if you read this comment "watl watl" - Hry
what do we think the name of 1.20 is going to be??
hopefully not dunes and runes it kinda makes no sense (YESSSS!!!!!! It didn’t happen!!!!!!)
i think maybe james or robert would be pretty good
exploration update
The archeological biome update
@@Cayleb365agreed
I know it might be tricky because the textures are quite wide but I really hope we get the functionality that you’re able to put tall plants into the decorated pots since we have no means of potting and displaying them as is. I see no reason why we couldn’t get dyed pots! Especially since when they don’t have shards in the recipe they’re just… plain pots but are still called ‘decorated pots’.. would make them a bit more decorated y’know. Also seeing the crossbow item frame fix makes me want a crossbow shard! 🌸
Yes! And glazed pots too!
Would be cool if you could craft them using glazed terracotta (or glaze them with dyes in a similar way) to get more designs. Of course, they probably won't do that since it would reduce the interest in the archaeology features.
Glazed terracotta planter pots!!!
Ive always wanted to be able to put the larger flowers in pots. I really think they should be able to with the bigger pots.
Smart love this idea
You should be able to glaze the pots. The color tones could be similar to the terracotta. I think that would be nice to allow some more diversity in the decor
Colour*
@@Fakeaccount-si9bv in America *Color
@@Fakeaccount-si9bv cuoalroor
@@Fakeaccount-si9bvboth correct.
I think that will happen. May take a little time. Start off small and build from there.
I don't know about a full block but I do think boats should at least be able to go up slabs/stairs.
Should be a gamerule
They can
@@thelostjadedragonet338 no they cannot, just tested it
@@thelostjadedragonet338 boats can’t even climb on top of a carpet from ground level. It’s sad
they should be able to go up one pixel. Path dirt and such.
idk about full blocks but i think boats should at least be able to go up slabs (ice slabs PLEASE), or at the very least be able to get up/over 1-2 pixel changes like water to land and path to grass lol
Or as a gamerule
I think they should be able to go up ice blocks at least, I understand not wanting them going up normal terrain blocks since that makes minecarts and horses kind of pointless.
I'm more for the 1-2 pixels
@@patrickchoque7720they all ready are kinda pointless. I almost never use a horse. You need carts for a lot of redstone, yes. But if ice/blue ice was more common then I would never travel by cart. Boat and ice for horizontal and water elevators for vertical travel. Unless I had a theme for the build, that is. I think the carts could use an upgrade. Things like brakes. Adjustable speed, variables to powered rails, or use of rockets. Be able to attach a lantern or something to the cart. Have certain color/texture choices. Cart with chest that you can sit in. Why is the cart only made of metal?!?! Not a single wooden option!?!?! Have the ability to add three to five characters if text on the two sides in large ish print. Fill them with water or lava. I think there's a lot they could do to make them more desirable and useful so you would have to choose which method best suits your overall needs.
they are definitely going to do a lot more than just the archeology that we have now. in addition to the sniffer eggs, Mojang has confirmed in the changelog that there will be MORE ancient mobs added to the game. "The sniffer is the first ancient mod to be added to the game" -changelog.
😳
Could be adding more in future updates though who knows
First can also be last.
That doesn’t imply more ancient mobs though it just means the sniffer is unique in that aspect
they confirmed they didnt mean it like that
Reminder that cherry blossoms, the new tree in Minecraft, bloom in Spring from March to April. The blooming of cherry blossoms is a big deal, so I don't think Minecraft would miss out on releasing the update in time for Spring. Cherry blossoms are basically a symbol for spring, and I think the developers know that all too well. So I don't think we should expect a Summer release, it's definitely going to be in the next two months.
Missed opportunity? But where are the damn cherries?
@@GrumpyOldMan977 cherry blossoms don’t actually grow cherries, Cherry trees do. Yes, they’re different
@@thearthurbot2033 Interesting.🤔
Smart man
@@thearthurbot2033 i think they do grow cherries, they just aren’t good like the cherries we usually eat
Archeology has a good foundation for mojang to build off of. Maybe they can give more uses for copper in the future, with the Archeology update.
