I bet I'm not the only one who puts on one of these Carson show segments just to forget about the dreadful world we are now living in... Being British it's new to me, but Cuddly Dudley has always been a legend (RIP) ... so I now realise was the great JC! Thanks for the entertainment!

John Cleese? Johnny Cash? Oh, .. Johnny Carson?, of course. Yep, I know where you're coming from, you're not the only one,...whether it's binge watching old episodes of Bonanza or the great Brit comedies, Steptoe, Pete and Dud, Till Death...., Dad's Army, Thin Blue Line, etc. or watching the great music from the 60's, 70's, 80's (and before), it's all to escape from the sad, greedy, self absorbed times we live in now and call me a sentimentalist,...I don't give a s***.

Yeah.. DM, from humble roots, went on to Oxford on a full ride (tuition + lodgings) as an organ scholar, a most competitive scholarship that entails the recipient to play his college’s (Magdalen College) huge church organ for various services (choir practices, invocations, church services, as well as recitations, etc) for the duration of his stay until graduation; he left Oxford with two undergrad degrees, a BA in music and a BA in composition. CZcams features a taping of his musical talents on “An Audience with Dudley Moore” where his humour and musical chops are displayed amply, esp towards the 27:00 mark. ✌🏼

Every time I hear the band it’s a big treat. How about Tommy Newsom playing the flute. He was obviously quite a multi-instrumentalist. Moore and the boys seemed to be having a lot of fun, which makes the performance more enjoyable to watch. And that was a powerful yet nuanced sax solo. As I have commented before, whoever was in charge of audio for the TS would always do a fantastic job of mixing the sound for the band yet the bass sound was barely there for the trio. Overall, bravo… keep’em coming.
