+ years, and as far as i remember we both have had same difficulty to hold back and keep our emotions in check when we've been wronged.
I'm kind of sad that he didn't present his case in a calmer manner but also a bit emotional that he's the same guy he was in high school 🥲

@@FoxiestLiait's not a language gap, he was very eloquent when attacking the professionalism of the Community Manager. The problem comes from repeated accusations without smoking gun proof. As Asmond says, he's so far into it that he can't see why a reasonable person would doubt him. He should have never reached out to the CM without the evidence in hand. There is no excuse for waiting to be asked, as if he is entitled to be believed because he knows it's true.
It's not a language gap that he DM'd someone with unwanted correspondence to just say 'STAHP IT!' Repeatedly. What did he expect to accomplish? The thief would say "Oh yeah ur right my bad". It just doesn't make sense. That is how playground quarrels are handled. Sue the guy, provide indisputable proof, or stop harassing the guy.

This whole situation reminds me of when I was socially awkward and 20 years old trying to tell quips and jokes. I'd say a funny clever remark.. nobody would hear it except for one dude and then he would repeat it louder and get the laugh from the whole room while I felt robbed. I mean.. I didn't really care, at least the joke got out there, and maybe I said it wrong.. but after a while that stopped as i matured and possibly got louder.

I am also a scientist and know this guys' type well. Many of us are good at thinking about the technical aspect of the science itself, but lack the self awareness to realize that the reasoning we assign to other people in social situations might not be correct. In science having a dialectic conversation has the purpose of establishing truth. In casual things like playing world of warcraft, there are many paths that don't need to all end at the same place.

If they have a community manager the simple solution, in my opinion, is have these creators report what material they're working on while they're working on it. It would be very suspicious if this guy reports their content-in-progress, then posts it once finished, and then have Mr. GM come and report that he's working on the same content immediately once it goes public.

Hey guys. I'm a personal friend of moudis, I've played with him since TBC, and have been guildies with him the entire time. I can't stress how nice and polite a guy Moudi is, and it would take a lot for him to make any kind of accusation. He's so anti drama it's crazy for me to watch this.
That said, I know firsthand what work he puts into his content and website. Those in the know, know exactly who Moudi is. Obviously I'm biased on this subject, but having watched moudis video and looking at his examples, he's 100% in the right here. It genuinely baffles me why people are taking the other dudes side on this 😅

Asmongold is saying something I wish more people thought about, even if something seems suspicious and maybe looks for sure like it happened, you still need evidence. You can't just make claims without hard evidence. Moudi could be right, but he can't rely on hearsay and how he sees it, he needs evidence of everything, ESPECIALLY if he's going to a higher power.

What will happen if this continues? Most likely the guy who produces the results will quit and the guy who ripped off the work will move on to leech off from the next member who is producing results, until it a) either stops or b) everyone who did free work for the benefit of us all is gone and the leecher managed to make the whole community a worse place for everyone.

Personally I think content is fair game if you're putting your own spin/style on it. We all do it in a way. What I want to know is why does he keep saying 'I put all of this time researching into it and MrGM only put a few hours into it' Firstly, he doesn't know that MrGM wasn't also putting in that much time, he's not sat at his computer with him. And secondly, didn't the Dev guy say that he'd been sending them both info? So was there really '4 hours a day for 18 days' of research going into that video?

@@MichaelLoda In the video Asmon clearly does not like Moudie to start the video and begins with skepticism but after Moudie presents some evidence, even though Asmon doesn't agree with all of it he agrees that some of it is valid. The two being 1. Why go out of your way to edit a screenshot to remove Moudie from the picture and 2. Why claim you don't even know him? Then go out of your way to do that? This proves MrGM is a little shady. I think it's weird to go as far as to photoshop someone out of that picture and then claim you don't know him to others.
Asmon also says that Moudie gives off a schizto persona so it's hard to believe him but his arguments are actually valid. The other dude also just looks guilty and is a proven liar.