I think it's a good way to emphasize the fantasy aspects of Minecraft through the mob revival and exploration aspects.
So... do You actually think that the suspicious sand (and possibly other "suspicious" block wariants) is better than archeology being usable on regular dirt/gravel/sand and maybe some else?
Like what use for copper exactly?.... Okay no need to clarify.
You should be able to colour the pots, then put them in a furnace to get glazed pots.
glazed???
awsome idea
@@kiran2410 glazed as in the design of glazed clay
I’m willing to bet this is planned but not released yet. And if not, they better get on it because we all want it.
Wanna make pots the chef's kiss of 1.20? Make them have a single slot inventory. Then, allow the pots to be broken (turn into shards) to release the items within via throwing. Add in the ability to use hoppers and comparators on them. Super simple item filters? Traps? Basically, turn them into useful Legend of Zelda pots. If they only had one slot, they wouldn't be overpowered either (not a shulker box alternative).
Besides these make more sense of dropping their contents than chests do
We should be able to make pots of every terracotta color, but also paint them in addition to that, with also painting the emblems and the trims. Maybe using the same UI as the smithing table but with a new workstation.
I'd like it if the pots had a kiln mechanic, I think it'd be neat. Either way I am defenently going to include a kiln in some of my builds going forward if I plan to decorate them with pots just to create the illusion of using a kiln.
Yesssss! This is exactly what I was asking for the ceramic pots! The top was so basic before - easily obtainable with just a flower pot on terracotta. This is at least a little more unique
Imagine if, similar to the new armors, one could use ores to decorate pots. Maybe adding color to the decorated shards. Or at the very least we should be able to dye and glaze them
like... trim templates for pots? That would be great! (but these should be either re-usable or cheaply multiplayable)
I think what we’ve seen so far is just basic. I’m willing to bet that in the coming weeks, or months, they will release dyeable pots. Maybe glazed too.
The antiques and aesthetics update. Antiques for the sniffer and archaeology, and aesthetics for the new woods, cherry biome, and new plant
this is super cute but prob not
if they try marketing off the sniffer is seems like an L with how bad the torchflower is and archeology would just warrant the name caves and cliffs IV.
@@coachmystogan they prolly gonna add some other flowers and plants
I thought the boat nerf was not working on ice and I was very concerned.
I like Cubfan's idea of the "Discovery Update". It seems to fit in my opinion:) Great video, Wattles!
Discovery and uncovery update lol
Expedition Update
the only thing left is to add some functionality to the pots. give it some way to store items. It could be like the drawers mod where you can add stacks and stacks of only one item or like the vanilla cauldron. those are my two predictions. it is very likely that the pot only has aesthetic purposes
You should be able to put an item inside the crafting recipe to put the item in the pot
I would love for a new type of villager to be added, since they're adding these pots into the game - a Potter. Of course, he'd need a specialized crafting bench. Maybe a little potter's table that has dyes, and potting tools? That way, in the bench itself you could add colors and patterns to it the way that you can for banners?
But like, archeology would provide shard patterns the way that some banner patterns have to be found.
I can't wait for them to expand on archeology and pottery in the future
The pot is getting more and more interesting! I really like some of the looks that placing other things on top, ends up having
We NEEED to be able to put 2 tall flowers into pots! I feel they cannot not implement that feature. It would make so much sense!❤
that’s what i was thinking!!
I hope that when 1.21 comes out its either:
1. New dimension
2. End update
3. Structures and dungeons update
4. Desert update
Same, I think it's very unlikely that it is the dimension, but the others would be cool too. Especially the end update. I wanted that for a very long time.
end update > nether update
An End Update has CRAZY potential, I’d be very excited for that.
I feel like a new dimension they could add is The Aether but there’s no telling what it would be called. I have a feeling that is the dimension where Allays would come from and maybe the target destination of the ancient city portals. Lots and lots of potential.
I dont think a new dimension will be added until after an end update since we just got the Deep Dark which is kind of in that vein. I also don't think they really need a new dimension any time soon when the others are relatively barren compared to the overworld.
