      The inflated price was bound to happen, as Toyota has built its reputation on reliability, dependability, and resale value, at least IF you decide to sell down the road, you should command a decent return. Nonetheless, it still hurts the pocketbook, but have fun your young and will earn in other ways.

      @jed23ify my 16 has been leaking oil from a blown seal for about 2 years literally a few thousand miles after my extended warranty ended. Toyota quoted me over $5k to fix and I was told it wasn't worth fixing. These trucks aren't as reliable as many think. Every oil change I dump a bottle of blue devil oil stop leak to lessen leakage. It does seem to help ans because of this my truck isn't worth what it should be worth.

    Last night the weather was great, so stopped by the Nissan and Toyota dealers, which are next to each other. This was after the salesmen were gone, so I just looked around and got sticker shock at a Capstone that was over 80 thousand!
    There were only 3 Frontiers, so I guess they sold all the ones I looked at a while back. There were 7 Tacomas, and they oddly were all base models, six identical white ones and one silver. Very strange choice of inventory. Up close for the first time, as a former body shop guy, my first impression is that I have NEVER seen so many body lines of different types all combined into one vehicle. It's as if Toyota asked all its stylists to submit ideas, then they fed ALL of them into a computer and told it to combine all the ideas into a single body style. SO busy!
    I then went back to the Frontier, and it's like my eyes could rest as I looked over the simpler lines. To me Nissan has puffed the hood up over the bed rails too much, but ALL the manufacturers are doing that now for some kind of competition apparently. I also don't understand why late model trucks also have so much front overhang. None of my older trucks had that. Is this some kind of mandated crush zone?
    My conclusion is that Toyota chose very complex lines to go with the complexity under the hood. Just a guess. Nissan keeps it simpler inside and out. Except they should offer the simple six speed manual to complete the formula.

    • @counterfeitcowboy1362
      @counterfeitcowboy1362  Před 13 dny

      Yeah the capstone tundra is crazy isn’t it! I’d say it is one of the most luxurious trucks I’ve ever driven tho. But I’d say the platinum or 1794 have everything I’d ever want for 5-8k less.
      And I would agree the body is pretty busy. Toyota has said they were trying for a trophy truck styling. So it has the skinny body and wide fenders. And then all the body lines are probably Toyota just trying to make it look aggressive. I personally like the look but there’s a butt for every seat. That’s why there’s a million different flavors of car. 😁

      Yeah I’ve noticed that… it seems like it might actually jump ok… but the majority of the little stuff is just so stiff!!!

    Raw plastic fender flares are very cheap and tacky looking, especially on a rig at that price

      Honestly I’d rather the raw plastic, the pro has gloss black flare. They look cool but they are going to get scratched really bad. And the TRD offroads have had raw plastic fenders since 2016

      I felt this way for years. But I have a Tundra also, so wasn't real worried about it on the Taco. HOWEVER, I find this bed to be extremely functional for camping and mountain biking. It's just easier to use when I don't need a massive bed. So much easier to get stuff in and out of.

    Toyota needs to bring back the 4.0 liter V6 with the duel climate control. And definitely lower the price.

      I keep saying they should give us a 2004 double cab sized truck and just make is as basic as possible. Roll up windows. Manual door locks etc. they could call it the t100 and price it at like 23k

  • @SansooIan
    @SansooIan Před 22 dny

    55-56k is the starting price of a Ranger Raptor (If its not marked up). But still - its what you're getting for the money at 60k. Having to spend that money.. only to spend more on Suspension tires and wheels.. at 60k??? Come on man.

    You’re living dangerously son.
    If you Tacoma owners are anything like us 4Runner owners, you done messed up saying anything at all negative about your truck.
    I made the huge mistake of criticizing the Toyota app the other day and you would have thought I called people the N word…
    I swear, the 4Runner owners in Reddit are more sensitive than 8th grade boys.

      Oh yeah. 😂 don’t criticize the app! ( I sell Toyotas and I can admit it going be better😂) Reddit might be the other problem. All I can say is keep doing you, talk crap on that app if you want to. And thanks for watching!😁