I would check the times whenever Mr.G’s guides used coordinates does Moodi’s guide also use them? As in is there a pattern of usage of waypoints vs no waypoints in guides they release (as well who released guides first)? Pretty sure those 2 datapoints will shine a ton of light on this.
I wound up on moudi's website only once becuase it had a comprehensive guide on the forbidden reach vaults the day the content dropped on live. I never knew about moudi until this video. He made a pretty good guide tbh.

If he had done an experiment before coming out with this as well with fake information he could have proved it as well.

It’s not that he’s stupid, it’s that he actually cares about making real content for his viewers.
The problem is that MrGM probably knows what he is doing, and would try out methods before posting. Doing numbers and stuff is kinda different though, that is easily used to fool a plagiarizer.
Moudi is a scientist, so he's thinking about this as though somebody is plagiarizing his research. Regardless of whether MrGM's behavior is ok in WoW farming guides or not, it is completely and obviously unacceptable in scientific research. You can't say "I heard a rumor" when someone already published that information. If this was science and not WoW, what Moudi has presented in this video would seriously damage or even end MrGM's career.
it's pretty obvious in a sus feeling way that there's some weird behavior on MrGMs side. And the copying of the coords is so very close to identical that it might as well be touching tips with a pencil in between the tips. of course there's still some evidence that needs to be compiled before throwing the hammer at him. but it seems the majority from the vote is weighing heavily on Moudi being right. I feel this will not be the last we hear or see of this.

I am glad that asmon just went "yep he stole this guys content" even if he was trying to make excuses for him.
This shows a point that i learned irl that even if you are right, the way that you address and behave when you have prof and solid arguments, can make you look like the person in the wrong. If he didnt send those Twitter comments losing his mind and petty insults, just showed evidence instead of using his emotions then a lot more people would be on his side.
if you have ability to analyze it deeper, you can see where the emotions come from. Ofc presentation matters, but i always try to think what makes one emotionally unstable and include it to whole picture.
To be fair if he is telling the truth. I would be pissed too if I spent countless hours just for someone to take all my credit and easily get views. If he is telling the truth. Then again it is free market but I understand his frustration.

Asmon, if Moudi changes his content to a different game or other interests and you notice a marked decline in GM content then I think it’s difficult to argue the correlation as mere coincidence. Regardless it’s sad that people have to treat each other this way and not respect each other
This is my honest opinion:
1. Moudi and MrGM operate in the same space, so they are bound to make the same content as the same info gets fed to both of them at the same time.
2. Moudi posts faster than MrGM, so he starts getting tilted everytime MrGM tails his content.
3. Moudi malds at MrGM and tells him to stop
4. MrGM malds at what he thinks is a ridiculous accusation and decides to begin trolling Moudi
5. MrGM makes fun of Moudi on stream, subtweets him... KEY: He starts going onto Moudi's site and STARTS to copy shit verbatim from the site to repeat it in his own content to troll Moudi. This explains why he has a shit-eating grin every time he copies Moudi explicitly.
6. Moudi malds out and cusses him out on discord directly, eventually leading to this video.
I think Moudi schizoed out on MrGM, and MrGM responded by psychotically confirming Moudi's suspicions by trolling him and starting to actually copy his content, making it look like Moudi was right all along.

If MrGM is truly copying his content as you said and not crediting Moudi for his days of work, Moudi is the victim here. Additionally, what is the point of Moudi making better content if it only serves to benefit the person stealing from him? Just because someone is funny does not mean their actions are justified, especially when these actions harm others for their own benefit.

I never played WoW once in my life but damn was this entertaining. I smiled and laughed a lot. Honestly if I actually watched WoW content of this kind I'd probably take Moudi's side. The thing is, everything else could maybe be passed off as a coincidence, but the deleting of the name combined with the coped waypoints? It shows there's at least been one isolated incident, and that's after he had cause for concern in the first place. So going by hard evidence alone, you'd reasonably expect there to have been at least 2 isolated incidents.

I think its normal for a PhD to be worried about someone taking their intellectual fruits without crediting it.