What i would love is if mojang add something like a ceramic trim? (Just a randomish name) which creates a pattern instead of image like the shards, cause the shards are nice but i would much prefer a pot with a pattern around it. Like a wavy pattern or other stuff.
Also dying pots would be cool and i would like the old shard placing idea back, and the cooking pots, and the raw pots, if there were raw pots then that could open opportunities for maybe even an entire connected pottery system, that would be awesome also to make different pot dyes, patterns, models and even more shards maybe?
They should add back boats climbing ice BUT instead of just climbing blocks, they should climb stairs and you should be able to make ice stairs, slabs and chiseled ice. The boats should just climb the stairs and slabs
I hope suspicious sand (and gravel maybe) can be silk-touched cuz those would make for great texturing blocks
It will also help with inventory management. 🙂
Maybe the bug that they removed can become a feature, eg. an enchantment for the boat or a crafting recipe to create a more enhanced boat. Piston + Boat?
I think it would be a cool feature to have, especially for transporting villagers.
I really hope we'll be able to have different colored pots, the same as with terracotta.
sorry, I can't look at these pots without remembering the very much beloved by me mod botany pots in 1.16.5. This mod lets you put dirt and some form of crop/tree seed/sapling in them and they would grow the plant over time, giving fewer resources overall than a more complex farm setup would but are also easier to both create and automate. I now wish I could make these custom pots and plant stuff in them lol btw for those curious, the botany pot recipe was terracotta and a flower pot in the hopper pattern and they could be colored any color of terracotta. You could also combine them with a hopper to make them output automatically, but I would be perfectly fine with manual hopper setups with these 1.20 ancient pots :D
omg that sounds amazing honestly wow
I wish they'd add LOD so we can have really far render distances (see the Distant Horizons mod) and also implemented native shader support. The game looks nothing like how they advertise it!
The only way to implement shader support is to remove the render dragon engine which will never happen
Yeah, I use the Bobby mod but it's super temperamental. I really want native LODs.
@@milknhxneyIsnt Render Dragon just Bedrock, which is the bastard child of minecraft anyways? I think Java uses OpenGL so that more platforms can play the game since Render Dragon requires DirectX.
Great vids wattles, keep it up.
Here’s my opinion on the boats:
Boats should be able to go up anything one slab or shorter. Makes more sense that way rather than a whole block.
In addition, add packed ice slabs and blue ice slabs. Not only would they allow boats to travel fast uphill, but they could also be really really useful in decorations as the FIRST blue half blocks in the entire game (seriously mojang why don’t we have blue slabs yet?)
I really hope they bring back cooking the pots, could give camp fires another use
Dunes and ruins is a good sounding name, but it’s a terrible name for this update since it barely has anything to do with the features that it adds, the only dunes related thing about it (other than camels since they aren’t really changing the desert in anyway) is archaeology which isn’t even that big of a feature, plus they said that they might add dig site areas to other biomes, making it not a desert update at all
true i just like the rhyme 😅
This, but I don't even like how it sounds.
Seriously, dunes and ruins just doesn't fit the update. I personally like Discovery and Diversity more.
@@wattlesplays lol
@@greysoncrowe5196 I love the diversity update idea :D
They should make it so boats can go up a block, but only on ice.
No make it snow layers
Or as a gamerule
I think boats should be able to go up blocks, but only slabs or stairs because going up full blocks is too op imo
I like that idea
everytime they update the pots, they get better and better, i hope they add them in ASAP then just keep updating it over time like the blacksmithing table
It would be cool if you could put things in pots, but only get them back it you break the pot. They could also add 'loot pots' to some structures to give players a feeling of 'plundering' (maybe it could insta-summon the warden in ancient cities because it's so noisy but has a guaranteed enchanted golden Apple?)
Hey wattles can you pls explore the ancient city in your survival world it’s been so long since 1.19 came.I wanna see you explore even though some of the other youtubers did.

Sad we didn't get a Desert update or new Oasis biome.
But this update is certainly big enough.
I just look back at the older days of 1.13 Aquatic Update. It's crazy how long ago it was, felt like yesterday.
