Opposition parties call for Presidency oversight

- Opposition parties have long been calling for an oversight committee on the Presidency, accountable to the National Assembly. EFF MP and chairperson Veronica Mente says the portfolio committees are the most important mechanisms for all executive members to account to Parliament.

@@VusiMalibe Glad to see that it being ''rejected'' has not changed it's posture or mission of fighting for the poor. Revolution is never accepted but rejected until its time has come, similar to a seed that is under the ground, the ground is not rejecting the seed but ony making it stronger. When the seed has been watered it will be strong enough to push its self out of the ground so that it can grown, bear friut and nourish many. Right now the EFF is that seed that is under the ground, but soon it will be strong enough to push itself out of the ground and then nothing will be able to stop it or stand in it's way.

You are true these people always forget about the public opinion and consultation including public views. They forget that they are servants being employed and paid by citizens
GNU needs what is called Academic national executive committee, which will consist qualified personnel according to key departments, personnel whos not part of the parliament. These Academics will debate the implemebility and viability of the decision made by parliament, based on rigorous research that will unpack the decisions impact on the population and the country moving forward.
