Incredible how Ustinov knows Bach so well. Perfect pastiche! What a thing to pull off! Absolutely brilliant. And of course, Ustinov speaks perfect german in real life, but he sings the Bach parody as how people perceive german. Utter genious.

Looked up Ustinov's "Mock Mozart" (a longtime favorite of mine) on CZcams and this came up as a suggestion. It is even funnier, I think! It was wonderful to see Sir Peter's facial expressions and body language. It takes someone with a real love of music to make such a brillaint parody.

I have absolutely no idea what Sir Peter is singing about... BUT it is wonderful, his comic timing, musicality and sheer joy is brilliant... I am still chuckling away and shall watch again..... :0)x

Their sketch, in which they play two con-men attempting to write an opera based on "Lady Chatterley's Lover", was reportedly entirely improvised. Apparently they also did something similar on a UK chat show called Parkinson, and a friend told me that this was included in a broadcast in honour of Parkinson's 50 years at the BBC this evening. Can't wait to see it!

I find Moore and Ustinov very funny but don't find Borge funny at all,don't know why that would be.
