It’s absolutely fine if they want to make these characters based around a meta. These characters getting favorite items are 0 characters, unrunnable units that collect dust. Making them extremely good on one team is more than enough, especially if it’s separated from other developed teams to make more variety and options
Same. I'd rather have them make the worse units fit into a specific niche really well rather than have them collect dust and do literally nothing. And it's more interesting than just buffing their stats.
I love the whole favourite system, they just need to increase maintenance and doll drop rates big time!
I know right, finally got my first purple machine gun one for Crown today.

I don't believe Viper getting a favorite item is silly. That just mean thatsome Nikkes will have more opportunities to get buff outside of the usual monthly 4 favorite items. Too bad I don't have Viper yet.
I know I said silly but I didn't mean like it was dumb (even tho that's what the word means lol) but I meant to say crazy as in like wow viper got a favorite unit
Personally, I like the idea of there being more metas because it means there are more paths to success. If I can kill the boss utilizing the shotgun meta and you can achieve the same victory using the sustained damage meta and someone else can also succeed applying the real damage meta then we should all be happy. I don't find games with very restrictive metas fun. Games where the community will tell you that you need to use just these characters with this gear and these skills, etc...
This is my opinion as well. Well said. I’m really sad that to this day I have yet to pull Modernia, Dorothy, or either of the scarlet units but I do have the full shotgun team, Snow White team and my main team of Liter, Rapunzel, Crown, Red Hood, and Laplace. Having more options is the best thing they can do rather than power creep and force higher and higher metas.
In HSR we get a new meta every few releases along with niche gear sets for the new meta and chars heavily focused on it. It keeps the game fresh and makes you farm the new areas. For FTPs its probably hard or impossible to keep up with the new metas if they want to complete highest ranks of PvE. HSR makes a lot more money than Nikke so there may be a reason they are following the same strategy.
You can farm gear sets. You can’t farm favourite items. Big difference there bud.
@@singleplayer9773 I think he refers to the teams like the shotgun ones, the one that will start to get true damage, and this new one with sustain damage, but its only an example, after all they are different games
I think there being a plan for where a character can be used (as in there being a meta/team that fits them) is a big improvement over just trying to make every character competitive on numbers alone.
With the new intercept it might be that this team is a bit better for a couple of bosses while other teams beat them out on different ones
i just got core +5 viper this morning in addition to her gacha skin. as someone who loved viper from day one of her release i’m extremely happy she’s getting some TLC and will have actual usability in at least some aspects. just a shame how long it actually takes to unlock favorite items. 😭

I don't mind with the fav item Nikkes being pushed into a meta. They weren't being used at all before, just like Frima, Exia and now Viper. They're just better, and now we can use our best waifus ❤❤
Shift Up actually did my suggestion of buffing tf out of the hit rate for her, LMAO. Now with overload gear, you can get Viper to +100% hit rate, turning her into a pseudo-sniper. With Naga's core damage buff, she's going to be absolute fire when hitting enemy cores, and because she re-enters burst 2, she'll be a perfect fit with either Naga or Summer Rosanna.
Now I just await for solo raids to start. I got her rare doll. Next is that SR doll!

I think they need to speed up how fast we can get these favorite items. Almost every other game it’s easy to get the upgraded version of older units. It’s easy in dokkan battle, fire emblem, fate grand order you get the the upgraded version of units on release of the unit upgrade. To much RNG and takes way to long to even get the SR item for them. RNG for what color you get for exp, and RNG for if you get successful or not.

I feel like it doesn't change the meta since getting a fully unlocked favorite item will take months. But they're probably pushing this effect with Viper because of the banner event like you said.
Still salty upgrading to purple companion item means progression is so much slower. Doesn't make sense to upgrade if you're going for a favorite item.
well, it creates a meta for sustain damage, but not the meta in general(which is pierce damage and distributed damage)
I dont like the idea of re entering burst II stage, its a setback for pvp.
This treasure makes it for standard dps but not for pvp.
be thankful they are making the DoT team NOW and not 1 unit every 3 month

I like the system except I just don't get why would I put resources into getting leplace's favorite item when I can put those into the dolls I have on emilia, mod, crown, etc? I think there's something wrong with the system unless you really like the characters why make characters comparable when I can make strong characters stronger instead. With how long it takes I could end up getting sbs and not want to even use leplace anymore.
This is a waifu collecting game. People despise being a slave to meta characters.
I personally can't wait until I can have any excuse to take Liter off my team. I fucking hate that character and everything about her design. I hate that she's meta, and the sooner they give me a reason to abandon her sorry ass, the better.
because the favorite item instead gives much more stats buff than the sr dolls, not mention the buff on the skills