If we could interact with the pot and use as storage or put food in the pot and fire underneath to cook food would be better. If we could dye the symbols of the pot also would look good.
rip minecart
Would love for boats tp go up one block
Like imagine building a race course for boats but on land
rip minecart
Maybe the second picture has something to do with the story of the pot? Maybe a new loot item to the dungeon or just the ones summoning skeletons?
If 1.21 was just an update about updating almost all the structures in some way, while adding a few more, that would be fine by me.
Structures that could use a complete overhaul to be trickier and more complex:
Dungeon
Stronghold
Desert Pyramid
Jungle Temple
Pillager Outpost
Swamp Hut
Ocean Monument
Nether Fortress
End City
Structures that could use some modifications to refresh them:
Mineshaft
Buried Treasure
Igloo Basement
Ocean Ruins
Shipwreck
Structures that I would like to see added to the game:
Deep (below 0) Dungeon: larger and maybe have a new mob with multiple spawners
Amethyst Dungeon: maybe a low (1-3%) chance a geode could generate as a special dungeon type
More End structures: maybe an End Village, special portal room structures that bring you back to the overworld, maybe some kind of subterranean structures inside the island with end ore.
Mountain cabins: rarely generate, partially broken down, have special loot table for mountains
Iceologer Palace: bring in the Iceologer mob where you have to defeat them in their icy palace at the top of the mountain (maybe hidden inside a ring of mountains so you can't see it easily from a distance)
Cherry Blossom Temple - small temple that generates in the Cherry Blossom forest with some survival loot
Creeper Lair - underground, several creeper spawners, rare green building block and green torches to collect and chests full of dynamite, gunpowder, and blast protection books
I never expect them to add that much, but even a few of these with the other updates would be great. I'd also like them to add another boss to the game, similar to the wither, that has a health bar. Maybe it could tie into the updated/new structures or dungeons and special rare loot used to construct it?
I think 1.20 is the Explore and Lore Update.
The "lore" part is an horrible name
Boats need that function. It'd make moving villagers so much easier
It would make moving a lot more than just villagers easier!
would be perfect for boat racers.
No
@@anussurfer It would be nice if it was added to the game as a gamerule
@@elrondforwin it'd be nice if you got free diamond gear at spawn but just because it would be easier doesn't mean it would be better.
Song from intro was your best friend jippy but I don't remember the exact name.
I think something like "CherryDesert Update" hense the new cherry biome and the new archeology addition
Lets all apreciate the time he spent making this videos that are so incredible!
I think boats should be able to go up blocks but only ice because of how fast you go
The boat bug thing could be a game rule in the future There needs to be game rules and commands for boats.
Thanks for the great info. What I really want to know is when Mojang is going to bring back the customize world option that went away with 1.13?
I'm loving the new features so far... except for the removal of the enchantment glint on potions... i think it should be kept because it makes them look more valuable
Colored pots would be gamechanging for builds!!!
Wattles, I figured Dunes would be at least one word in the Update and You made me not the only one to think that 😁
One of the most annoying thing about Minecraft has been there since it came out and that is nothing is able to move naturally up a slope because it is all voxels. Having boats go up 1 block would be so amazing. Transporting villagers, mobs, and just oneself would be so much easier, faster, and overall more fun. Having the boat "glitch" go up a block is the feature, besides just paper for a map, I've been wanting for ever. Seriously, why do you need radioactive redstone for a map? Paper and charcoal for a map. Why do you need iron to make a MAP?!
I think the name might be dungeons and dunes btw love your vids
My guess could be "Ancient Update" since of the pottery and that the sniffer is called the first ancient mob
Here is 5
- Blossoms and Discoveries
- Archeblossom
- The Update That Change The World Part 2
- The Ruins and Cherry Update
- Overworld Update
We really took the update names being revealed during Minecraft Live for granted all these years...
5x5 is always a good grid for making pixel fonts!
Yeah, the pots can use some variaty. It would be nice, to be able to glaze the pot. Even better would be to be able to do your own pattern, just like with banners.
I think they should use gradients for potions. By using two colors they would be easier to distinguish.
