Gamehendge is the fictional setting for a number of songs by the rock band Phish. Most of the songs can be traced back to The Man Who Stepped Into Yesterday (or TMWSIY), the senior project of guitarist and primary vocalist Trey Anastasio, written while he attended Goddard College in 1987. The recording of TMWSIY has been heavily circulated among fans and is considered by some to be an unreleased Phish album.

I think this contains the quintessential versions of both Lizards and Tela. Fishman's drum rolls that occur at 11:25 or so and continue throughout the phrase are the only time I can remember hearing him do that, but I may be wrong. There are a lot of things to love about this classic recording! Thanks for posting it.
30 year drummer here and follow fish's work closely. I believe it did happen at other times, but after the band transitioned to more of a big arena sound those rolls really don't translate well in the mix. That's my guess anyway. I certainly do the rolls when I play to this....cause they're fun.

My phirst PHISH tape from back in the day. Got it sometime in the early 90's while I was living on Pheland street in Springfield ma. It was a glorious time, I was going to every phish show I could and the Grateful Dead too, Jerry was still alive..... I was in my early 20s I will always remember my time on Pheland street phondly. This is my favorite version. So good to hear a good sound quality version. My tape from the old days was multigen by the time I got a copy of this show a year later and had a lot of tape hiss. I just returned from India and stopped in CA for 4 shows on this tour before heading back to FL. I started the next show after this one, so I missed this one.
Love that I have been following you for your other interests. My cousin showed me this one night and had a blast with him listening to this with him. To me it's just crazy to me that I look at who it is that posted it and it's you. Sometimes it's a crazy world.

That’s because this was before that statement was just a cool catch phrase for wannabe hippies. Also, the fact this video doesn’t even have 60,000 views yet tells you how many people truly love Phish.
It amazes me Trey had this much occult knowledge as a young man, must have been in early twenties when he wrote this, that is young for this much occult knowledge; and then to be able to put it metaphorically into a outstanding musical score. I guess it was just a foreshadowing of the greatness to come, or maybe its just destiny.

This was my first Phish bootleg. Back in the Maxell tape days...3rd or 4th generation copy. This tape was a permanent fixture in my first car all those years ago... great memories. Thanks so much for sharing.

Jim I have spent many hours learning from your sites and talks. I heard your live stream today. Very emotional and always informative as usual. I will stop and not blab. I am trying to find out the definition for the the small drops of brownish goo that have been falling on my car. 5 years now. My reason is me and my wife have been hit on the face and last year developed a terrible skin condition. I thought it was our post treatment Lyme's that has never gone away ? Can you guide me to any information on your terrific sites. Jim we cleaned up our lives years back. This skin stuff looks like the dodgy topic " Morgellons " .