I think it would be cool if mojang made the different categories of potions, Like water breathing and fire resistance a different potion for each of them. So that its also easier for colorblind people to find certain potions
can you put carpet on top of the pot? that would be awesome because then you could make floor textures with the little square topper of it.
omg ur genius
Since the update features armor trim patterns found in chests, the sniffer (an ancient creature, and archeology, I bet the name will have something to do with ancient history.
Like the "Ancient Treasures" update, or the "Forgotten Past" update. Something like that.
Forgotten past fits the area
I want them so make it so you can use Banner Patterns on the pots to make custom pots to fit a specific build theme that you are going for
I just realized that crossbows look like arrows in item frames. I'm gonna start using those in caves to mark my way out now!
I might know why the boat bug was shortly removed. Maybe because I think that this boat bug should be saved as a future update feature, like a sled with doggos in it. (Sled is the most vanilla ish idea i could come up with as an excuse for that bug to be a feature. Anything else is too techy and can be mistaken as a mod to be vanilla)
Imagine if you could store small items in the pots. Like when you shatter the pot the items are broken out. Like the items you put in it cant be taken out. You have to break the pot to take it out.
The boat glitch was fixed to be like bedrock and pocket edition, as you can’t do that in those editions
I think boats should be able to go up half a block, purely because moving villagers is already annoying enough without something like a path block ruining your trip. It's a single pixel for crying out loud.
Slab climbing would be nice, then they're not as bad for land movement and also not as op as ice highways being able to climb around terrain.
For the potions, maybe only have the stopper glint if enchanted
I think boats should have that functionality because it would make early game villager transportation much easier. I can see it could be a problem for some minigames, so maybe half ice slab?
rip minecart
love you Wattles!
You can’t use the label to predict the name, it is the same as wild update
Bro, that dungeon idea is literally a perfect fit. Supisous gravel
I know right?!
As a person who loves to build and decorate houses in minecraft, I LOVE the cherry blossom and the look of the pink wood. Very aesthetic, I also love the pots too.
You haven't tested the pots and redstone!
Can we move them with pistons? Can we check volume with comparator? Does redstone pass through? Can you run redstone across it? Can you pull it with slime blocks or honey? Can you empty it with a hopper or hopper minecart? Can you hopper minecart through it like a solid block? Can you waterlog it?
Yes these will be fun to look at but I have so many questions on other uses!
HEY WATTLES
Just an idea here, but what is you could use brushes to brush off moss from mossy blocks? Do you think that would be a good idea for mojang to add?
8:00 dang, we almost had vanilla Mario Kart!
What recording and editing software do you? I’d really like to know have a good day and an even better life.!
Rather than just using dye on the pots, I think it would be really cool if we could use banners on them. So many more decorative options that way.
Thanks for all your coverage and tips for minecraft
🫡
You should be able to use a chain on a boat like a lead to move it up blocks, it’d be like real life
For potions, invisibility should be white or a very very light grey, and luck doesnt really matter since isnt avaliable for survival, but hey poison could be a darker green than
They need to make suspicious soil for jungle temples! And a few new structures to excavate would be cool!
7:20 you hold the pot like a lego minifig lol
I don't think it's fair for boats to go up a block BUT going up a half block or AT LEAST not be stopped by the singular pixel depth of a path block would be very nice.
Yesterday I was playing in the snapshot and transporting villagers with a boat. I had made a construction to bring em up a few blocks to the level of my base and it just wouldn't work, I was confused and stood there like pretty sure this used to work. The snapshot came like a day too early for my transportation system to work.
There are two names of the 1.20 update i have.
The first one is the exploration update II
The second one would be the spring and summer update because of the cherry blossom bloom in spring and summer would be the digging in the desert would be hot in the summer.
Now again these are my thoughts and it will probably be different. But you never know. :)
I just kinda wish the pots would be as customizable as the banners with 'painting' that'd be stellar.
You should be able to store items In pots like a early game shulker
Someone please explain to me what's so exciting about a clay pot? I'm so confused by the hype over them
I just thought of this name about 2 weeks and its called Minecraft Ancient Update
You should be able to find sniffer bones if you brush a new type of stone called weak stone 🤔
I made a short about that sad boat bug
